Summons spider scorpion spirit
|
Spider Scorpion Ashes is a Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Spirit in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Spider Scorpion Ashes summons an abherrant creature that uses both pincers and tail to attack its foes.
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirit of a spider scorpion.
This scorpion is larger than a human, and attacks with pincers and a poisonous tail.
Appears some distance from the summoner.
This breed of scorpion was native to the realm of shadow, but was far smaller in size. Recent giant scorpions are said to trace back to the Church of the Bud.

Low FP cost summons fit into a very tight niche, and this ash's power reflects that. Nothing amazing, but for the same reason you'd use the Rats, you might want to use this.
Should note that "some distance from the summoner" just means "they spawn at the little summoning obelisk nearby". There's one in each area where you can summon and certain ashes spawn there rather than next to you.

It doesn't deal much physical damage, but it deals a lot of emotional damage to players who have arachnophobia, so I'm gonna take it.

Perfect for summoning against your arachnophobic friends and/or foes

I upgraded this thing to +9 and it was barely doing like 15 damage to enemies in liurnia. I get the feeling this is a glitch

Why, oh why is the coolest looking ashes in the game that weak?? 31 FP cost?? So it's probably gonna survive for like 1 second in any boss fight. That is so disappointing.

These things are really bad as an ash. The best thing I can say is that they can take (non-fire) hits pretty well for the cost.

Love these little buggers, shame the ashes aren't anything too great.

This thing triggered a visceral, primordial fear in me when it first dropped down. Seriously, there hasn't been a single enemy in any of these games that got me like that, not since the spiders in Bloodborne and besides the giant one, they didn't seem nearly as bad.

I wish you were allowed to use summons in PvP just for this specific ash. This thing doesn't do much damage, nor can it tank hits, but it would scare some players and I think it's the only purpose of these enemies. (Also I guess they should have made this ash the winged version instead for added creepiness.)
