One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Allows one follow-up attack.
Drawn from the scholarly conspectus of Haima, the adjudicator of the academy, this sorcery employs might as a means to quell conflict.

Elden Ring Gavel of Haima Guide
- Glintstone Sorcery
- Stamina Cost: 38
- Deals magic damage
- Has very good stance-breaking capabilities
- If dual wielding staves, you can bypass the single follow-up attack and chain this repeatedly by casting from one hand and then the other, alternating each time.
- Note: As of Patch 1.07, FP cost reduced from 25 to 22, the hammer portion of the attack now deals increased damage and the attack does more stamina damage against guarding enemies. In addition, stamina cost was reduced from 46 to 38.

Wanting to spice up you bonk-life? Want that pack of small beasties turned to mulch or stance-broken and ready to receive your other... hammer? Level int and try Gavel of Haima today! Remember, pack heavy. Pack Haima.

Both Haima spells are great utility for pure INT builds. With the cannon you can take out groups of enemies around corners and through walls/floors/ceilings at very long range, and you can abuse the gavel's hyperarmor to pancake even the knights at the haligtree.
Not the most FP efficient, fast, or high damage spells, but really great to have for exploring and farming as a squishy low poise caster.

The hyperarmor and deceptive range and hit box make this a great surprise finisher against phantoms.

I remember the gavel being bigger on my last playthrough 2 years ago lol

Honestly, seems to be the best way for int builds to deal with crystalians.

The banished knight killer. Even the dual greatsword banished knights at Castle Sol felt like trash mobs, getting pancake'd by the mighty hammer.

I will proceed to abruptly reduce the dimensions of your cranium with the usage of this magically summoned hammer.

I could break the stance of the Fire Giant with a couple of hits from it. I also broke the cast of the Fire giant with one hit.

Huge poise damage + hyperarmour along with massive aoe makes this an essential spell for the more close range magic user. Easily dispatches any humanoid enemy including tougher foes like crucible knights thanks to its massive stagger. Great for crowds as well
- Anonymous
Isnt there a staff to buff the damage for this and the cannon of haima? They do lame damage for what they are and my carian slicer does a better job at everything
- Anonymous
The fact that this thing has the same stance breaking capabilities as Giant-Crusher's charged attack, e.g., stunlocking Crucible Knights or nailing Crystalians to the ground even if they aren't poise broken, is insane. Fearsome tool for Intelligence builds.

You need intelligence to use this so in reality it's the thinking man's bonk

Does this spell have hyper armor? With how limited sorceries actually have it, I hope it does at least
- Anonymous
Really good tool in PvP. Kicks in fast, has quick hyperarmor that tanks a lot, has HUGE range, and good damage. Oh, and can be followed with 2nd swing if 1st one was bait.

i killed thops before learning it was his quest that had the gesture

Holy **** this kicks ass. Poise, floors humanoid enemies, can follow up and has an AoE burst that eases how much precision I truly need. What more could you want?

People dont get the verticality of this spell. It can hit enemies even high up and fish them out of the air. Try the following against any human-sized enemy that tends to do a lot of lunging and jumping attacks like Black Knives or beastmen:
1. Get distance to lure them into using said attacks
2. Wait for them to make a move. Any move
3. Bonk. If it misses, bonk again
4. The enemy is now flattened against the ground like an insect under a rolled up newspaper
5. Laugh your buttocks off

Nerf slicer damage, buff this damage. I just realized the reason I always get hit by this hammer spell is because it’s not dangerous enough for me to even learn to dodge it. Meanwhile I have a million tricks to mitigate slicer cheese.

I have a question, Think i already know the answer but does this scale with strength?

also known as "Bonk of Haima", this spell is pretty useful in different situations because:
- it has a follow up attack, meaning that if the first hit misses there's still a chance for the 2nd one to do the job;
- it stomps human-size enemies on the ground, giving you a bit of time to either recover/gain distance or even prepare another attack;
- gives a decent amount of poise once the cast is half way, wich can be useful for trading in PvP.
does almost as much damage as carian slicer, at only 5x the fp cost and 1/5th the speed.

No running or jumping attack with this spell, that is a real crime.
Probably my favorite magical weapon sorcery along with Carian Slicer, both for PVE and PVP.
This spell is especially valuable in low poise mage builds in PVP , since people never expect a lightly dressed mage to be able to poise through their attack and trade for half their health, and that is exactly what Gavel of Haima allows you to do.

Absolutely deletes cryatalians. Breaks armour in 3-4 hits then starts doing massive damage

bonking insta proccs rotten winged talisman and possibly other consecutive hit effects in one cast, and allows you to combo into carian slicer to get 1-2 buffed casts for free as the enemy is trying to get up

Hoping DLC/expansion could bring us a faith version like what Morgott has

It's weird that you don't get this from the sorcerer in the graveyard near the church of plague. Nothing even mentions the guy there ether despite him being quite challenging to beat yet dropping nothing and only guarding beast blood

With the purge of chaincasting, this spell is ironically the only one to benefit from the removal of chaincasting, particularly because the second cast is a few milliseconds slower than the first cast. This means that you'll whip out Haima much faster now at the cost of it not chaincasting anymore. As well as the spell having great recovery frames, you can easily cast into a Swift Glintstone Shard (or any other spell) and then back into a Haima without proccing the slower second cast of Haima.

They gave this way to much hyperarmour can run a 10 poise setup and hyperarmour through so much things. I'm not saying a damage nerf the damage is fine just the hyperarmour is a bit overtuned.

There a glitch that if you cast 2 spell and then cast this nothing will happen and you lost fp. At first i think it's bad glitch that make this spell wasted, But I accidently glitch this while fighting mob and it's flattened to the ground with addiotional 1k damage without animation.
2 slicer then instant hammer!, Now mage have our own rockslinger lightning like combo.

With the nerf to the Adula's Moonblade, this is my new favorite spell. Completely destroys human-type enemies by just chain-stomping them to the ground. Really good for invaders, the Black Knife Assassin-types like Alecto, and the knight-type enemies (especially ones without a shield). The hyperarmor you get while casting is just fantastic.
Testing this in PVE against larger mobs like Omens, the follow-up attack on this is not useful as it will not chain stagger/knockdown the target. Instead I found it best to cast it once for the knockdown and then quickswap to Slicer for DPS.

When an earlier comment said it staggers nearly everything, that includes Crucible Knights. Just used it to help a summoner for Crucible Knight & Misbegotten Warrior and every swing staggered him. So have fun with that all you Gavel Chads.

just wanted to provide some notes after 100 pvp matches using this :
- perfect for aggressive opponents if you don't want to rely on something like storm stomp - even with 8 poise, the amount of hyperarmor allows you to tank anything but colossals - the pancake will usually result in players rolling away, giving you opportunity to chain the cast into something else
- a good set up with this is after the first cast, COMET can be chain casted right after - the amount of noise and blue magic on screen acts as an effective mask to hide your quick casts and is extremely difficult to dodge if it isn't expected
- you're also able to cast the followup attack after something like adula's,slicer, etc - the followup has a delayed windup that seems to catch panic rollers often - pair this with something that will force a roll into you
- the forward hitbox on the gavel's aoe is more extended than you think
- Anonymous
Spellblade and Battlemages rejoice! After the buffs it recieved, it grants over 100 Poise while casting and does more damage than Comet for the same FP cost, but in an AOE with massive stagger.

You can roll catch people with it after the storm stomp AoW - and if they try to hit you instead of rolling you now have some hyper armor! Absolutely love this thing after the patch.
