Living Jar is an enemy in Elden Ring. They are animate jars that often hide out of place, usually only attacking when provoked or approached.
The spirit of (3) Living Jars can be summoned for aid in battle by using the Soldjars of Fortune Ashes.
Though the jars are brought to life by human flesh and blood, they are all rather kindly folk. Perhaps they were made to be better than their innards.
Their fragments command a high price due to the magical power locked within. This leaves the living jars unfortunate targets for poachers.

Living Jar Notes & Tips
- These creatures (small variation) can be summoned with the Soldjars of Fortune Ashes.
- A few of the creatures are capable of speech such as Alexander and Jar Bairn.
- Deals Standard damage.
- Parryable: No
- Can be poise broken, but not riposted afterwards.
- It is most likely that the insides of a Living Jar are made up of human body parts, mostly from warriors, seeking to become one.
- The ones in the Mountaintops Catacombs can bolster themselves, making them sturdier and causing weapons bounce off, similar to an Ironjar Aromatic. This increase their poise and resistance to Physical-type damage, but significantly lowers resistance to Lightning Damage.

The red seals with the erdtree on it, the magical properties they have, and the fact that they're most heavily concentrated in Raya Lucaria makes me think they might have something to do with Radagon. Maybe Radagon made them to be warriors or servants or something who give back to the earth when they die, it would make Alexander absorbing Radahn's corpse more ironic too.

There is a Large and 4 smalls in the lift chamber leading to the Forsaken Depths site of grace in the Subterarrian Shinning Grounds.

Someone should add they’re also in the subterranean shunning ground

I feel like an absolute rat for killing these creatures. They're the least threatening looking, compared to game's many eldritch abominations, and Alexander and Jar-Bairn are genuinely nice. From Soft just keeps inventing new ways to make me miserable.

I stopped killing this guy after i met Alexander n Jar-Bairn

One of those enemies that i really don't like killing, why can't we just be chill?

Funnily enough, you can stand on their heads, when they're laying down un-aggroed. Knowing this I'm gonna put a prediction out there regarding these lads: there will be some section in the DLC where you get to a secret area or treasure by jumping on some sleeping Living Jars. Seems like a waste of comedic potential not to.

The pots don't seem to have any particular resistance or weakness to magic, holy or fire damage, and aren't susceptible to bleed, poison, scarlet rot, or frostbite.
They seem like they might be slightly resistant to electricity, and weak to bludgeoning damage.

Is this revenge for all the pots I destroyed during my time in DS and BB?

Hey can anyone possibly help with making a homebrew race for these guys

If you live for those meat dumplings, warning about killing the first large jar you fight at carian manor, if you keep it against the half wall at the edge the drop will spawn off the side of the cliff.

Random thought, but when you speak to jar bairn, he says how he wants to become a bigger warrior jar. That being said, are living jars like hermit crabs in a way where they will remove their insides and move them to a larger pot, therefore taking it over, or do they just grow bigger??

Notice how there are staggering amounts of broken jars around all the minor erdtrees? I have a theory about this and I don't like it at all. The whole jar race and their pilgrimage is a lie. Their only purpose in life is to bring fertilizer to the Erdtree, where the sentinels break them open and let the bodies inside nourish the tree.

I want to state that they are also found in the Prison town area by volcano manor. Specifically speaking, you can find one large one and a few smaller ones by some graves on the lowest level where the magma flows.

Them Caria Manor jars be droppin shards 2 at a time with 109 discovery no lies. Longer run reset with platforming inbetween but best results.

What are their drop rates, been killing them for a bit now and nothing will drop? Also no worries it's the hostile ones in stormveil, I'd never hurt the dudes in jarburg lol

So the funny mushroom people who look like they escaped from the Moomins to Dark Souls have been replaced by... Kool-Aid Man. The tonal shift is a bit... *jarring*

My best guess on their origin is that the sorcerer's create them by shoving a bunch of corpses in a jar and using magic.

How are they anything like Mimics? You can’t interact with them like a chest, and when you get close they attack anyway.

I’m so jealous of Miyazaki’s creativity. How do you even think of something like this and make it work as well as it does?
