These are my favorite sets in terms of visuals.
5:war surgeon, despite how hated the mask is, I think the whole set looks quite nice together.
4:Tree sentinel, I love the gold, the cape looks amazing in my opinion.
2 Clean rot: I really like the rugged looks of the cape, and the little details on the design.
2:twinned: I know this one is controversial, but I really like the silver and gold colors, and the fact that this looks almost like ritual or celebration armor.
1:High page set, bet you didn’t see this one coming, idk why I like it, I just have gained a soft spot for this armor set and I try to wear it as much as possible.

I still love the bone mask from the raptor set. Dark sorcerer outfit is the Night Cavalry chest, Bone Mask helmet, Preceptors gloves, and Nights Cavalry greaves. Could also do the Bandit Mask, and swap out the preceptors gloves for the Nights Cavalry if you got enough equip load.

The pieces all come together nicely. The dark-brown gauntlets & boots add a nice bit of contrast to the white cloth, and they do a good job of both filling out the empty space left by the Goldmask Rags and drawing attention to your character's head & torso (since they're covering your character's limbs, obviously). It has shades of the Antiquated Plain Garb from Ringed City, and pairs well with anything Dex related, like lightning-infused weapons or dual curved swords.
...And, depending on your preferences, it can also look especially good on female characters, since the Goldmask Rags are pretty revealing, but your mileage will vary on that.

Another drip i use in arena duels is Malenia's Helm + Tree Sentinel torso + Traveler's Manchette + Bull-Goat legs. You get 75 poise, super good overall resistances and you look like a freaking golden valkyrie. Fashion AND functional.

Since people are posting their drip, here one that goes with any build since you can simply change the torso : Malenia's helm + Traveler's manchette + bull goat legs + any soldier torso. Playing with a fire build ? Redmane soldier's. Int build ? Cuckoo's. Lightning ? Leyndell's. Holy ? Elphael's. The mausoleum one also fits well and reaches 60 poise with decent overall absorptions (everything above 20%).

Kinda hate how on most armor they didn't even bother trying to fit it the female body type's shape. They just copy pasted the male variant. Huge arms, broad shoulders and flat chest, literally looks like a walking fridge. No shape whatsoever. In DS3 they did a better job.

Imagine if fromsoft made a game where armor customisation was similar to what it was like in Morrowind where you can wear individual armor pieces and have pauldrons and wear armor specific capes on other armor sets. Taking it step further, imagine if fromsoft gave you the option to wear undergarments purely for the drip or recolor armor sets. Please fromsoft.

I get it, elden ring had to start from a blank slate and every single set is new and all that but... dark souls 2 had like 30 sets more while being smaller? and any of them were recolors. That and the lack of distinguishable animations/armor features between genders, uh I mean, "body types" makes every character I play with feel samey

People are just being salty that armor sets with highest poise/defense values aren't also the most fashionable. I genuinely hope froms will not change this tendency in DLC so pro gamers will further stick to scaled/veteran/tree sentinel sets and cry about it.

After playing the recent Lords Of The Fallen I can't go back to the fashion with this game. LOTF has some issues for sure but the ability to dye your armor different colors means you can mix and match whatever sets of armor you like and make them look like one coherent set with a simple push of a button. Dozens of different dyes.

The next souls game NEEDS this feature. Imagine taking the knight set from this game for example and instead of the blue and silver it's now gold and red.

Fashion is such a big part of this series and especially with Elden Ring so many of sets are so goofy looking that mixing pieces is just so silly looking.

I wish weight had some kind of slight direct relation to your equip load and effects you would get from it, like when it comes to rolling, you can only roll in three different ways depending on what your armor is, light, med, and heavy. If you look at all the armors in the game, some are objectively worse than others, because an example is like while it may weigh more, youd still have a med load either way so it doesn't matter even if you think it looks way better and fits with your character. If equip load had some direct relation, like maybe your equip load ratio would directly affect your movement speed or something like that. If that happened literally every armor piece wouldn't be OBJECTIVELY better than the others, like at least you would always have some small way to justify wearing something you think looks better.

Apparently FromSoftware's idea of good looking armor for women is just towels. They didn't even bother modifying a lot of the armor models for female characters. If most of the armor sets were made only with male characters in mind, you might as well just delete the body type choice in the character creation menu, because the vast majority of the times it doesn't even have a perceivable difference other than maybe being generally smaller (no, that's not the solution).
It seems like the devs didn't look for enough opinions for the armor designs, for a series partially known for it's fashion, of all things. Giant missed opportunity, I hope the DLC adds more diverse armor, but even then it will probably be a chore to get it because you would have to play half the game to access it, so it would only have half the effect it should've had.

I don't understand how sorcerers wear the most hideous armor sets I have ever seen in a souls game like lusats set and azure glintstone set and I see these sets alot in invasions and duels and my real question is do they wear it for Stat benefits or do they wear it cause they think it looks cool?

Really wish there were more "normal" armors. All of these are all either very artistic or look like they've been around for a couple of hundreds of years., I'm looking for stuff like Faraam, Drakeblood, Cathedral or Lothric Knight. In general, everything in this game looks very worn-down in general, like 90% of all weapons and armors look blemished in some way.

The problem with Elden Ring sets is that none of them matches well except when you wear the full set. DS3 sets not only has much better looking sets, but everything matches well. I hope the dlc fixes this.

One thing I wish From Software expands on in future games are armor pieces that provide bonuses other than basic damage negation and resistances. They do this quite a bit with headwear: there a lot of helmets that boost damage and gives extra attributes. But most of the chest armour pieces, gloves and pants have nothing interesting in this regard.

If what I notice appears to be the case, heavier armor is practically pointless, in the more recent update? Everything seems to stagger. Which means
Bull-Goat and Veteran wearers are either going to make lighter builds are quietly retire the game.
