Never understood why this half of the medallion is in such a higher level area. All the enemies are tanky and late game. Why not put this in a place like Carian Manor or somewhere else in Liurnia of the Lakes?

Obviosly NG+ option to shortcut walkthrough or developers mistake.

The left half from weeping peninsula (which Grace points us towards) tells us this is in Fort Faroth. For me, this happened organically before finding the detour.

Literally just run past them. Unless you're encumbered, you'll have no problem just running past them and getting on the ladder. They don't really follow you up there.

Considering where it is and how I haven't come across any hint towards this half's location, are you even meant to find this part of the medallion before going to Altus plateau? I just took the detour, like the ghost at the lift hints towards. Felt like that was the way you were meant to get there for the first time.

Там можно и без пепла управиться. Я просто пробежал к лестнице мимо мышей (ни разу не ударили, пока лез)

In theory could get this very quickly by porting to the beast sanctum, and using a buddy as bait or ashes while you scramble up the ladder to grab the medallion.
pretty decent quick guide how to get them and use them

The left one can be found in the highest tower of Fort Haight
All the people claiming this is hard to get because it's a hard area haven't got the notice that this is a souls game and as such most areas can just be sprinted across. You don't have to kill everything in your way to reach most places, just run and don't look back, you'll be fine.
