Man-Serpent is an Enemy in Elden Ring. Man-Serpents are large humanoid lizards patrolling the lava-submerged town at Volcano Manor. Most Man-Serpents you'll find wield a sword and shield, but there is also a variation that attacks with a whip.
The spirit of a Man-Serpent can be summoned for aid in battle by using the Man-Serpent Ashes.

It is said that long ago, the elder serpent that dwelled on Mt. Gelmir devoured a demigod, and the birth of the man-serpents followed.

- Can be poise broken and riposted afterwards
- Supsectible to Bleed (245), Sleep and Frostbite (both 138).
- When put to sleep, they dont close their eyes (like real-life serpents), since they lack eyelids.
- Some wield a Magma Whip Candlestick, but do not drop it.
- Some wield an unignited Magma Whip Candlestick or unignited Magma Sword, but both are unobtainable.
- The Man-Serpent that wields the ignited Magma Whip Candlestick has somewhat inflated cheeks, somewhat like a bullfrog.

These guys and the fire prelates make whips seem much better than they really are

This was one of my favorite enemies in Dark Souls 1 because they dropped the Man Eater Great Sword, which was one of the strongest swords in the game if you had 99 strength.

For any pyromancer hitting a roadblock with these guys but refuse to use another element: use bloodflame blade. No fire damage and a little of physical, but blood loss buildup is gonna ruin their day.

The Lord of Blasphemy who literally sits in lava pool only has 80% fire resistance and those serpents are IMMUNE to fire... Really Froms?

The weird "Mage serpent is EXTREMELY INFLATED" tip is gone, kinda sad

These are tough as a pyromancer, I can tell you that haha. Needed to go and get frost gear just to get through Volcano Manor

Whoever decided that Volcanic stones need a 20% drop rate needs to be thrown into Mt. Gelmir.

What spells does the mage variant cast? From most videos, it seems to be just glintstone pebble.

Elden Ring Man-Serpent > Dark Souls 1 Man-Serpent > Dark Souls 3 Man-Serpent (especialy those dagger mf'ers)

The Mage ones with the eggs stuck on their heads are so goofy.

"The Mage-Serpent is extremely inflated." is my new favorite out of context sentence

These things are so adorable, rather funny considering how their father(?) is a grotesque horrifying immortal serpent abomination thats devoured countless amounts of champions/demigods.

I squeed when I saw the first one after prison church grace get all tall looking out over the town. What a bunch of cuties.

In the notes it says "The Mage-Serpent is extremely inflated." no it isn't. That's its eggshell stuck on its head.

Funny how one of the most disturbing areas is also inhabited by these oddly cute snek bois.

These guys absolutely suck. Their weird animations mean even with lockon, standing right next to them, your attacks will whiff at least a third of the time. Their giant grab attack puts them under many weapon hitboxes, and has that gross wait for dodges, and is too fast for it's damage. Also grants high poise. These guys only look cool, mechanically they're a mess.

bleh. Most of my spell loadout is based on fire damage. This won't be fun.

These guys are so cool and silly, unlike those bastard children in Archdragon Peak.
Does anyone have any knowledge of the Man-Serpent mage with the giant round (jar?) head. In the room with the Amnion.

The cutest enemy in the most disturbing area. Duality of man.

Perhaps the cutest iteration of the man-serpent in all Fromsoft games.

After 2 hours and at 200 discovery, I ended up getting 8 shields before 1 magma blade :')

They seem to be based on the black mamba snake, since their bellies are white and their backs grey

It is likely that the man-serpents are immune to fire as a flame of the redmane weapon art did not affect the man-serpent what so ever and the fire damage portion of the flame art infused weapon only dealt damage equal to the physical damage portion. Requires further testing for confirmation.

they may be immune to fire, flame of frenzy does no damage to them at all
