Black Knight Commander Andreas is a Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Spirit in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Black Knight Commander Andreas was the first leader of Messmer's army, once summoned, he uses massive equipment and is ideal for tanking.
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of Andreas, Knight-Commander of the Black Knights. The Black Knights were the primary force of Messmer's army. Their first leader was Andreas, a man endowed with great strength and command over the powers of the Crucible, and whose spirit in these ashes dwells. Though he remained a devout follower of Messmer after his flight from the Erdtree, he would rebel after learning of his liege's serpentine nature. His righteous stand was rewarded with imprisonment in an underground tomb.

- It's located by following the Fog Rift Catacombs past a black knight guarded by x3 Messmer Soldiers and then jumping onto the top of the spike trap the falls from the ceiling and then crossing it into a corridor. The Spirit Ashes is lying in a coffin. [Map Link]

These are not as bad as people say. This one is used mainly for its aggro effect. It appears to have, by far, the highest aggro in the entire game. It is so high you can often get away with spamming dragon breath attacks and other attacks that usually pull aggro from Spirit Ashes during boss fights. He is decently tanky, too, but due to holding aggro so much and not moving fast/teleporting he isn't insanely tanky in the long run. His dmg output is also not awful but definitely not good. In short, he lets you go ham on bosses and has superb aggro so there will be bosses and builds that will excel with this ash and then there will be those that don't.

Sidegrade to Oleg that trades offensive power for defense. One of the better tank summons who can still output real damage without being immediately disintegrated by AoE like the Greatshield Soldiers.
Unfortunately hamstrung by dealing Holy damage against maingame content, but will **** up a Death Knight no problem.

Pretty bad, does like no damage and his main counter attack is so delay it rarely hits any enemy

He is an amazing tank. He can survive more than long enough for you to end the boss you are fighting

It's really fun to just summon him against a Curseblade or something and just watch as the enemy slowly realizes they can't break his shield.
