ABSORPTIONS
- Phy (Standard): -10
- Phy (Slash): -40
- Phy (Strike): -10
- Phy (Pierce): -10
The absorption numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if an absorption is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% is absorbed. Bigger number = less damage. An absorption of 100 means no damage goes through, and a resistance of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.
RESISTANCES
Poison: 169 - 191
Scarlet Rot: 169 - 191
Hemorrhage: 169 - 191
Frostbite: 169 - 191
Sleep: 40 - 45
The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Elden Ring Giant Bat Notes & Tips
- Bats attack with their claws and by doing sweeping attacks.
- They will try to gang up on you so engage only a few at a time.
- They have a ranged sound based attack that they will use if you are out of range so don't stray too far.
They also have a grab attack, signalled by them spreading their legs out wide, where they bite at your throat, causing slight Hemorrhage build-up. - The Giant Bats in the Mountaintops of the Giants have a different under-wing pattern and coloration. These do more damage and drop more Runes.
- In the Network Test, they may have behaved similarly to the Chanting Dames, singing haunting melodies. This was left out during release.

for some reason, these guys are immune to frenzyflame attacks. vyke's spear, flame of frenzy, frenzied burst, and unendurable frenzy will do absolutely no damage to them.

Not sure how many has pointed it out, but there is one variant on a sidepath below Stargazers Ruins (mointaintops), that has weird yellow dots underneath their wings. Not sure if they're different moveset wise, but their wings are certainly freaky to look at

**** these little aholes, they always harass the hell out of me at the most inconvenient times, they are weak but there's always a shitton of them wherever there's one and are just incredibly annoying in general.

Below the church in celead where you find the chick who is sick and only one arm. 2 typs, light colored ones with what looks like a human head drop rune 10s on a reg basis.

The variant in mountaintop of the giants definitely has a bigger health bar.

Seeing these my first night in Limgrave was such a joyous experience. Fighting this classic enemy type with From combat.. in a giant open world. Man. Still kill these annoying bastards every time I see em.
I can confirm the Golden Rune 9 from singing bat lady is a one time per playthrough drop. Currently farming Fort Farough, got one rune 9 from each woman on first clear, and none in the next five clears. Cannot be a coincidence. Maybe the ladies drop other runes as farmable, but I have only seen regular bats dropping Golden Rune (5) so far. Tested at 187 item discovery. Get maybe one Golden Rune (5) every second or third time I clear the first room at Fort Faroth.

The definition of not hard at all, but just a massive annoyance

These creatures have a grab attack where they slowly extend their legs and charge at you dealing damage and building up the player's bleed bar if caught by the bat.

There's a more purple variant at the star gazer ruins near the back of the ruins

Where is the best location in limgrave to farm the bats for fireflies?

Fort Faroh(Caelid) houses giant bats that drop Golden Rune (9)’s at 14 arcane at basically common. Probably a great early game farming site as you can access it immediately

I swear I saw bunch of them headed to the church in the Weeping peninsula before they saw me!

I think that giant bats have different loot tables in different areas. In later points of the game I've gotten runes up to 4.

For the life of me, I cannot find the home of the three bats that patrol the Weeping Peninsula Death Bird. It’s as if they just appear from no where and start flying about.
