Eccentric Set Elden Ring Notes and Tips
- The Eccentric's Hood can be altered to the Eccentric's Hood (Altered) to remove the hood.
- This set's design is inspired directly from the armor once worn by German Landsknecht, elite mercenaries who were often hired and served underneath the Holy Roman Empire. They were especially famous for their use of the Zweihander greatsword.
- The real-life profession and mercenary lifestyle of the Landsknechts could explain why Witch Hunter Jerren is described to have a "nomadic lifestyle" in the set's description.
- Poise updated to patch 1.07. See Patch Notes for details.

Idk what it is with NPCs not dropping their special loot after completing their questline, but it needs to start.
I don’t wanna have to kill him just for his armor, but it’s the ONLY way to get it if you side with him. It’s backwards and stupid.

I helped him kill Sellen, then I gave him the same fate for his armor. It's a shame he was seemingly friends with Iji and wasn't a bad person, but that's the way the cookie crumbles when I didn't want Sellen to suffer a fate worse than death, he drops a swanky armor set, and he disappears forever after the quest completes anyway. Rest in peace, Not-Gael.

Pretty dumb this is yet another set locked behind multiple bosses and an unintuitively designed quest line.

I was wondering how I missed this, why tf do I have to murder him for this? I thought they were done with that **** after DS1
- Old Aristocrat Cowl
- Eccentric's Armour
- Spellblade's Gloves
- Eccentric's Breeches
Combine with Gavel of Haima, Rainbow Stone arrows, and a spinning weapon (Cold infused Flail is funny) for a Jester.

For inspiration on this armor set I recommend you check out the Landsknecht online. These were famously dangerous German mercenaries during the European Renaissance who used a combination of pike formations (pikes are essentially spears but extra long, like 10 - 20 feet long), large two handed swords and early firearms to destroy both infantry and cavalry on the battlefield.

Wear without helmet for man at arms from darkest dungeon's armor

So if I didn't kill him instantly after defeating Sellen and he despawned the set is gone? What a bs

Maybe allready posted: I got the set after siding with him and killing sellen and then killing him after obtaining the dragon smithing stone at the door.

If u want the Dragon Smithing Stone that Jerren gives u after helping him kill Sellen but u also want the armor set he wears you can still get it if u kill him after he gives u the smithing stone in the gate of Rennala boss room.
Poor Jerren, he has to die due to the Gael inheritance. But the drip is needed D:

When I saw Jerren for the first time at Radahn Fest '22, I knew I needed them for the rest of the playthrough. Didn't like the helm, so I replaced it with the Sage Helm from Gowry. Add in the Twinbird Kiteshield, the most colorful shield in the game, Regalia of Echoaid Sword and Varre's Bouquet and I had probably the most colourful character in Elden Ring.

I made a jester outfit from this and aristocrats old cowl with riviera chest piece. Removed that silly cape of course. If you like this armor but hate the helmet then use radahn foot soldier helmet.

Jerren got a cool voice and all but I needed this here german mercenary fit

Gonna have to get that at some point. I like Jerren as a character but Landsknecht fashion is Landknecht fashion and I really just need the chest and breeches.

Still here? Hand it over, that thing, your dark soul, for my lady's painting

Possible to kill Jerren before the Sellen Quest? Then revive him through Celestial Dew, then choose to side with Jerren?

I really enjoy the way this armor looks. Fits a lot of weapons as well.

Can you get his set by just killing him without doing the quest?

Every time I try to equip the "ECCENTRIC'S HOOD" my game crashes (on PC)

I’m so happy this has good defensive stats. It would have been a shame if it had the stats of light armor.

So this is what happened to gael after so many chosen ones clowned on him.

I feel so ****ing bad for killing Jerren after helping him put down Sellen but I HAD to get this set. Literally since I started the game I was going for kind of a "old landsknecht" look, even used fitting weapons (zwei, halberds, crossbow). It's like Miyazaki personally handcrafted this one for me lol

You can actually side with him against Sellen, get her crown and ballbearing, talk to him to get the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone and THEN kill him to get his set too

You can get this armor from Witch Hunter Jerren, by either killing him in Sellen's area in the ruins, or siding with her towards the end of her quest.

The german landsknecht mercenaries are also the source of inspiration for the GiantDad.
He uses a zwei and wears a bearded mask too
