Easily one of the best pve ashes in the game. Requires no FP to use and stance breaks most enemies in 1-3 kicks. Also nothing is more satisfying than Spartan kicking **** off ledges 10/10 would recommend on a misericorde

honestly i hate how this isnt part of the standard kit anymore, its not as powerful as any other ash of war. if it had more stagger potential and confirmed r1s of certain heavier weapons i would be okay with it.

One-hand a scimitar or flowing sword with bleed. Mix kicks and two-handing ash like spinning slash or blade dance. Unless I’m remembering what happens when you use your ash while one-handing while your offhand is empty. I think it’s kick.

Put this **** on a fire/flame art/lightning/ whatever Misercorde and swap to it when the fingerprint users least expect it

this aow + stanced ss l1s = true combo but further testing is needed

As of 1.07, kick can guard break Fingerprint shield. It's very fast and you can use kick without a main hand weapon. RIP shield users.

Does actual threatening stamina damage to shields with the new patch now. I imagine running this with Misericorde will be popular

The guard break is tied to the weapon, meaning damage type, AR, and possibly Talismans.
With some short ranged Strike weapons, I consistently break stances in one kick.
It also doubles as a short staggering tool, so: attack incoming> kick> stagger> R1.
I personally enjoy it as a party alternative, as it works on most enemies, and it's ideal on a backup and defensive or single target weapon.

Staggers long enough to initiate R1 combo on fist weapons.
No FP cost.
Will break guards, and I advise adding a Mace Talisman.

Really needs buff, imagine if it was actually worth kicking shields. Maybe even have it do damage and be good pair with fist weapon for kung fu build… but no

good for shield cracking, but good luck pulling it off against a dedicated turtle

would you rather have an ash of war that completely obliterates everything, or le foot

This should ignore poise, not be poised through multiple times. How can we have such an abhorrently bad kick in this game? The most egregious part is that the kick in DS1 and DS3, and the shove in DeS and DS2 are just better than this, and those are base mechanics, but in Elden Ring when we lose that and turn it into an Ash of War (in a game with busted AoW's mind you) it is somehow way worse.

Too short, doesn’t do meaningful damage or poise damage. If it did dagger r1 level damage and broke poise it could be used as a daring light attack for slow weapons. But noooo it has to be useless even against shields. Source: I’m a shield user with 60 poise and some guy kept hitting me with it. He got trade hit every time he kicked and never even got to kick my shield. Another time someone with a cannon kicked my shield but I simply guard countered from the kick.

The kick is so bad that I was summoned by Patches cosplayer, went to the edge of missing elevator, he kicked me and I actually poised through that.... And my armor is relatively light.... I had to strip all the armor for him to be able to atually push me away with a kick.
man, i miss LS+r1...what am i supposed to do, switch to my fists when he blocks?

I wish this would apply to great shields. Why? Because... THIS IS SPARTA!!!!

A very stupid thing to make Kick an AOW. Kicking was a great thing back in the good old days of DS3 PvP. Useful for beating turtles and parry spammers.

Kick is hands down a staple WA. I have a light weapon I have on me almost all time for quick kicks. PvE wise it’s good for breaking shield users stance and interrupting animations. For PVE it’s all that with the benefit of making you more unpredictable and creating opennings you normally wouldn’t have by using a standard long winded attack

Slept on. This AoW correlates with the weapon it's used on. Slap this on a >200 AR weapon and you will immediately kick a light shield into stance break. Two kicks and r1 on GS. Run with Miseri and your usual crit setup for oneshots.
Spamming this with a light gear setup will make a GS user start sweating.

Its not good, but has its uses in pvp. Put this on the misericorde and kick shieldusers, interchange it with its lightning fast dagger attacks for chip damage into dodge before they catch you. Sometimes you catch somebody offguard and stance break them, when they accidently block your kicks for an easy riposte. Again not really good, but aometimes works, because people arent used to it
Wish they gave it forward momentum, use in motion, leap and followup kicks. At least make a separate AoW

Doesn't seem very good, would have liked a sparta kick with actual damage and huge knockback

So, I did a bit of testing with this, and it seems to do high posture damage, but is unable to actually stance break- I could kick a Godrick Soldier 6 times in a row and get and no stance break, but 2 kicks followed by a single r1 does break stance. Honestly, there are better options unless you *really* want a zero FP weapon skill.

It's ok, I wish there was a kick like those in sekiro for my caestus martial artist build

If you're looking for a way to beat poke turtles, this aint it
Okay for PvE

As long as a weapon slot remains empty, you always have kick.
Switch to unarmed (if unarmed in the left slot then "two hand" your empty fist) and viola, your weapon art is now kick.
A very sneaky move when facing a literal or figurative turtle.

Incredibly out of place in this game that now has crazy Devil May Cry-lookin' weapon arts.

the option to spend FP for a beefier kick would be nice. maybe it could get a brief charge time? uncharged = current kick, while charged = FP cost + stronger in every way
