So... Are these guys actually able to drop the Duelist's Greataxe or was I fooled for trying to farm for it on the one next to Ordina?

      • You can use him to fight the death rite bird below the cliff,
Just bait his charge attack and lure him on horseback (torrent) all the way down, and charm him with bewitching branch.
Thie dude can solo the death rite bird with some buffs like golden vow, barrier of gold

On my RL1+0 run, Zweihander was the easiest way for me to deal with these guys. Slap Giant Hunt on it, add Blood affinity. Then Giant Hunt -> charged R2 -> breaks their poise -> riposte -> Giant Hunt -> charged R2, and so on as long as you have FP. Since they have almost no armor, they bleed all the time.

Parrying works well too, but only against the hammer wielding guys. Axe wielders are a huge pain: you can't parry most of their attacks, while they have infinite poise and high damage. So, in the end of the day, a colossal weapon was the only option for me.

If only their weapons had dropped with the chains.
My rotten duelist cosplay feels unfinished without the massive chain attacks.

From please give us Rotten Duelist ash in DLC. Especially if they do the cape throw animation evertime you summon them.

There’s one overlooking a cliff, and using the fully charged Ancient Lighting Spear from the Bolt of Gransax sent him over the edge, made quick work of him. Just gotta go a long way around to gather the stuff where he died.

I usually don't get surprised by anything in this game, but i just recently saw these guys' grab attack for the first time, which honestly really caught me off guard. Definitely one of the cooler non-boss moves i've seen so far

I'd think it'd make more sense if these dudes were in Caelid, considering how scarlet rot is nowhere to be seen in the snowfields.

All his drops, drop, only once.

By the by. Why does this enemy only have 3/4 pieces of equipment? So annoying that he doesn't have any gloves for a full-set. They really need to sort that kind of thing out.

The one with the Greataxe has a right hook bash after you attack that is physically impossible to dodge which is lame since even daggers don't recover in time before he executes it. Doesn't hurt a lot but super obnoxious if you plan to use bubble or any 100% HP buff talisman. Also uses a shout effect that boosts its resistance to bleed and probably other boosts be warned and don't take unnecessary risks thinking it will work.

The one in the Consecrated Snowfields is very useful because of the aggro hat. You can put it on, summon your Mimic, take it off and be absolutely sure you won't get aggro as long as your Mimic lives, which honestly is a great benefit in duo or trio boss fights.
