Glintstone Dragon is a Creature in Elden Ring. These Glintstone Dragons occupy the Moonlight Altar area in Liurnia of the Lakes. These are the lesser or unnamed versions of the Dragon bosses, Glintstone Dragon Adula and Glintstone Dragon Smarag. Three can be found on the moon-gazing platform west of the Moonlight Altar Site of Grace. When defeated, they each drop a Dragon Heart which is used to trade at the Church of Dragon Communion for Dragon-based Incantations. See also: Dragon Communion Incantations.

Glintstone Dragon Notes & Tips

  • dragon icon 40px Dragon type
  • They use the moves of Glintstone Dragon Smarag, though they lack a boss bar, and are weaker.
  • Glintstone Dragons have very high Magic resistance, so Intelligence builds should use spells like Rock Sling that deal physical damage.
  • Meteorite of Astel with Cerulean Hidden Tear can easily trivialize the fight by raining meteorites that deal physical damage.
  • Wear armor with high Magic and Physical resistance, like the Banished Knight Set.
  • You can climb the nearby rocks and fight them with ranged attacks, and you will be safe from most of the dragons attacks.
  • They do not respawn when slain.

lion greatbow +9 with radahn's spear for ammo and used special attack until dead, and they didn't last very long at all.

Managed to kill them but they respawned, I did kill one and rest at a site but I still got dragon hearts so I doubt if it affected it.

They appear to be weak to lightning. Get off a good Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike and you can do 1/3 or even 1/2 of their health if you hit with enough strikes.

The cathedral of manus celes and moonfolk ruins give very good cover from Smarag's glintstone fire. With the cathedral being especially good it's a decent sized ruin allowing hit and run against it then ducking out before it can one shot you.

            • Thought process behind this segment: Well... we have this huge chunk of map with nothing on it, wot do? Copy+Paste glintstone dragons. Since we've been copy pasting 80% of the game why stop here?

this 3 POS probably the most annoying to deal with even when i fight them 1v1, they will flies off the cliff and forget to fly back up.
when you think they wont be a problem and attack the second one suddenly the first one reset and now you are 2v1.
Then they have AOE that will hit a third one and now 3v1 and you died.
their positioning is so ****in janky they can get stuck at the top at a rock and spam homing magic at you.

So whats the lore here? Are they Adula's Children? Were they/Adula the reason the cathedral has been destroyed?

Not sure what's lesser about these guys other than the runes dropped... They have the same health, moveset and damage output as Adula, except there's 3 of them clustered together.
Interestingly they can fly off the cliff and land in the area far below without dying, eventually respawn and reappear back up top.
