Given to knights who, whether by misfortune or misdeed, were forced to abandon their homes.

Most of these knights were sent to the fringes, where they were forced to start anew with only despair for company.

  This is just my wild imagination, but I see a small resemblance to Dark Souls 1 crystal greatsword here. You get this weapon at +8 if you kill Edgar, and crystal greatsword has almost identical stats 190 C/C compared to a bastard sword+8, which is 189 C/C (according to dark souls wiki) . I don't think there's a connection here, but still, that +8 caught my attention.

  I only wish it had slightly higher damage. At the same upgrade level, the bastard sword (which is far from the most damaging greatsword) has slightly higher damage. So even if it has more range, imo, halberds should have a bit more dmg, particularly for a vagabond build, using both swords and halberds in reasonable yet better examples than early game ones.

  Reasons you should use this weapon:
  
  -Good scaling in pure strength, and dex. Fantastic scaling with cold and the occult scalings
  
  -Great Moveset with a poke R1 and horizontal slash heavy
  
  -Has a true 2H jumping R2 into 2H R1 combo (one of the only weapons that can combo by itself)
  
  -Can uses various ashes of war
  
  -Looks sick as hell
  
  Easliy my favorite weapon in the game, I only wish it had better faith scaling...

  A very good weapon for pure int/faith builds. Low requirements and good damage, plus the halberd class is probably the most well rounded class in the game. Slicer + this + pebble, or catch flame + this + flaming strike is really all you need for pve/pvp. Pretty cheesy, but very effective

  Just saw this in my inventory randomly after clearing some Caelid areas. At first I thought I pumped a random halberd to +8 in a stupor…it is amazing though for Arc builds and was the first spectral lance candidate (occult ofc) that I have come across. Very hard to find occult affinity in early game so spectral lance is great. Love the safe pokes and the very strong jump R2 swing

  Saw someone use this high poise and an estoc in their other hand and they were literally unstoppable. Of course flame strike was the WA for extra cancer burns. This thing is an example of what they need to do to all weapons and make them good and useable but not OP. This is one of the few weapons where if I lose a duel they were just better than me.

  Really good arcane scaling, using occult with spectral lance on dragon incant build. Spectral lance gives nice range and low fp plus great stagger, good compliment for dragon spells plus range of weapon itself keeps enemies at a distance. Perfect for dragon build if you prefer range to melee

  Edgar in the Weeping Peninsula's Castle in the South drops this Halberd +8 which is very, very strong early game. Killing Edgar for this Halberd does not break his quest. You just save him the pain of seeing his daughter murdered.

  Okay, but uninfused it's a dex-focused quality weapon(it hits C in dex waaay before str does). So why does the heavy infusion have better scaling than keen?
  
  I'm not calling for a nerf on the heavy infusion, though. I just think it'd be nice if Keen got bumped up to A as well.

  Amazing weapon for a pure arcane build. Occult +25 has an A scaling in arcane, and Seppuku can be applied to this weapon. Since Seppuku is treated as 90 "base bleed" which scales with Arcane, this halberd will have around 180 bleed buildup per poke alongside the enormous damage and stun potential. In my experience, this does not have the scuffed hitbox of the regular halberd.

  Switched from Dark moon greatsword +10 to this boi +25 with bloodhound step and frostbite infusion, my god, 139 frost buildup does frostbite in 2-3 stabs on malenia and around 4-6 on radagon, with its range and dodges with bloodhound step and very big poise dmg where you can stab malenia and radagon all over, you are the new god of lands between

  Love this weapon. 2H jumping R2 has incredible range, stuns most enemies, and can quickly be followed with R1. Running attacks are fantastic. With bloodhounds step ash of war this weapon has no weaknesses.

  This thing is a thing of beauty. If you kill the commander of Castle Morne, or finish his questline and defeat his invading form, you get a +8 version with Spinning Strikes. This Ash of War is insane, and one of the best Ashes one can acquire, in my humble opinion. You can "hold" the attack, which deflects arrows (possibly other forms of ranged attacks if the description is an indicator) before using either a light or strong attack for a different attack which destroys everything. Highly recommended.

  The +8 ruined my matchmaking for my low level character... Can't revert it either. Really hate that they think this is okay to do. It's like soul memory all over again but this time you play russian roulette with quest rewards that screw over low level your save file.

  Been using this my entire playthrough! Giant hunt for enemies where poise can be broken ( you can inifinite loop any normal mob that gets sent flying ) and repeating thrust with bleeding for ez bleeding proc
