Where to find Gold Sewing Needle in Elden Ring
- Found in a chest at the right of the main entrance to Church of Vows in Liurnia of the Lakes. [Map Link]
Elden Ring Gold Sewing Needle Use
- The Gold Sewing Needle can be given to Boc the Seamster. Doing so requires having bought at least one legendary boss armor piece from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold. Applicable boss armor pieces from the base game are Radahn's Lion Armor and the Lord of Blood's Robe.
- After giving the Gold Sewing Needle to Boc the Seamster, he will now be able to alter boss armor in addition to his normal sewing service.

Boc's real polite about me strip-searching local folk heroes after brutally murdering them for their clothes doesn't complain about the blood stains or nothin
thanks Boc

There is no reason to make a sewing needle out of metal as soft as gold so this seems like it must have something to do with Malenia / Millicent's story.

Should clarify that to give Boc the golden needle you need an ALTERABLE boss armor, not any piece. Radahn's Chestpiece is the earliest you can probably get.

i’m in ng+ and there was a chest in the back right corner of the church of vows. it had the golden sewing needle in it

I had issues trying to give him the gold needle; I don't know who this will help, but in my case to get each different dialog option I had to travel to the different locations where Boc could be found to go through the various steps of his dialog.

Just discovered the problem, for those wondering Boc doesn’t get the dialogue option until you WEAR an UNALTERED piece of boss armor (ex Radahn Chest Piece). I had it altered he didn’t prompt, I un-altered it and I had to wear it to make him trigger the answer, hope that helps!

I have radahns chestpiece, i can alter it at a grace if i wanted to. I have the gold needle, but i can't give it to Boc. what the heck?!

You know, for a new system they added to the game, they didn't make it do a whole hell of a lot.
Most of the armors that badly need altering (especially helmets with their dumb as hell plumes) are not even alterable.
Maliketh's helm, veteran's helm, tree sentinel helm, royal knight helm, Malenia's helm.
and lets not forget all the different knight armors, with the ridiculous chest medallion.
And why did we not get an option to add the capes to different chestpieces?

You can only give it to him once you have a demi-god armor that can be altered. For example: Radahn's chestpiece will work, but Rennala's won't.

Is there other sewing needle keys to unlock? Once you get this can you alter everything that the game lets you?

if you already altered a demigod armor at grace before give him the golden needle u need to revert the piece to normal than the option will be available
As soon as I found this item it was able to alter my armor. I have not met Boc

This item is NOT given to BOC. The item given to Boc is just a sewing needle. It is not the Gold Sewing needle.
I think you have to wear some demigod armor or have it in your inventory to activate Boc's gold needle conversation.
Didn't work for me before, but then I tried one last time with Malenias helmet on and there it was.

I see the issue for those unable to give Boc the Gold Needle at the East Capital Rampart Grace. If you have completed Sellen's quest and killed a *certain character* at the Raya Lucaria Grand Library, then he can't use the Larval Tear to be reborn. Thus, not allowing you to give him the needle.

Boc can be found at East Capital Rampart that is when you give him the golden needle he will then ask for a larva so he can be reborn again and may perhaps change his appearance to something more befitting something more beautiful

It can be given to Boc once he's at the capitol city, this will allow you to progress his questline, change the appearance of demi-god armor, and also open the dialogue option up to give Boc a Larval Tear. He will then appear at the Ray-Lucaria academy, where he will curl up into a ball and not be able to be spoked to...
there's a guy near sellia that's requesting a needle be found but he said the needle was in the Aeonia swamp
I'm at Boc now (he's at Lake Facing Cliffs since I rescued him) but there's no option to give him the gold needle. I've already given him some other needle and kit so .....

Only note it removes the cape on The Confessor Chest armor. Need to check more.

Found at the Church of Vows, North East of the South Raya Lucaria Gate.
Boc is a good slave, he is free but doesn't leave us. We don't need to whip him for he to serve us. I like to have such a kind of friend but I can't like him, he is just a useful slave. I feel I'm a good person letting him call me a lord and works for me for free. He is not beautiful and I will let him die in the end. It is worth 1 larval tear.
