Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood is a Humanoid Enemy in Elden Ring. Juno Hoslow is a Hostile NPC that you can invade as part of the final contract of the Volcano Manor questline. He is the older brother of Diallos and a knight decked in black and silver armor, equipped with dual whips. Other Invadable NPCs can be found here.
Juno Hoslow had a younger brother who was all talk and no trousers. His inability to commit to action was such that Juno inherited the Hoslow legacy without resistance, granting him the freedom to shower his little brother with adoration.

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood Notes & Tips
- Can heal only once.
- Uses dual Hoslow's Petal Whip, dealing high Strike Damage and inflicting Blood Loss build-up. He also uses Bloodhound's Step to weave in and out of attacks.
- Assuming correct timing, all of Juno's right hand whip attacks - including his double whip attack - can be dodged by rolling towards him. Ensure the Tarnished remains just about striking distance away from Juno to bait out an attack.
- If rolling towards Juno and immediately attacking, he will either take the hit or use Bloodhound's Step to dodge away. It is best to simply commit to one attack lest he immediately counters with a whip attack of his own.
- If Juno uses Bloodhound's Step to dodge away from the follow up attack, he himself will either follow up with another attack or do nothing. However, Juno's idle is often short enough for him to use another attack. Thus, it is simply best to bait out another attack while he is idle.
- While it is possible to dodge Juno's left hand whip attack, this is almost impossible as the whip hitbox is confusingly large. It is simply best to back away from Juno if he uses his left hand whip attacks.
- Like any human encounter, status effects are very effective.
- It may be possible to use Inescapable Frenzy to grab him while is busy performing his gesture. (testing required)

Reminder that this dude is Diallos' older brother that loves him very dearly and we kill him. If you didn't think Recusants were evil snakes then this should make it obvious

For me, this guy is fun as **** to fight, as soon as i saw that ****ing quickstep bullshit i looked it up and got his ash of war, what goes around comes back around, now having a blast getting my ass kicked against him with a zweihandler giving him a taste of his own medicine

For mages, night comet is basically NPC invader killer. They won’t dodge. You know the drill.

Reading all the comments made me wonder how the hell did I beat him first try without too much trouble. I bet next time I need him I will suffer.

Throw and Albinauric Pot at him when he bows and then he can't chug at low health
He'll still do the chugging animation at first tho because ai in this game doesn't know that the Albinauric Pot debuff doesn't allow them to use their Flasks.

Cheesed him with Ruins Greatsword’s ash of war, highly recommend

Oh yeah lets make more npc enemies with all that is broken op.
DLC: a gank squad with dual nagis, sleep archer and moonveil star shower spammer

If any mage builds are having trouble killing him try using Gavel of Haime, he never tried to dodge it whenever I used it.

BS Elden Ring boss design, I can only deal 2% of the damage he deals
- Anonymous
I can’t have been the only one that saw his helmet and wanted to murder him immediately to get it right?
- Anonymous
It doesn't make sense that he can bloodhound step out of a guaranteed true combo. I've never seen anyone I've invaded ever bloodhound step out of dragon halberd spinning slash, and yes the first hit connected, he bhs out of the second swing, which is impossible for an actual player character.
- Anonymous
could he be inspired by the knights of cainhurst from bloodborne

time to brag.
didn't use any cheap methods, only my sword and a shield. Wait for an attack, then move in to punish with run + r1. If he quicksteps toward me just punish him with r1

Well dragonmaw and claw certainly ripped him a new one while he was bowing to me.

Tested it, you can use inescapable frenzy while he's gesturing

I used the Blasphemous blade's aow to ruin him. Sad thing is I can't cash in the hit because Tannith is busy eating snake brains. Think how that sounds to someone who has never played ER? God bless this game.

Just beat this guy at lvl 30 with a +3 regular for no reason other than I’m crazy and it sucked

Think I died more times to this guy than the final boss in Volcano manor !

Reads your inputs and then BHS with inhuman reaction speed, so ashes like Unsheathe are hard to land. Challenging fight. I decided to just go the dishonest route with Vyke’s War spear. Hit him with the AoW while he is doing his emote, then spam R1. You can stun lock him this way because instead of BHS he will try to hit his flask after the first madness proc. A few more R1’s and a second madness finishes him off

This guy took me more attempts than malenia and elden beast combined. Literally whipped my ass into oblivion. Heavy tank build with dual colossal swords and he murdered my slow butt for hours. Finally learned his move set and used bloodhound fang and a shield to kill him
- Anonymous
I was dying to him over and over when I managed to get him stuck between me and a rock. Then he couldn’t bloodhound step away and I could spam hit him. Suck it, pal
- Anonymous
I'm so confused, when I invade him I only have half of my flasks and I run out of steam super fast.
- Anonymous
beat at level 100, dont know what level i should be but i recommend using bleed damage with dex weapons, like a twinblade, keep jump attacking to stagger and then try to land a few hits, moment he raises his arm roll/ run away, rinse and repeat, he’s weak to bleed, doing about 1k+ on his health when bleed successfully hits!

Sucks that we have to kill this guy for the Volcano Manor and never got the chance to talk with him. After reading his armor and weapon, he seems to be one of the few genuinely good people in this world.
Despite you being after his life, he bows to you before engaging in battle.
Despite his brother's boastful and cowardly personality, he still "showers his little brother with adoration"
Despite his bloodied family and history, when invited to join the Volcano Manor, he "discreetly" rejected it as he claim himself not to be a "champion" of blood.
I'm sure if he had dialogue, he would be a rather charming person to talk to, and I'm sure he would talk quite sweetly about his little brother should we mention him.

As a faith user I used ekzykes decay and let it wear his health down till he used his health flask then I hit him with borealis mist twice and he dropped without even getting close. This is after I tried lightning spear, sword of knight and flame and others. Seems the dragons aoe really messes with his dodging
- Anonymous
I had a fun double halberds build but this guy made me grab my Rivers of Blood and just spam weapon art him to death.
- Anonymous
As an astrologer I tried anything and everything. Nothing worked until I used the Gavel of Haima to interrupt him and keep him mostly on the ground. It also required a lot of stamina and FP to keep hammering until he is dead.

Rock Sling, dependable as always. Good luck sidestepping that.

vyke spear just barely makes this tolerable... i am so bad this videogmae...........

I spammed Phantom Slash AoW on a halberd to beat him pretty easily. This seemed to have just the right range to catch his dodges.
- Anonymous
I was struggling while underleveled, but spamming Vyke's AoW worked very well.

Tough battle. Had to be patient and roll forward when he whipped. R1 once or twice, then back away. As he pivoted away, I just told there and waited to roll towards him again. Then, R1, stop. Roll away. Rinse & Repeat. After a few attempts at this strategy = took no damage battle

There is no way to fight him in melee and anyone who says otherwise is lying. Either outheal+outdamage or ranged cheese him with rot breath or something.

Oh look, dual wield bleed builds with BHS are just as OP, brainless, easy, and annoying with NPCs.

Unendurable frenzy can stop him spamming BHS. With enough FP he can be one shotted in a first playthrough but I couldn't quite pull it off in NG+ and the f**ker used a flask but the stagger from the frenzy incantations make the a solid tactic against him.
- Anonymous
I'm normally the first to cheese at the slightest difficulty but fighting this man toe to toe is the most fun I've had in this entire game. We're both dual weilding fast, high bloodloss weapons (me with dual scimatars) and both of us have bloodhound step.
It's a goddamn anime battle in here, *****es teleporting behind eachother and swooshing blade spins and saluting eachother.
****. I'm gonna be so mad when I beat this man, he is an absolute treasure.
- Anonymous
The power stance whip attacks have a vulnerable recovery. If light equipped, rolling toward those attacks can allow a safe R1. When very close he will prefer to dodge instead of attacking, so it is possible to attempt a roll catch until stamina is depleted. As others have mentioned, well timed jump attacks and guard counters can also help.
- Anonymous
I tried to not cheese him, but he kept cheesing me. So I whipped out Comet Azur and moved on
- Anonymous
Look...I tried. I'm a mage. He bloodhound steps away from every spell I throw at him. I could get him down to half most fights but he'd always get a nick in with those whips so I'd have to try to heal and then I'm done. After the 10th I didn't care about honor. I'm going Flame of Frenzy ending anyway. So I used Comet Azur and fried his punk ass with about 65 Int and the +9 Carian Regal Scepter. The tale of House Hoslow is told in YOUR blood

Lvl 25, using a +5 cold great stars w/ wild strikes. 22 vig (27 w/ radagons), full raging wolf armor set, max dragoncrest talisman, & turtle talisman. Turns it into a 3-shot. Use a +hp+Stam regen flask as soon as you spawn, hit him with 5 poison throwing knives during his animation. Catch him with jump attacks, then wild strikes until frost and/or bleed. The animation for a jump attck with great stars (great hammers) has a perfect input on the dodge roll follow-up to dodge his attack after a BHS, if he chooses to avoid your jump attack.

Does fias mist work on him I swear they to make death and frenzy flame spells viable in pve

OP NPC/enemy, teleports dodge perfectly on every attack, only way i can find is let him attack and counter, but all for nothing due to bleed building, you'll end up dead and out of crimson tears before killing
"extremely weak to status efffects" IF YOU CAN EVEN LAND A HIT ON HIM, pretty sure he has input reading, try attack? dodge
try heal? attacks and inflicts bloodloss
try dodging/rolling? cathes you mid roll
can't do anything against him except wait for death
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Used Grafted Blade Greatsword +8. He doesn't dodge charging attacks. I'd hit and run until I could land a combo. I wore his armor and spoke to his stupid brother.
- Anonymous
poked him to death with rogier's rapier. interrupts his attack. be aggressive.
- Anonymous
For a no leveling and no upgrading run a strategy that worked for me was rot breath plus serpent bow and serpent arrows. Four blue flasks to have two flasks when invading him. Immediately rot breath him. Keep your distance and wait for him to do an attack that has enough recovery time for you to shoot a poison arrow. Otherwise he'll just dodge your arrows most of the time. He'll heal once, but with the two blue flasks you have enough to rot breath him a second time, which will finish him off.
Be sure to hold the button when breathing rot on him to get the full duration and use the directional stick to follow his movement during the animation. If you do it right you will roll catch him trying to get out of the rot spray and it will use your full FP bar @ level 1.

Be warned, I didn’t get the emote the first time. I fought him, died, tried again and then got it. So if you want the emote, make sure it actually tells you that you have it.
- Anonymous
Crucible Horns incantation works gloriously against him. Once charged, has absurd range and throws him in the air. Most importantly, this does not make him invulnerable (unlike crit attack animation) so you can punish him mercilessly when he's getting up (I guess Giant Hunt works just as good, if you can land a hit). Moreover, you get enough hyperarmor for the charge to not be staggered (I've traded hits during attack and didn't even flinch despite using confessor set that have next to zero poise) and with Two Fingers Heirloom, Faith-knot and FTH boosting headgear it requires little to no Faith investment.
- Anonymous
Is it morally correct to kill him besides gameplay reasons?
- Anonymous
An easy way for int builds against this guy is spamming Loretta's Slash. The damge is really good and he will be staggered with the down swing. Cojmbined with how quickly the AoW launches, he won't have time to heal
- Anonymous
I'm a mage but 2 handed the Great stars is the easiest strat, remember to always dodge into him and spam R1 you can probably hit him 4-5 times before he used bloodhound steps
- Anonymous
Being a human type NPC enemy and vulnerable to status effects I thought I wouldn't have too much trouble with him. I was wrong, I used the physik with cerulian hidden tear and tried to hit him with Ekzykes decay as soon as I was able but I don't know if he was using bloodhound's step to avoid the worst of it but I didn't once manage to inflict scarlet rot on him. So if anyone is planning something similar, have a back up just in case.
- Anonymous
You can see all the thumbs downers on specific comments, those players condone this kind of maidenless behavior in pvp. He's worth minimal runes because he's a completely honorless target. I crouched on his face 50 times then crapped after I finally beat him with this stupid uchi. Modern problems deserve a more modern solution, like rivers, stars, and moon. Hands down biggest POS in the game.
- Anonymous
Man's really should have just joined the volcano manor and fed himself to the serpent.
- Anonymous
Just hit him with scarlet rot and waited until he died. Pretty easy to dodge him, and he only has one heal so chip damage with ranged made him really easy.
I'd probably feel bad for murdering Diallos' older brother that he so admired if Juno wasn't a bloodhound-stepping bleed-whip edgelord. Eat shield crash, nerd.
- Anonymous
Godskin Peer & Black Flame Tornado. As with all invisible-teleporting-but-holes - it will run itself right into your black flame blender, and get flattened by the final blow, so you can repeat.
Still will need an d ton of FP and some tanky HP unless you're one of those matrix-style-robots that can dodge everything.

FROM: let’s make it clear that this guys an honorable Knight.
Also FROM: gives him bloodhounds finesse
- Anonymous
I know he's in a late game area and not meant to be easy, but this Juno is a proper c**t.
- Anonymous
Doing a low level/low upgrade run and beat him pretty easily with a +3 Great Stars. The trick was to roll into his attack and then lay into him with wild strikes until he steps away. He'd occasionally hit me with a followup but wouldn't stagger me, and the trades were quite favorable in the long run as he often didn't even get the second swing. Don't bother with the R2 followup, just let the first few swings work him.
Crucible incantations worked smooth against him, but you need at least 40 vigor and 55+ poise, which you can achieve with crucible armor full set and also get the bonus for those incantations, also used a twin blade with storm assault, fancy fight indeed
- Anonymous
Was stuck on this try-finger-but-hole for a bit (2nd toughest for me after gargoyle duo), followed advice below about using shield and guard counter on Junos R1 attacks and paired it with bleed urumi and bloodhound step to move out of range of his other attacks, took a lil patience but he didn’t get 1 hit in
- Anonymous
He has input reading and uses the bloodhound’s step the moment you attack. A good strategy is doing a heavy attack or an AOW with a somewhat long windup (impaling thrust works great) so if he dodges towards you your attack will connect immediately after the iframes expire and before he can attack.
- Anonymous
I just used the wall build and killed him with a shield crash. Couldn't even respond to my attack before dying.
- Anonymous
If you’re using Magma Blade, you can use Magma Shower a few times and insta kill him. I don’t usually abuse that, but screw Juno!
- Anonymous
Didn’t move and killed him before he could touch me. Comet azur ftw.
- Anonymous
Abuses Bloodhound step like there's no tomorrow. His whips do cheap levels of damage and he obviously scales with your level because I was way overlevelled for the area and this poor excuse for game design beat me 6 times before i bent him over
- Anonymous
Gotta respect this guy for using bloodhound’s step, not abusing it. He uses it to escape tough scenarios, which is exactly what was intended of this ability. It took me only a few attempts to kill him, but the bloodhound’s step was never spammed more than like, twice in quick succession. People who have used this ability throughout the game should follow the example of our Knight of Blood here, if they don’t already.
- Anonymous
I've seen a lot of challenge videos, always wondered why they don't do this, now I see why. This guy really does deserve an realistic AI award. Blood, bloodhounds step, spam. Give it up for this guy
- Anonymous
there's way too much **** around his arena for you to get stuck on, but of course his AI pathfinding has no issue with it

In Hoslow's hands, his whip does slash damage, but magically dulls to perform strike damage when it's in your hands.

I did this on a starting level vagabond I twinked out. Antspur rapier, make it poison. Juno is pretty easy to shield turtle, and once you see scarlet rot trigger, you run behind the pillar to the right and hide on the rocks with your shield up. Once rot wears off poke him until it’s back, hide a second time, win.

I used an ice based ash of war with my great sword and with no armor. After many tries this is what worked for me

Did they really expect us not to kill rykard by the giant mountaintops? bs quest in my opinion

After many tries I found this way to be pretty effective: First, craft poison darts and a fetid pot (or poison pot) and have something like glintblade phalanx.
When the fight begins and Juno greets you, first take your wonderous physic and cast glintblade phalanx, then throw several of the poison darts. As he is still greeting you he won't dodge them, and he will become poisoned. Around this time, he will charge and the first glintblades will strike. Now you should avoid him and repeatedly re-cast glintblade phalanx when you have enough distance. (To gain more distance, you can hop on the boulder to the left side of the arena and hop of, the boulder will slow him down and buy you some time) After a while, the poison darts will stop inflicting damage. This is when you should run to the boulder, and as he tries to get on top of it, when you see the chance, throw the fetid pot (as you only need 1 hit, instead of several with the darts), which whill again poison him. Keep on avoiding him and casting phalanx untill he's dead.
This worked like a charm for me. My build is almost pure int (lvl 61 int, lvl 97 total), and i had a light-medium load to have more agility.
Kept dying and tweaking my build. Finally put down my shield and sailed through with two-handed lordsworn's heavy greatsword, no shield. Whack and roll away, repeat.
