This epic boss didn't have a remembrance but some random no name skeleton knight with a ghost horse did? We could've just gotten both his weapon and sorcery but they decided to give him a remembrance. Then BAYLE THE DREAD, THE OLDEST AND MOST VICIOUS OF ALL DRAGONS THAT CHALLENGED THE DRAGON LORD just gives us a dragon heart to use once per playthrough? alright.

      • People mention this sucks cuase it can't be duped like a Rememberance , but also it has no cool lore tidbit like real remembrance either.
Like cmon, give us something about where he came from or him fighting the placidtwosacks

Both incants currently suffer from From being afraid of them being too strong. Unfortunately they're too weak because of this, but they are really cool. We also totally deserve to be able to duplicate the heart somehow, like how a remembrance can. Hopefully we'll get a balance patch that at least buffs the incants, but I am afraid that they probably won't let us dupe the heart

This is frankly disappointing. The heart is no substitute for a remembrance. We should have gotten flame lightning breath instead of Bayle's flame lightning, then a remembrance that can be traded for Bayle's bone talon, a reaper that scales with arcane, and has Bayle's flame lightning as a weapon skill. Maybe the other remembrance option could be a helm that looks like Bayle's head, matches the Drake knight set, and adds 3 fai 3 arc, with -6% hp, due to Bayle being injured.

doing this without a respec for the dragon-hunter's great katana was insanely difficult, at least at shadow level 7. melee only, no torrent either.... I'm still exhausted

Stagger him with head hits, when he drops go ham with weapon arts and take him down to 10% before phase switch.

Focus on surviving until aggro shifts to npc summon; go nuts on tail with frost/heavy weapons, visceral his face when his poise breaks. In phase 2, jump after rolling when you dodge lightning swipes, this will allow you to also dodge the crackles on the ground. Same strat as phase 1 with slightly different timing/heal windows.

I'm so pissed that we can only get 1 bayle incantation. You can't even drop the heart and incantations, so it's not even possible to trade with other players. And I don't wanna go to Ng+ for this at all

Used the spear throw ash of war to break stance and claws to slice him up while he’s down, took me about 30 tries but I got him. With how much he moves I feel like you gotta use something with at least a little bit of range

Would have been absolutely ****ign impossible without that dragon hunter great katana. Best dragon fight they’ve ever made though absolutely fantastic just beat him

Managed to take this jerkwad out in around 50 tries after giving up on hitting the head and going for the tail.
