Lookout Stones are strange creatures composed of various sphere-shaped boulders and an uncanny eye. They often take the form of large worms made of stone or dull groups of seemingly lifeless rocks.
Locations
- Most commonly found around Evergaols in all regions. Almost all Evergaols are surrounded by large numbers of Lookout Stones.
- Occasionally found around other points of interest, such as groups of coffins.
- Large amounts of Lookout Stones are found in Caelid, in canyons near the Deep Siofra Well. Those that are curled in a pile will open their eyes and explode.

- They have unique attacks, such as swinging their body around wildly, smashing the ground, and even self-destructing themselves.

Maybe they are parasites that feed on whatever magic holds the evergaols and sleep whenever there's no source of energy nearby (like those in caelid). Idk they cute tho

There's a weird mix of comfort, yet pity I feel for these dudes. I don't know... I just wanna pat these things on the head and tell them "It's gonna be alright."

Are they potentially attracted to optional challenges? They hang around evergaols and the entire path leading up to the great jar’s challenge.

if you get close enough to these dudes, you can hear them blink

I like these bizarre little fellas, they just chillin, I can have an appreciation for almost anything that doesn't immediately try to murder me the millisecond they lay eyes on me.

Seriously no written lore on these bois, damn. They seem to have some relation to gravity and evergaols.

I got stoned and tried to jump on and ride one for 3 hours.

I can appreciate anything in ER that isn't trying to murder me in some horrible way.

This looks like an enemy from an NES game remade with painstaking accuracy to its source sprite

Spirit Ashes for Abnormal Stone homies or riot....I don't care that they are rocks.

I don't know if everyone noticed, but their attacks have been fixed now and they will attack you now if you attack them with an attack that damages them but doesn't kill them. They have a windmill attack which can stunlock you, a sine-wave pound attack and an exploding bomb attack. Attacking one of them does not aggro the others nearby

im guessing they have something to do with meteors, maybe related to fallingstar beasts and stuff. they emit purple light, associated with gravity magic, and they probably use that to hold themselves together

These things are so weird. Why are they chilling around evergaols? Why dont they attack us? I feel like they are the key to some weird lore. I still like them, they are cute.

I like these guys. They never attack me and just wanna mind their own business. They're cute in their own way too.

Actually, when they're static as a pile of rocks, if you go close enough, their eye opens, but they wont hum or glow or begin to explode yet (unless you're too close, of course). Very creepy.

They should start the bossfight if you kill all of the ones outside a gaol, that would be a neat interaction

i assumed they'd be from farum azula, since they always drop ruin fragments, but apparently not as i never saw any up there

I feel these are an equivalent of a modern CCTV camera. They are meant to watch the inmate in the evergaol, and raise the alarm if they try too escape, but they are not meant to fight you. Maybe they are also involved in giving the inmates in the evergaols food and water

Anyone else get a Sanctuary Stone to drop from one? I think I did as a rare drop
These things are just as useless as they look. I think they forgot to program them to attack, although I did get one to attack me once

I have no proof as I couldn't get past the first one of these shrines I came across. But it seems likely these "Generic Brand Purple Eyed Onyx" are tied in to the strength of the enemy in the portal.
Do they keep it contained?? Weaken everyone inside?? I killed all but one and I swear the thing inside moved at light speed. I've played all DS and Bloodborne. Dude moved like the first time I hit Eileen in BB thinking she was a enemy.
FAST.
Anyone with a stronger account should do some testing on that when they circle back or have downtime later. Just seems odd they are interacting with the site AND portal, but no one has tried to see how they are linked.
Whoever figures it out....gets....I don't know....a cookie or something!
They also take the form/shape of a pile/cluster of spheres at a set of broken graves. When approached at that form they explode.
I don't know, they seem pretty normal compared to other things in the game.
