Rain of Fire is an Incantation in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Incantation in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Rain of Fire spell summons a massive cloud of flame that rains fire for a short period of time.
Incantation of Salza, sage of the Fire Knights. Summons a cloud of flame overhead that rains fire for a short time. Charging increases potency. Salza's disdain for barbarism never waned, even as he burned more villages and scorched more land than any other.

Where to find Rain of Fire:
- From the West Rampart Site of Grace, take the bridge all the way. Use Torrent to avoid being trapped in the Rain of Fire. Defeat the Fire Knight at the end to obtain this and Salza's Hood. [Map Link]

- Stamina Cost: 31
- Fire Knight's Seal provides a boost of effectiveness for this spell
- Messmer's Helm and Messmer's Helm (Altered) boost Messmer Fire Incantations
- Fire Knight Armor boosts Messmer Fire Incantations by 5%
- Can be charged to increase potency. (27 FP and 40 Stamina)
- Can't be cast while riding.
This HAS to be bugged, there is no shot it does so extremely little damage

My jaw DROPPED when I saw the damage of this incantation WITH buffs.
It has to be, bar none, the WORST incantation damage to FP/requirements wise. Legit never thought I'd see the day that a spell made ELDEN STARS look good. Honestly seeing this made me wonder what intern they put in charge of all spells before the releases, and then get around to it 2-7 patches later fixing it. There's simply no way anyone checked this spell before release.

So Salza is a HE. Lol. Information and lore is the most important part about this shoddier (how tf is this even possible lol) version of Founding Stars

As many have said before me, this spell does jack **** damage wise. Inescapable when Salza spams it whether using torrent or bloodhound's step, but everything else either out ranges it entirely or only takes 25-40 damage per hit and is only hit like 3-4 times anyways. Swarm of Flies does more damage in a single hit than the entirety of this spell hitting a large target, and that's without bleed proc.

Part of me wants to think that the incantation scaling multiplier was set wrong accidentally, like they meant for it to be a 0.6x scaling multiplier but instead accidentally set it to 0.06 which is why the damage is so low. But considering how Founding Rain of Stars was on release, and how Crystal Hail was in DS3, and Soul Shower was in DS2... I think there's actually a longstanding member of the dev team who REALLY hates these kinds of spells conceptually and is just sabotaging them in each game and no one else on the team is noticing or telling them to stop.

Using this on human sized enemies is a joke, using your fists without weapons could be more effective.

Seems like a developer in From Soft has a hate boner for faith build/ based spells lol, nerfed blasphemous and the horn, all "top tier"/ high requirement faith spells deal **** damage, easily beaten by a sword swing from a random weapon. Well at least the utility spells of faith works alright (resistance, buffs, etc).

I swear there are some incantations that are hella bugged and not scaling with anything at all. There is no way a 52 faith requirement incantation is supposed to like 30-40 damage a tick for 4-5 ticks. I HOPE it's broken as hell and not working as intended. Especially because other incantations also do next to no damage.

Like the Magic version, this one is good for finishing up passive opponents that are low on health. Not good for anything else.

This spell is in contention for one of the LEAST damaging spells in the game. Used it against the troll in front of Godrick's arena with a Golden Order +10 seal and 80/80 int/fth... It did less than 80 damage per hit and barely hit it... A troll... At the start of the base game... With a min-maxed seal...

God damn this thing sucks. 52 faith requirement and it does 500 dmg with a +10 Erdtree Seal at 99 Faith. for 27 fp? Freaking FLAME SLING does almost 3x the damage of this pos

Absolutely terrible incantation. At max charge, using max level seal, with 52 faith=deals only 130 damage to an enemy.

This spell looks and sounds weak. It needs its effects tweaked because it doesn't feel powerful or satisfying to use. Definitely should last longer and the fire should have slight variations on speed and size.

I guess the use for this is against 0 poise casters? Honestly, for the damage it does, it should last longer.
