...if you're wearing the whole set. there's something about how skinny your legs look when you wear anything else other than the BK greaves with the chestpiece throws me off. makes it so that i can never mix and match the set with anything except veteran's set.

As far as for pure damage negation, I haven't found any other "heavy" armor set that can beat this. The only two sets I have that are comparatively better overall are the Bull-Goat Set and the Tree Sentinel Set. Even the mega drippy Crucible Armors have less negation, too.

With bull-goat talisman, swapping the Gauntlets and greaves for Veteran pieces brings you at 99 / 100 poise depending if you use altered version or not. Just 1 poise short for the 101 breakpoint if you still want to respect the cosplay. Damn.

This set both altered and unaltered are pure drip. My go to choice for both good poise and good fashion. I personally love the plume however if you don’t like it I recommend the greathelm. Now if only you could have knight in your name without it being k***ht. Maybe one day

The altered helmet looks kind of stupid with the hood ornament on top, and the altered chest looks kind of stupid with the random horn jutting out of your shoulder, but I really like the look of the unaltered helmet with the altered armor. It gets rid of the hood ornament, the weird hair, the random horn, and the cape.

Somehow farmed the complete set from the Knight at the Dragon Cathedral in about 15 minutes. Thats about as lucky as I've ever gotten in this game lol.

I love the blend of colors and function on the unaltered chestpiece, looks really unique and cool. If you're looking for alternate legs to match it, I recommend not going for anything that has metal on it; the tint is almost bound to not match (yes that includes scaled greaves). Instead, try going for some cloth / leather pants, e.g. leather trousers, leather boots, and so on.

Love the unaltered helm with unaltered chest paired with Briar Knight greaves and mitts.

I was terrified to have to farm those teleporting chuds for the unaltered chest but the Bolt of Granseax(sp, whatev) before you cross the bridge, before the wolves really notice or attack you, knocks the dude on his keister and buys enough time for you to toss the next two bolts to finish him off before he can ever teleport. Wolf got in the way once. Shard of Alexander helped.

Radahn Armor
Gauntlets are flexible but Banished, Crucible, Veteran or Cleanrot are all great choices
Cleanrot or Malformes Dragon Greaves
As for the weapon it can really go on preference but the Marais Executioner Sword looks phenomenal with this fit

This set is frustrating. I just wish I could get the altered helmet without the goofy hair, and get the unaltered chest piece just without the cape because the altered chest piece looks terrible and loses all of the cool details. Still though the unaltered set looks great even if the colors are a bit off with the hood. Good luck farming it though.

This is easy (if tedious as usual) to farm at the dragon cathedral early on, including the sword and shield. currently having fun being an ally summon, roleplaying as Banished Knight Oleg with dual banished knight swords and quickstep

Tree Sentinel Set has better stats, except for Vitality. Also Tree is a guaranteed drop after a quick mini boss fight in Deeproot Depths.

I had the unaltered chest piece drop a few days ago from the halberd wielding knight near Niall's boss area. The 'stone of gurranq' incantation shut him out of using any of his attacks against me. That's significant in terms of storm assault, it does big damage if he lands it. You need the FP and stamina to make it work.
I was able to get into a reasonably efficient kill - reset - kill = purple glow loop with him, It took the edge right off the inherent risk in a prolonged fight against a strong enemy.

Bernahl's beast champion set is one of the nicest looking heavy armour sets in the whole game, as long as you use any other helm with it, there are a few that look good with it which is fortunate seeing how bad the beast champion helm looks.

Another nice looking armour set with a stupid or outright bad looking helm. The long hair on the altered helm doesn't always show, it depends on the chest piece but by sods law the long hair would show on the chest armour the helm belongs to.

The Veteran set's gauntlets and greaves are modeled after this set's. Combining them with the unaltered banished knight helm/armor and wearing a blindfold dyed the same wine red as the rest of the cloth in the set is my favorite look in the game. It feels complete.

For people looking for an alternative to this armor because they don’t want to farm it, if you haven’t been to volcano manor yet you can go to the warmaster’s shack right at the beginning of the game in limgrave and kill Bernahl, this will give you his full armour set which is better than the altered banished knights armour l, however will lock you out of getting the raging wolf armour set, but all in all it is a very easy way to get one of the best armour sets in the game as soon as you start

For the unaltered chest, which is the hardest and last piece you will get (and also when this armor overtakes Radhan set) my farming method was exiting the church, sprinting up the ladder, killing the one enemy there. Running around the scaffolding and jumping down. Quickly killing the knight, then teleport back to church if nothing drops.

I think the most infuriating thing about the dual wield knights, is the way they continue to spam their stupid combos after they’ve 2 shot you.

Farming the unaltered chest piece as been pure RNG as to wether they actually stagger or not.

Nevermind, I found a better way. From the Castle Sol Rooftop Grace head just outside the entrance to the stairs. Snipe the banished knight to the west, he will teleport directly to you.

To find one of the banished knights that drops the UNALTERED armor: start at the church of the eclipse in castle sol. Exit the door, turn right and go up the short ladder. Follow the path until you get to the wood bridge, he will be just past it with the two white wolves. I would recommend wearing the black knife armor chest piece so you run right past the first knight without having to sneak. Also grab a bow so that you can trigger only the knight (otherwise its a gangbang with two wolves thrown in). That's the easiest way I have found.
