Absorptions
- Phy (Standard): 35
- Phy (Slash): 35
- Phy (Strike): 0
- Phy (Pierce): 35
The absorption numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example if an absorption is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% is absorbed. Bigger number = less damage. An absorption of 100 means no damage goes through, and a resistance of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.
Resistances
Poison: 310 - 530 (Immune in some cases)
Scarlet Rot: 310 - 530
Hemorrhage: 310 - 367
Frostbite: 169 - 200
The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Elden Ring Giant Crab Notes & Tips
- This enemy has the same moveset from its appearance in Dark Souls 3. They can no longer burrow underground and are much easier to fight, especially on horseback.
- Their breath attack can have varying effects, from a mist that builds Sleep, to a breath that can build up Death Blight. Oddly enough, the maggot-infested zombie Giant Crab's spit attack does not have a Poison buildup, but just does physical damage, like the normal, living, red-eyed Giant Crab.
- The Death Blight inflicting Giant Crabs in the Capital Outskirts are found directly above Godwyn's Corpse in Deeproot Depths. It's possible that these Giant Crabs actually feed on Deathroot, as some land crabs in real life eat tree roots.
- The silver Crabs that cause sleep are possibly hinted to be man-made, judging by their Japanese name translating to “homunculus,” similar to the Albinaurics
It could explain their recurring appearance in Raya Lucaria and the Consecrated Snowfield, due to the presence of Albinaurics, and could possibly explain how they could cause Sleep.

These things have great awareness, similar to runebears… even if you are invisible and sneaking up to them from behind, they will know and turn around to attack you.

Certainly way easier to kill than the cracked-up DS3 versions.

They don't bury themselves underground to heal themselves. Hooray.

What I wouldn't give to just toss that giant claw into a huge boil pot and eat it with old bay and butter

They fairly weak to sleep. Only a few (2-3) sleep bone arrows and they’ll go to sleep and open for a fat critical. They actually go to sleep unlike a few other elite mobs that are only stunned for a few seconds

A couple more of these things in the beach section of Castle Morne and about half a dozon of them in Lake Agheel. There are two in Raya Lucaria and a few more in northwestern Liurnia that spew Sleep mist at you.

Literally just the giant crabs from DS3, but a welcomed return indeed. Also their models look fantastic compared to the ones of the past game.

Big Boggart must be a strong man if he’s always cooking up an infinite amount of these bad boys. Not even I could put up with these bloody crabs.
