- 3 in Temple Quarter: Within a circle of white flowers protected by Albinaurics. Entering the circle triggers an ambush. [Map Link]

- 5 in Caria Manor: On a corpse to the west of the entrance. Walking near it triggers a Fingercreeper ambush. [Map Link]

If you need these things BEFORE you go to the Consecrated Snowfield, you can farm them from the Giant Lobsters in the Mountaintops of the Giants. They're really weak to Sleep, so I go to the First Church of Marika, and just to the north of it there are two sleeping lobsters. Hit em with a Sleep Pot, or if you lure them away from you with a Kukri then you can hit both of them with St. Trina's Sword's Mists of Slumber at once (they get close to each other when they investigate the noise), and that'll put them both to sleep. Then you can cast Night Maiden's Mist on them and it won't wake them up, you're gonna have to cast NMM 3 or 4 times to kill them but it's way easier than trying to actually fight them.
The farming location that's mentioned above near Ordina Town is just on the other side of the river, west of the grace. Also there are 22 individual plants of which each can yield more than one. Good farming spot indeed!

Heres something neat: these can be used to craft freezing pots, and freezing pots deal enough frost damge to instantly frostbite most things. Also, inducing frostbite knocks Malenia out of Waterfowl Dance.

Just go to the big tree/spires on the other side of the river from the site of grace. Just run around all of them and grab them while ignoring all the enemies. I get over 100 by running around all the spires. Make sure to kill the sanguine noble since he makes it so you can’t ride on torrent in that area.

There's ten in the middle of the Kingsrealm Ruins. They're in a square shaped room.

Farming this around ordena liturgical town as suggested on this page is a spectacularly bad idea bordering on suicidal. There may well be seventeen but there are also a load of albinauric archers and their dire wolves all over the place on that side of the frozen river.
They will see you before you see them and they will f**k your s**t up.
There are more than seventeen around the waygate that takes you to Mohgwyn's palace, that side of the frozen river is more lucrative for farming these buds.

There are a load of them all over the place north of Yelough Anix ruins. Stay on that side of the frozen river and they are all around the trees there. Stealth works to avoid the rune bears but only at a certain distance get too close and they will aggro regardless of 'assassin's gambit', 'crepus's vial' or 'concealing veil' apart from that there are some dogs you'll see before they see you and giant dragon flies, a bigger pain in my arse than the dogs. If you stay on the west side of the frozen river the spectral dragonkin soldier doesn't spawn. I maxed my inventory and storage there, 999 on me and 999 in the grace storage chest. Anyone doing the NG+ cycle should fill their boots before starting it so they can craft cold arrows right from the off.

Dont bother with farming around archers. Go to inner consecrated snowfield, ride uphill, pass noble who turns into a runebear, go to the place with many white poles/tress and the only thing that can hurt you here is lightning orb. I'm getting around 40 of those per run which takes like 2 minutes.

So this give you recipe for Freezing Grease in early Liurna, but no naturally growing Rimed Crystal Bud until late game Consecrated Snowfield (itself a secret area that is missable).
There's a few RCB around on corpses in various locations, but not enough to craft more than a very few FG.

11 by that giant trunk to the west of Ordina? Man I counted 24 around that thicc boi.

Took about 15 minutes to get 210 rimed buds from the frozen trunk west of ordina grace.
There are 11 respawnable ones to the west and slightly south of Ordina. You can see a giant frozen tree trunk from the grace. They grow around that.

The biggest clusters can be found south of the Apostate Derelict grace. The closest bunch can be instead found right outside the church the grace is contained in.
