I’ve been farming these things for like a day straight. I have so many bone shards I could probably make a whole skull but I still don’t have a single Grave Scythe

      • To my knowledge, this is the easiest way to farm Skelemages in Limgrave. (Note: I said easiest, not fastest. There's probably a faster spot with more skeletons, but it's undoubtedly more dangerous.)
In northern Limgrave, close to where you find D for the first time, is the Summonwater Village Outskirts site of grace. Directly ahead of the grace is Summonwater Village, and there are ruins on both sides of the flooded section. If you're looking at the village from the grace, there is a skeleton mage and two skeleton militiamen waiting inside the first set of ruins to the right of the flooded section. One militiaman is laying on the ground pretending to be dead when you first come in, and the other militiaman is guarding the mage next to a window. This location takes about 5 seconds to run to (on Torrent) from the grace and the enemies are incredibly weak. (Note: You don't need to fight the Tibia Mariner for this farming spot. You can ignore him)
My advice would be to grab a striking weapon beforehand since most undead take extra damage from striking weapons. Easiest is starting with the Wretch class, but you could also grab the Morningstar, the warpick from a Godrick Soldier, or if you have roundtable access, you can also just buy the mace from the twin maiden husks.) And grab the sacred blade AOW from the scarab beside the third church of Marika. This combo will basically guarantee even an un-upgraded hit will one-shot all three skeletons.
If whatever you were farming for drops, awesome. You're done. If not, fast travel back to the site of grace and repeat until it does.
I think the entire loop takes about 10-15 seconds once you get the hang of it.

          easy farm,
start as knight. go pick up "Lordsworn's greatsword" next to gatefront site of grace
pick up sacred blade near third church of marika.
put sacred blade AoW on the greatsword and 2 h it.
go to lake facing cliff site of grace farm area, use ash of war on 1st mage, and running heavy on the two others, this will 1 shot each of them, and make sure you dont need to hit their corpses. and you can be farming within 15 minutes of starting a character

3 can be found east of Mistwood Ruins that can drop scythe. Still better off farming at the Lake-Facing Cliffs grace unless you want one before then.

you can kill them easier with holy damage then you don't need to hit them one more time to prevent resurection.

What I find silly is that these undead are not vulnerable to the Heal spells like the Revenants and Wraiths are.

I got two of these quickly from the gravyard just north west of the Church of Irith. You can respawn at the Lake-Facing Cliffs grace, just behind the Stormhill Castle. Theres 3 skeletons who can drop it in that graveyard.

There's a spawn for the grave scythe next to the church of vows. You need to let them fully spawn in, then kill them in their "revival" state to get item drops. I used the silver scarab and the silver pickled fowl foot and got it in 5 minutes.

I found a good farm for the scythe at the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook in Mountaintop of the Giants. Spawn there and head northeast along the cliff edge, about 20 steps next to tree stump will be one mage skeleton. Two snails spawn next to it so you can kill the snails or just jump off the cliff and reload. Hope this helps

Holy damage doesn't seem to do anything against them, they still get back up unless you hit them twice. I also killed about 270 of them while farming the Grave Scythe, all I got was 1 scythe and 9 human bone shards.

I think you guys got the wrong image. Those big axe skeletons most definitely don't cast spells. Although they do pack a punch and they could drop their axe, so maybe they should have their own wiki page.
