Not sure if it was just a bug for me, but Edgar invaded me before I interacted with the Site of Grace. He killed me before I had a chance to activate the Site of Grace so I respawned at the Foot of the Four Belfries Site of Grace, then collected my ruins and activated the Site of Grace as he was invading me.

heads up (unconfirmed, just my play) I tried to get this weapon first thing from starting and he isn't spawning at all, might be a condition to talk to irina first? could always be bugged, not specified above

If you're struggling with this one and you are a mage, you can cheese this pretty easily - Edgar takes a while to spawn in and doesn't move all that fast so use that time to run south, directly away from the house, up to the rocky outcrop and jump up there. Hit him with Rock Sling while he dashes towards you. When he reaches you he will probably try and jump up to hit you, but eventually he works out how to get up. If he's not already dead, either switch to melee, or dash back to the house and hit him with another round of rock slings.

Kinda don't feel sorry for him. Dude had misbegotten as slaves. When the misbegotten rebel he thinks it's because they are just innately violent savages not because of the slavery. You even find misbegotten cowering in fear in the back of the castle torture rooms. I feel sorry for his daughter but not him.

I just noticed this but a few yards southeast of the shack there is a big dead misbegotten. So yes, he did get his revenge but he went insane in the process (frenzied). Im glad from included this, i was mad that we couldnt hunt down that scaly bastard ourselves.

This +8 weapon is great if you play offline, level 1 and no smithing. Fanged Imp Helm and Radagon's Scarseal enable one-handing it in Liurnia. It's my main melee weapon for boss fights here.

If you kill him earlier on (before the due invasion at Revenger's Shack) try going back to Irina's location and loot the grape from there.

I was getting mopped by this guy because I'm predominantly a magic user but then I equipped the Carian Knight Sword and charged it up and it easily beat him.

After 1.04 patch he invades as soon as you enter the area of the shack, not after interacting with the grace.

Went to see if the patch fixed his spawn and it seems it did. I'm in the Capital and have cleared Liurnia out, so don't worry about being locked out due to story progression.

As of patch v1.04 he now properly invades in Liurnia even after all the bosses in the region are cleared. I don't have the permission to edit the page.

He's apparently immune to frenzy damage (tested with inescapable frenzy), the frenzy proc still dealt the flat damage on him but he received 1 points of damage per tick.

I don't know how my quest with him broke so bad but not only is he not spawning as the revenger, he never even showed up in castle morne in the first place. I got the quest from Irina and went to castle morne and he was never even there. Even after beating the boss and going back to check he still wasn't there.

Initially, Edgar didn't invade.
I activated the Revenger's Shack grace, teleported away, back, and nothing happened. He didn't appear.

The solution that worked for me:
I went back to Irina's place first. He was not there.
I went back to his castle. He was on his bench. (you have to fight your way from the lift again to him)
(I swear he was not on his bench weeks ago after I killed his castle-boss).
Talked to him. Then visit him at Irina location. (I chose not to kill him, although I could have as that is a safer option).
Then I teleported to Converted Tower grace. Spent time until nightfall. Go up to Revenger's Shack grace on the horse.
He invaded. I killed him and received all the goodies (+8 halberd, shabriri grapes).

Note: "like most other NPC invaders, won't be able to invade you in Revenger's Shack if you've cleared all field bosses in the Liurnia region"
Hmm. I have already killed Rennala and the Erd Tree and he could still invade.

I started Irina's quest but forgot to go hand him the letter in the castle. He still showed up for me at the shack later but I'd already killed Rennala at this point too. Maybe it's tied to her too in some way? Because I have still haven't gone back to Morne and I am on Hyetta's quest.

Another "bugged quest" victim checking in. Bummer that this is not only blocking the completion of Irina & Edgar's quests but also blocking completion of the quest for Hyetta, as Edgar has one of the needed grapes.

Advice to anyone reading this: If you have him at Castle Morne, or next to Irina's body, just kill him there. Supposedly he will drop the grape & allow completion of both questlines.

A very buggy invader it seems. For some, spawns with no issue. For some, never spawns.
In rarer cases, he spawns, dies, and then RESPAWNS. Sometimes even several times.
I personally had to kill him consecutively four times before he stopped and I got the item.

I did not complete Irina and Edgars questline. I completely missed talking to either of them. I went to the Revengers Shack at Nightfall, and was invaded before touching the Site of Grace. Not sure if this will help anyone but this happened after lighting the Erdtree. I gave Hyetta her first Shabiri Grape, went to check on Irina, got the "She's Dead." Prompt, then proceeded to the Revengers Shack at Nightfall.

Perhaps there is another spot he will invade at if not the first one? I too am "bugged" and went to the shack, found corpses, no invade. Who knows he might of invaded me the first time I went there 60 gameplay hours ago, killed me, and never respawned? Anyways kinda mad as I had the chance to kill him twice and didn't do it cause I didn't read on the wiki here first....

This guy just kept instantly respawning as soon as I killed him, then I found the ghost on the shore nearby saying something like "love, revenge, frenzied flame melts it all away", so I equipped Vyke's spear, killed him and this time he stayed dead and I got the drops. I thought the "puzzle" was that you have to inflict frenzy/hit him with a frenzy weapon to kill him, and now I'm reading people actually have the opposite problem of him not spawning at all, instead of constantly, and no mention of any of this.

I started this quest when I received the letter from Irina but completely forgot to go to Castle Morne just getting distracted from exploring. I did end up at revengers shack and got invaded by Edgar. Killed him and got all items (including grape). Realized who he was and went to complete quest but never found him in the castle even after beating the boss and all. Of course Irina is dead but haven't seen him there. No clue how I was able to get invaded by him.

He also isn't spawning for me at the Revengers shack. However, after speaking with him over the body of his daughter, I actually bumped into him in the East ruins of Academy Gate town. Maybe there's more to his quest and there's somewhere else you need to meet him...

I believe to complete quest you must summon him to aid your fight in castle mourne.
When I don’t summon him he did not invade me later on.

I just confirmed - Edgar the Revenger begins his invasion before you interact with the site of grace, i.e. it starts as soon as you get near the shack, not when you activate the site of grace.

Okay, on my current NG+ playthrough, I simply did NOT talk to Edgar at Irina's location and got the invade on my first visit to the shack.
Could that be it?

For everyone saying its bugged I don't believe it is after reading through most of these comments everyone is saying "I beat the game and tried doing this quest" npc wont invade if you have already killed the area's main boss same happens for all the other ones just go to NG+ and do these quest before beating the game

Fairly certain interacting with the Grace at the shack before he spawns here messes this up. In my NG run, I encountered him with no issue my first time entering the shack; in NG+, I found the shack before completing their questline, and he wouldn't invade.

Really wish they didn’t force you to pick up a +8 weapon for the quest, or had a fourth grape that let you skip this guy so I wouldn’t be forced into a higher invasion bracket

ok so , it wont invade me at all , i tried to look at the girl corpse but nothing , i tried by coming from north and south , i tried speaking to the spectral dude saying something about edgar being mad ,i tried playing with time , i tried looking at the castle again , log off and back in . I ended the game tough , like its a old quest that i forget so i talked to him at the castle after beating the game , then at the girl corpse , but he wont invade even tough that the dead body are there and thats new . But the grace site was already activated , maybe that dosent help .

So I killed the boss at castle morne but didn't finish the Irina quest. I then killed Edgar the Invader at the revenger shack. I started Hyetta's quest and after reading through forums, I went back to finish Edgar/Irina quest, hoping that this would trigger the Shabriri grape at the revenger shack but unfortunately it seems that if you kill Edgar at the Revenger's Shack before finishing the Irina/Edgar quest, than the Shabriri Grape is unavailable. If anyone finds a solution to this, let me know. Hyetta is still at the third location for me, but there seems to be no grape available.

I don't know why people are saying he only uses physical attacks. When I fought him, he had a talisman and was blasting out a shockwave incantation once in a while.

During my run he didn’t come out.
These were my steps.
1) Went in Castle Morne
2) Killed the Ferine Misbegotten
3) Found Edgar
4) Talked to him and exhausted all dialogues.
5) Found Irina, took the letter and exhausted all dialogues.
6) Brought the letter to Edgar, exhausted all dialogues.
7) Restep
8) Send Edagar to Irina
9) Found him where Irina was killed.

When I came to the spot where he was supposed to invade he didn’t show up (what a rude man).
Tried to travel to another grace and back but nothing.
Tried to go to the spot where Irina was killed and found nobody.
Travelled to Castel Morne just to found it as I left it…without any trace of Edgar neither his drops….
I think I bugged the questline Rip.

Unless you really want to complete their questline and fight him at Revenger's Shack for some reason, the safest way to guarantee getting a grape from the Edgar, is just to kill him when you see him and reload the area (quit to main menu, load up again). Seemingly, nothing can be done about the fate of Irina, so it matters naught.

You don't need to interact with the site of grace. There is just a delay before he spawns. I went to collect the shinies first and he invaded amyways.

If he didn't invader you after delivering the letter,
1- visit Irina and confirm she is dead.
2- visit Edgar again and talk to him.
3- visit Irina and Edgar will be there.
4- teleport to any nearby Revenger Shack grace sites and go there.
5- multiple bodies in the shack and he will invade you.

Solution that worked for me: I killed the boss long ago never did step 2 which was to deliver the letter, so after delivering the letter from Irina I went to Edgar talk him until he said no more, went to the Revenger Shack. unfortunately the invader didnt pop up, so i went back to Irina, found out she was dead, told Edgar back at the castle, then went back to Irina body, Edgar was there talk to him until he said no more, went to the Revenger Shack 5 bodies appeared with the invader

ps the shabriri grape can be found on the original body after reloading where he died, he will be at irina body if you did her quest or at morne castle, just quit game then enter again to avoid teleport

Unfortunately the bug is still present. Edgar, after exhausting his dialogue has fully disappeared from the world. When heading to the Revenger's Shack, the 5 bodies with items spawned, but Edgar won't / can't invade. Tried a large variety of solutions as well as revisited the two areas Edgar should exist in if a mistake were made. Guess there's always next playthrough.

I've kill him at the tower (wanted his weapon) and I started doing her quest and now I can't get this 4sshat to invade me. Is it because I've killed him already when he was human or what gives???

It should be noted that it is mandatory to avoid killing this invader NPC if you intend to remain in low level and reinforcement matchmaking as the +8 weapon drop is reported to immediately break such matchmaking.

Got invaded, defeated him, then while loot popups happened was reinvaded. He was unhittable, so I left. Can back later and he was normal and I actually got the drops this time.

For those suffering from the invincibility bug:
Just west of the shack, there should be an outcropping of rocks. There's one you can stand on that's slanted. Hold your shield up, let him thrust above you and fall off the cliff. Managed to do this to him upon his second invasion on me with the bugged iframes.
