Comet Azur is a Sorcery in Elden Ring. Comet Azur spell creates a giant comet that deals very high damage from a great distance.

Legendary sorcery devised by Azur, primeval sorcerer.

Fires a tremendous comet in a torrent akin to the distant starry expanse, the place said to be the origin of glintstone.
Hold to continue releasing the sorcery's power.

When Azur glimpsed into the primeval current, he saw darkness. He was left both bewitched and fearful of the abyss.

    • I've done a bit of experimentation and the damage seems to be a steady constant.
The initial damage will always be 1.42*sorcery scaling and all damage after is 1.13* sorcery scaling

Need a serious buff in PvP
Make it like Rennala where you can change the direction of the spell
For now the spell is trash and useless unless you want to one shot bosses
Don't waste 3 spell slots for that sh*t

The Youtube video where someone lines up the Godskin Duo, puts them to sleep, buffs his or her character with everything under the sun and then blasts them straight into the next galaxy will never not be satisfiying.

I’m extremely disappointed it doesn’t insta poise break in pvp. Hit someone with the beam and they just sprint out of it for only two bursts of damage and no poise break. Two bursts with no poise break...

I don't really get the hate for this, its slow to charge and pretty situational, yes it does destroy the bosses it works on, but it does not steamroll the entire game.

              • This is my favorite spell in the game.

It has a cool sound effect, it has a cool look, and I love blasting my enemies with the power of the galaxy.

This spell scales really well with MIND and mana cost reduction gear.

Elevation between you and your enemy is crucial for landing this spell consistently.

I totally think it’s valid to play From games on easy mode as a way to quickly progress through the game and experience the story as fast as you want. That said, Comet Azur ain’t it. It’s overrated as a game breaking spell. I heard about how powerful this spell was and it was sold in so many YT videos as a boss melter that was available early game. However, the INT requirement is ridiculously high and the slow cast time/nonexistent tracking render it almost useless in PvE and PvP unless you stack various buffs. I only found it useful for Malenia’s second phase and Commander Niall. I’m probably gonna do a rebirth on my INT build because the stat investment isn’t really worth it imo, especially if you’re focusing your build around using this as early as possible. You’ll quickly become a glass cannon with particularly bad aim. I had much better luck with dragonmaw on a more well-rounded build.

Absolutely busted, there's no denying that. Use it if you want, I'm not some all-knowing jackass that will tell you that you can or can't use, but be aware that you are very likely to come across players who will never want to be summoned by you/summon you into their world because they actually want fight the boss and part of the enjoyment for these games comes from the difficulty and catharsis in overcoming a seemingly insurmountable obstacle, and that includes doing so with allies by their side to share the victory with. Remove the difficulty and the game loses a lot of its charm, there is no spectacle, no glory, after watching the 5th boss get deleted by this spell the satisfaction quickly fades and it transforms what would have otherwise been a memorable encounter that you'll remanence about, into just another boss fight to cross off your checklist never to be thought of again. After you inevitably get bored of using the spell, you'll either stop playing the game entirely due to boredom or you'll keep playing but without using Comet Azur for a fresh experience.

Stand before boss fog. Put on Azur's Glintstone Crown. Cast Terra Magica. Sip from Physick Flask. Jellyfish Shield. Walk into boss room. Nuke the boss with Comet Azur. Smile.

Whenever I use this spell for fun, I feel a great disturbance in the force. As if thousand of Souls "fans" suddenly cried out of bitterness. Let the downvotes come.

This is one of those things that are too good to the point I don’t even want to use it because it’s just too much power

The people critising obviously are not very good at Souls games. It's traditionally been easier to use a sword an shield in every souls game with magic focused builds being way harder. In elden ring from software seems to have worked to make each build more balanced and spells like this do that. To use it you need to carry drastically less crimson tears and as a mage you won't be in armour or won't often have a shield as to focus In intelligence meens cutting back elsewhere and means you can't just tank hits and wack away with the rivers of blood.

The megalaser's raw power speaks well enough for itself. Instead, I should elucidate you on a weakness of Comet Azur: verticality.
Comet Azur has a limited vertical firing angle, and is worthless against opponents that are too high or too low compared to you.

Yea. Fighting a boss Mano a Mano can be fulfilling and fun. But so is taking the tools put into a game to make a monster of a toon that melts bosses for fun.

Guzzles FP like a Ford excursion, doesn’t track at all, and leaves you frozen. But if you set this up right, buff up, and time the shot? Nothing can withstand it.

With the right setup, you can kill Malenia immediately as her 2nd phase starts.

As soon as the phase transition happens, drink your special flasks to boost magic damage and nullify FP cost. By the time you're out of the drinking animation, she'll land with her Scarlet flower bomb. Roll 3 times to escape and immediately cast Comet. She was dead right before she got up.

I'd have preferred this to have been viable as a bnb spell replacement for most situations instead of being a wipe out move in some situations. Less damage and lower FP cost with faster startup pls

Stop saying that this spell doesn’t work for fast moving bosses. Using this at Malenia’s 2nd stage will wipe almost all her hp bar. Using this against Radagon can finish the fight under 30s. Every spell requires good timing. Why should this be an exception?

At least, for the precious few seconds they sit in my game before the boss dies and they leave.

That feeling is "hot damn, gimme that DBZ Spell right ****in' now".

I love the game but appreciate there being spells like this that I can use to "cheese" through the game and still get to enjoy it. If you want to go in with no armor and a stick to prove you're good at the game that's fine, but I ain't got that kind of time to "git gud" and will just enjoy my play through blasting everythign in the face.

Ok listen, don't complain about other players using this spell, they can do whatever they want, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean the players aren't still technically cheasing certaint bosses with it and ruining the fun of the fight.

I mean seriously, imagine spending possibly months making the final boss of the game that you think everyone will really like but then all the players just kill it in 5 seconds and don't even see the second phase.

Does anyone care that I played the game "legit"? No.

They payed sixty bucks, or whatever equivalent, for the game, same as you. Let 'em play how they want.

I wouldn't blame the spell for being too strong, its more that boss ai is dumb enough to just stand in the beam and let themselves get obliterated lol

                                                                • Anonymous

This is the most overrated spell by far. It's only best from 60-68 Int. After 68, Carian Scepter with Dark Moon into spamming Stars of Ruin or just basic Comet is way more consistent. The spectacle of one blasting with this spell is impressive for vids, but bosses will randomly ruin it by simply moving right as you start firing. A slightly harder fight that you can do on the first try every time is way better then a super easy fight that randomly requires 4 tries due to RNG.

                                                                  • Anonymous

In the early gameplay trailers when the Enchanted Knight was shown casting it against a troll it was purple but somehow that didn’t make it to live and instead the spell uses the generic/Raya Lucaria Glintstone turquoise color which is totally wrong from a lore perspective. It’s also not azur(e) like the name suggest either. I know it might seem like a little thing but it really bugs me, lol. Anyone else feel the same way?

                                                                    • Anonymous

In PvE sure its powerful, but that's PvE. Whatever someone else does in PvE has literally NOTHING to do with you.
For once just let people have fun, HOWEVER they have fun.

Even if you do see this spell in PvP its just as useless as DS3, you can dodge it and punish. So I see no reason in crying about it.
I don't see why people get butt-hurt over other people having fun.

And if you summon someone who uses it and get upset that the boss got melted, then next time don't summon someone. Not trying to be mean, but you asked for help and you got help.

To anyone who uses this spell, keep using it, don't let someone ruin your fun crying that its 'overpowered'.

                                                                      • Anonymous

I’d consider this to be a type of “hail Mary” spell in PvP. It has high FP consumption, it is hard to aim, it is very easy to punish, and if it hits, it may not hit for much damage at all. However, if all of the cards line up, it can decimate opponents and turn completely change the outlook of a fight.

When trying to aim, unlock yourself from your opponent. Move your body so that it faces wherever they are running, and try to keep the camera level. While your at it, you might as well say a quick prayer yourself.

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

tried buffing this with seppuku blood loss ring poison ring with meat dumpling and physical damage flesh all together and they didnt do anything, the only thing in my testing i noticed that does more damage was rannis dark moon but thats damage negation anyways.

                                                                                • Anonymous

Does work well as a boss melter if you combine with the no FP drain Physik.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Honestly I kinda regret picking this up. It's too powerful to not use, but it trivializes practically every boss. It's like every time I enter a boss room there's a 10-second cutscene of me killing them and that's that.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

"Primal Glintstone Blade" Talisman + "Glintstone Scarab" Helmet almonst halves the FP costs (from 40 down to 26)

                                                                                      • Anonymous

People be like "it's not that good, it's so cost intensive, it cannot track the aim, damage is good but FP comsumption is too high"

Meanwhile the greatest incantation "Elden Stars" at 50 faith, 47 FP, 45sec duration does about 500 damage, people still defending it.

Fromsoftware really likes magic, no love for the faith builds...

                                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                                              • Anonymous

I'm going to go with something a bit closer to the source material....

Setting up Terra Magica as you come into the area and just allowing him to approach then drinking Hidden Cerulean Tear you can then start to laser him and because of his Nihil chanting he will stand still and let you completely 100 to 0 him despite his 40% magic absorption. Like others have said it leaves you completely defenseless but damn does it feel good to go against a demi God and just fire forth a beam so powerful you literally wipe Mohg from existence in about 13 seconds.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous
