Royal Remains Set Elden Ring Notes and Tips

  • Slowly replenishes HP when HP is reduced. Which is 2 HP per second (per piece, for a total of 8) while under 18% HP.
  • The passive of this armor ensures the player will not die to the DoT effects of the Poison status effect or Fire's Deadly Sin incantation (if cast by the wearer). As such, it can be decent in PvE for the purpose of exploring poisonous dungeons like the Seethewater Cave or Abandoned Cave.
  • It has good protection and poise for an early- to mid-game armor set that is quite easy to get without farming, but is later overtaken by other sets such as the Scaled Set, Raging Wolf Set or Blaidd's Set.
  • Because the armor pieces will only heal the player up to 18% of max HP, they can be utilized with the Red and Blue-Feathered Branchswords and Twinbird Kite Shield to maintain the latter's effects without unintentionally healing out of their effects' range (Below 20% of max HP).
  • Poise updated to patch 1.07. See Patch Notes for details.

I'm not sure why but every time I get the urge to make a really annoying hp regen pvp build i forget that this set only regens hp at low health. Still a cool passive and I wish more armor sets had something similar.

      • Anonymous

How many people have you seen wearing this set, using the sword of night and flame, carian knight shield and no vigor.

        • Anonymous

This actually keeps you in hypermode range so equipping both of the Feathered Branchsword talismans is a good idea with this armor set

          • Anonymous

With this set you can be a bonewheel if you have the spiked palisade shield and caestus with lightning ram, then you two hand the caestus and it puts the shield on your back and lightning ram lets you role to be a very convincing bonewheel.

            • When I first started playing this game, I used to think this set was mediocre because of the defenses it provided for its weight, and that the regen couldn't help you survive all too well because 18% of your maximum health isn't a lot of health meaning you'll still get one-tapped. Then I learned about stacking the Blue-Feathered Branch Sword with the Twinbird Kite Shield and Black Flame's Protection, and then it clicked. All of a sudden, those innate defenses of the armor don't really matter and the +8 health a second when at low health is quite a lot better than initially advertised. It's honestly kind of absurd the amount of survivability this set provides, no wonder you see sweats hot swap to this when they get low on health.

              • Anonymous

It's hilarious when people in pvp quick swap their entire set to this in 2 seconds and then proceed to die in 1 hit

                • Anonymous

Hot take: this set would look cool asf if they changed three things. 1- make all the jeweled ornaments symmetrical as well as larger. 2- make the candle sitting against the rondel (armpit guard thingy) ignited. 3- make the bones actually gold- as in matching the Gilded Iron Shield, which ALMOST is Elden Bling with this set. Yes, it would just be pimp Darkwraith, but it would look cool.

                  • Anonymous

A Cool and fashion armor but made for a really specific niche. Kinda wish its HP regen would apply above 18% of health in a nerfed way so you could go for a full icon shield + mountain dew talisman build but this is still better than nothing.

                    • Anonymous

the full royal remains + branch swords + twinbird shield literally makes your mimic tear immortal, its insane

                      • Anonymous

If you look closely you can see parts of the body/armour have jewels embedded in them. Fitting that the body belonged to a royal since in Europe there exist real life examples of bejeweled skeletal remains belonging to catholic saints and nobles.

Mechanically a great set; I always want to use it throughout my playthrough. I can excuse the sash and the big open segments around the waist, but man, that rusted, decayed look is not appealing. I'm a fan of bone themed armors, but I can't make myself use a set that looks like a smith haphazardly threw some bones into cast iron armor.
The darkwraith set, while edgy, was form fitting and thematically appropriate, being literal bone formed around knights who dedicated themselves to the liberation of the dark soul. Even DS:3's version, worn as it was, looked better than this.

I’ve been running a vampire build with bleed Star Fist with AoW: Lifesteal Fist/power stance Rivers of Blood/Dragon Communion Seal and this armor at light load that has been super fun. Takes 92 goddamn endurance to pull the thing off without Great Jars Talisman, but I can use the RWSI, Lord of Blood’s Cherry Gushers, Taker’s Cameo and the Swaddling Cloth and I get some *crazy* bleed at 60 Arcane. I do my darndest to fight everything with the Star Fists, but some enemies you just need some extra range to get hits off and I’ll use the RoB’s to anime edgelord things to death that my masochist oven mitts can’t reach. And to counter invasions when co-oping, because punching player models in this game is like trying to catch a greased pig.

Thank you Ensha, for being a greedy prick about the medallion and giving me an idea for an absolutely, grand ol’ time :D

                            • With this, twin kite shield and branch talismans I win duels that I shouldn't win. It's very strong. Can counter it with poison + a fast chase down weapon though but you really need the poison, otherwise they can trade infinitely as long as they manage the regen well, RKR could work too but it's abusable by the opponent. It is also on a str build which buffs my flat defense a lot which works well with the insano mode % defenses you get with all the buff stacks.

The hp regen should be explained better in the description. I assumed by "when your hp is reduced" it meant while under some other effect that lowers your max hp.

would be a cool bonus of this armor to have super high robustness, or provide bonus robustness at low hp. the low hp shenanigans are kinda moot by the existence of huge percentage chunk damage

I think this would look amazing with a long, tattered cape like Radahn's.
From could just make Ensha wear the altered version and let the player reattach the cape via altering.

Definitely not useless, ate 3 GUGS pokes under 20% and lived using this, endure, and black flames protection. It is situational though, won't save you from a bolt of Granddaddysaxaphone at 40 percent health.

                                      • Anonymous

The one character I have, who is not yet in NG, with whom I wanted to create a build with this set, is missing all of the pieces except the helm. I feel pretty certain I did not sell them as I hoard everything unique out of habit. I can't be sure when I lost them or how since he's pretty late game now.

Has anyone else experienced this, or did I just lose/sell them absent-mindedly and can't remember doing it?

                                        • Anonymous

This is for true edge lords. Blue/red feather branch sword, 60 vigor. Then you choose whether to go dex/fth for eclipse shotel or dex/int for necromancer stuff. The armor stops regen at 18% so you don’t leave your 20% power zone.

                                          • Anonymous

Not gonna lie, it seems quite useless. Like, 8 HP/s is not bad, but it only works if you are below 18% of your max hp, meaning unless you have an utterly ungodly amount of health, the regen might not even buy you a single extra hit.

                                            • Anonymous

Regen bonus is nice for builds that use the Kindred of Rot's Exultation and/or the Fire's Deadly Sin incant. It's a shame it only procs on low health, RIP Elden Ring Deadpool build.

                                              • Anonymous

The helm goes very well with aristocrat, upper-class robe or any other clothing with a noble look to it. Gives a macabre air to it i think, like in old paintings depicting death's inevitability.

                                                • Anonymous

Im confused so was Ensha actually a skeleton or was he just wearing the skull of the soulless king who is also named Ensha? The item description makes it sound like Ensha was a skeleton person.

                                                  • Anonymous

They should just make it passively regen HP without any special condition. The current one is practically useless.

                                                    • Anonymous

blessing of the erdtree(12 hp), this entire set(8 hp),blessed dew talisman(2 hp),icon shield(3 hp) nets you 25 hp a sec. dont forget the old lords talisman for extra time with blessing of the erdtree

if you think this set is beautiful Google: Dark Souls 2 Dark Set, and see how it looked way cooler back then, and now it looks like vomit

                                                          • Anonymous

It sounds like it wouldn't been an amazing armor set if the regen weren't completely useless during combat situations. It only regens below 18% of max HP, and doesn't do anything more - making it worthless for almost every situation.

                                                            • Anonymous

Health regen only works if your HP is less than 18%, which is fitting because only people under 18 would want to wear it anyway.

I think we can all agree that this particular note is 100% factually accurate.

                                                                • Great, so it appears you cant get this if you progress too far without teleporting back to the roundtable. Anther piece of content youre locked out of if you dont move through the campaign in a very specific way that you are given zero guidance for.

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                          • I see an awful lot of inexperienced players wear this. I guess it's because they think it has an actually good Regen effect and haven't yet learned of the holy ways of fashion souls.

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

It's a pretty slow regeneration, but it helps you not to die to poison or rot when you ran out of flasks.
