I think this info is wrong. I'm pretty sure how this quest works is:

-Whenever you kill Godrick or rest at the Liurnia grace, Roderika moves to Roundtable, where you can talk to her and Hewg to unlock her as a spirit tuner. She leaves a seed at the shack if you haven't given her the memento.

-If you grab the memento and talk to Roderika while she's still at the shack, she will give you a seed. Once she's a spirit tuner, her hood will be at the pile of corpses.

-If you grab the memento and reload the area while Roderika is already at Roundtable, her hood will be at the pile of corpses.

Maybe this Item has some Use in the DLC?
Because knowing these games man.. i dont think the, just put that there, and have no usefulness except some Twist of Fate in the DLC.

I didn't even have to get to Liurnia before doing Stormveil. Just defeated Godrick, spoke to her and Hewg in the Roundtable Hold and bam, spirit tuning available.

this is new right? i dont remember needing this before. last i remember you just exhausted her dialog options and then eventually she found her way to the round table hold. i dont recall ever needing to grab this and i always did stormveil castle first.

I don't get what's even with this item. It's far EASIER to do the alternate progression for Roderika's quest by reaching the Liurnia of the Lakes Site before trying to break into Stormveil, let alone making it all the way to the corpse pile.

A chrysalid is an insect in a cocoon, like the kind that caterpillars go into. Could the 'cocoon' be the bodybag they're wrapped up in? Is "if you're grafted by the spider, you become a chrysalid" just her poetic way of saying dead grafting victims get bagged and strung up?

So the implication is that if you didnt get the memento she herself entered stormveil castle, looked for her friends, and left her hood behind on top of them, putting an end to her “journey” yea? Thats dope

Am I alone in thinking that what the spirits are trying to convey is that Roderika is kinda-sorta dead at this point? When we first meet her in the shack on Stormhill, she's rambling about grafting, chrysalids and being ready to die. The Roundtable Hold we visit is an echo of the original RTH placed in another dimension by the Two Fingers, existing in kind of purgatory as there can be no proper afterlife / death without the Rune of Death, and the Roderika we see in RTH without the hood is her, deceased but now existing in a kind of spirit form limbo?

So guys, I found out if you don't ever talk to Roderika at all, after Maliketh's Fight, at that point she'll be a the fireplace again (concerned for Hewg), so all her previous quest states have been essentially "completed". I believe since I never got past the quest point where she removed her hood (telling her about spirit tuning from Hewg), this crimson hood clothing doesn't appear at all. I have not gone into new game plus (I don't intend to) so I wouldn't know if it'll drop.
So don't bother being a chad like me and beat the game without summons, I mean just talk to her.
I'm joking I was using double bleed naginatas with sepukku and bhstep to beat the game lol. (I don't use it in pvp, 80 arcane occult scaling is just more based tbh

This wiki is incorrect about this item.
This is an OPTIONAL step for Roderika that serves as a way to obtain the red hood she wears.
(This is also why she doesn't wear it any more once she arrives at the Round Table Hold. Presumably, she gave it to you already even if you skipped this part)

Once you finish Stormveil castle and rest at the Lake Facing Cliff grace, she will automatically move to the round table hold to continue her questline.

was exploring in caelid before entering stormveil castle, got the hood instead of the crysalis and roderika moved to the hub by herself.

Most certainly does not need to be given to Roderika to open her shop and advance her quest. You CAN do this to advance her quest, but is not a requirement whatsoever. Never have I actually picked up this item, and I only entered Stormveil in ONE playthrough. Roderika is available in all of my files despite this.

she seems to just move when you reach stormhill, then once talking to her, and the blacksmith about her, she will move to the blacksmtih room and become spirit tuner.

I tested this, I went around Stormveil castle and rested at Lake-Facing Cliffs grace, and she moved to Roundtable Hold.

If you got this memento, but Roderika is already in the roundtable hold, you can still get the hood if you reload the area (you may need to talk to her in the roundtable first)

She left the house before i gave her this item. She left the seed in her place. She is active as spirit tuner but will not accept the item.

I never ever sa rodrika in roundtable. And she never unloked spirit taming. But in all my past playthroughs, the mement chrysalid was sitting in the corner of stormveil castle. In the corner before the margit fel fight.

I can confirm that the memento does not need to be given to her to complete her questline. In my game, she moved to Roundtable Hold and took up Spirit Tuning long before I ever set foot in Stormveil Castle. I too, got the Crimson Hood instead of the memento.

she moved to roundtable even before i entered stormveil castle. when i check the hut she previously at, i got golden seed laying on the floor.
i got scarf inside the castle. there's no memento

You don’t need to give this to her to progress her quest. Also instead of giving you a golden seed as a reward the seed will be at the shack she was in

I picked up the momento, but I didn't give it to her. She still showed up at the roundtable, and the quest progressed normally. When I went back to her shack to give it to her, she was gone. I did not hit the Liurnia bonfire early. She disappeared after I killed Margit.

I never got this item... In fact I never saw the Girl at the Stack......What I nd up doing was. After the 3rd grace. I tried to fight the Troll thing, lost and then when on a Rune Cheating hunting, Ran pass all the enemy's, got the Graces but did not rest, and went right to the Spirits fighting the army dudes. and the giant Spirit Dude.... BUT before going AFK there, I was at the Grace there and was taken to the Roundtable and there she was right by the fireplace. THEN later got her to be the Ashes Tuner, THEN when i went to Godrick's place, the spot where her item is to be at.. I got only the Hood she wore. Had me thinking she was killed.

I never got the memento. I talked to the smith and Roderika at Roundtable and then when I went to Stormveil for the first time I just found the red hood on the pile of corpses.

Anyone else go to the Roundtable after collecting the Crysalid's Momento at the castle and you're unable to give it to her? She just keeps saying she should try master tuning

I don’t know why everyone is getting different outcomes. I got the memento, immediately warped to the shack. Gave her the memento and she talked about moving to round table. Warped to round table and she was there at the main room (not near blacksmith). Exhausted her dialogue and she gave me the seed. She still had her hood.

I first went to the Roundtable where Roderika was, then talk to her and the smith in that place. Ported out, then back. After that she already opened her shop so when I was at this place of the Castle, in which i should have found this item, I just got the Crimson Hood instead!

If you have found a memento other than the one in Stormveil and progressed her quest line, you will instead find Roderika's abandoned cloak which increases HP

I still got the memento, not a crimson hood, and she moved to the roundtable all on her own. I didn't see a body where she was originally, but she left a Golden Seed where she was. I was still able to have her learn to be the vendor, but I'm stuck with the item and don't have the hood. Which is sad for me because i would have liked to wear the hood...

This has since changed since the network test.

Pre-Launch: This memento was required to further a quest chain which enabled the upgrades for summon-able spirits.

Post-Launch: This memento is now in the form of a wearable Scarf [Crimson Hood], the memento is not required to unlock spirit upgrading, this is done via a new method.

Theres multiple crysalid mementos, i got one from a woman who is on the road right below, right after the Bridge of Sacrifice to Morne castle, and she asks me to deliver the memento to her father who is in Morne Castle. Sadly no one has uploaded anything about that one. Cuz i cant find her father.

I tried to give it to her, but it did not give the option. She has already set up shop though. and I returned and also found the hody (and she is alive) So either my playthrough is bugged or or it has other conditions.

This is now a Red hood, with the same memento attached to it, that is in the form of a scarf.

This isn't true. While it cam be given, it isn't needed for her quest line. I got Hot Rod to roundtable without ever going into stormveil, let alone even looting this. Not sure what it does.

Careful not to convince the blacksmith to teach her before giving her the momento otherwise you’ll find her crimson hood instead of the momento. And she’s dead too.
