Aspects of the Crucible: Thorns is an Incantation in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Incantation in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Aspects of the Crucible: Thorns spell creates multiple thorns in the back of the caster's back and starts rolling around dealing damage.
Aspect of the Crucible that manifested in golden hippopotami. Creates a bristling mass of thorn-like fur on the caster's back before scouring the area by rolling around on the ground. Charging increases potency. In an age long past, before this land was enshrouded in shadow, the vitality of the Crucible flourished. Remains of this can be seen in the ancient ruins.

Should have a hidden interaction with Lightning Ram where it actually does damage

yeah this thing is pretty stinky. outclassed by tail in dmg, stance dmg, range, and cast speed. doesn’t help that its also much harder to obtain. hope it gets buffed soon bc it’s fun breakdancing as sonic, but there’s too many better options for aoe at the moment

This is definitely one of those items/spells that's gonna get buffed in a future patch. There's weak, but niche effective stuff that's always present in FromSoft games. But this...is literally only good because we get a glorious buttshot in the Icon Art.

This incantation is excellent in many ways. Using it to deal damage is not one of them.

Fromsoft: “Let’s make a crucible Incant, but instead of making it do anything useful, make it objectively worse than an already existing crucible incant”

Man, i was so excited to use this. I tried it right away on the 3 enemys you see after defeating the boss... im 80 faith btw.. the spikes did like 3%damage on their health and i got my as kicked by 3 simple enemy's, because i was spamming the incantation hoping it would do some more damage.

Aspects of the Crucible: Thorns is silent, only alerting enemies it damages. This is not particularly useful since its aoe may damage enemies you aren't targeting, and the damage is too low to quickly eliminate single targets, but at least it's somewhat unique.

Expectation: hehe I'm sanic gotta go fast!

Just wait until people find Aspect of the Crucible: Wings. Its absolutely nuts with a TwinBlade.

With 80 faith and being litterally point blank range with a largeish target like a hippo this thing can hit decently hard fully charged, like a few thousand. But you even slightly step away from the target and suddenly the spell is worthless.
