I have to actively not use this AoW it's so good. Cold infused on something with a natural bleed and you're likely proccing. If Malenia is really giving you trouble then it'll mince her, but really takes the fun out of those fights.

Using this Ash of War on my first invasion build and it's just too perfect for it. I've got it Cold infused so this full weapon art is pretty much guaranteed to proc Frost at level 50 with a modest Int investment (24)

This is one of my favorite PvP ashes. If your opponent doesn't see it coming you can unload 1k damage on them even on a bad build. Also quite fast and there's a lingering hitbox that prevents people from punishing you.

Pretty much a stunlock/delete button for anything omen-sized and smaller. So satisfying and fun.

Possibly the cheapest Skill to defeat the cheapest hyperactive foes in game: Alecto & Malenia

Would this applied to a cross naginata + blood flame infuse/black flame would be effective ?
- Anonymous
absolutely nutty on a cold scythe, or any other cold affinity weapon with a high innate bleed aux
- Anonymous
Don't know what it was like before but on my left twiblade it does 5k damage, seems to have hyper armour to the point of near on invincibility and procs frost so I can power stance fire with its right twin.
Seems like a good AoW to me
- Anonymous
Been using this on a cold infused grave scythe. Range is just disgusting and the aux proc is practically guaranteed.

Applied to nagakiba and began spinning at Malenia. Completely trivializes phase 1. Phase 2, she will either be locked out like phase 1 or will only be able to retaliate with her counter kick.
- Anonymous
Iunno about everyone else but its too broken in pvp, you get locked as soon as that first hit happens and cant even get out
- Anonymous
The basis of my hero playthrough, I love it. I powerstance the rusted anchor with this on it and the greataxe and use jump attacks predominantly, but this is what I use to keep mobs off of me and to do stance damage to bosses if I can pull it off (I'm restricting myself to the Champion's set for aesthetic reasons so I have crappy poise myself)
- Anonymous
use with black flame blade for a budget black flame tornado

10/10. Using it on my second main playthrough, and it has incredible poise and incredible interrupt. I have it on the morning star and have met very few enemies that can poise through it up to the capital so far. Would recommend for any melee build.
- Anonymous
Not really good for bosses, wouldn't recommend using it as it locks you in place. A shame because it looks real cool. Storm Assault is a lot better, and lookers cooler too.

Excellent Ash for weapons that struggle with crowds, like Axes. The constant winds will stagger small enemies all around you and the broad sweeping windmill strikes with your weapon do some big damage to your main target, provided you can land the entire combo. Great for mid to small enemies, less effective on fatboys who can poise through the wind and hits since you're stuck twirling for a bit.

Put this on my executioners greataxe, infused it with cold, now I'm like a walking blizzard of death, combined with rotten winged sword insignia, and its a lot of damage.

Does this apply status effects normally per hit or not at all?

Add black flame blade before using for Black Flame Tornado at home.

why the **** you cant put it on colossal weapons, myazaki, why?

Hi, Billy Mays here for Stormcaller. The fast, easy way to get rid of ganks in just 1-2-3. Gone and just like that your problems go away.
- Anonymous
This thing wasn't bad before and I got good use from it. Now it is very strong as a get TF off me ash when invading, against multiple NPCs, and black knife assassin's (invisible or not lol).. Def check it out, went from half decent to def A tier

Does this more dmg than the stormhawk axe (or however it’s called)?
- Anonymous
they gutted it. now it's so fast, nobody ever trades into the final L2 anymore. no more funny.
- Anonymous
this thing's gotten a mad speed boost since the last time i tested it out. this just jumped from D-tier to S-tier.

This Ash of War improved greatly after the latest patch. Not only i can poise through some attacks now but it does more damage and can stagger heavier enemies like knights.
- Anonymous
Very effective on smol stone gremlins and vulgar militia gremlins. Otherwise enjoy being toyed when use this agains bosses.

Like the other guy here, I too have found this ash of war has dissapeared from my inventory. I was collecting all of them and didn't put a single AoW in any weapon besides cold uchigatana, I had killed the scarab far early in the play through and now I realized I don't have it on my inventory. Weird bug it seems.
Perhaps you should put it on a weapon to not lose it?
- Anonymous
incredible on greataxes and greathammers, pumps out some mean damage

Did anyone else lose this from their inventory? I've definitely picked this up before and now it's not in my inventory and the scarab isn't there.

Stormcaller is the probably the most confusing out of the quality ashes of war, it try’s to do a lot of thing but it’s overshadowed by other ashes of war.
It has a decent amount of hyper armor allowing you to trade with most weapons.
But…
It has very low damage, Locks you into an animation that you can’t roll out of, low poise damage (even against medium armored opponents), the stormhawks axes ash of war is basically a better version of stormcaller (more damage, more poise damage, true combos into itself) but it has a shorter range.
Fromsoftwere could do either two things; Increase the damage, increase the poise damage, and increase the range. Or they could add an additional R1 or R2 input for the ash of war that closes the distance between you and your opponent (Just Like the Banished knight enemies) in order to punish people that back away from you.
7/10: This ash of war is not bad, but it’s just waves of darkness, HOARAH LOUX'S EARTHSHAKER, and all the other aoe attacks are just better.

Stormcaller is probably the most confusing out of the quality ashes of war. Unlike spinning strikes it has hyperarmor; but it has low damage, low stagger, and locks you in an animation for the first three swings.
This ash of war is meant to be used as a sort of “Get off of me attack”; Pretty niche in invasions but waves of darkness, HOARAH LOUX'S EARTHSHAKER, flaming strike, or even storm stomp are better and safer ashes of war for area denial.
The best buff fromsoft could do for this ash of war is to add an R1 input that lunges you character at your opponents as a way to close in the distance, the R2 would also close into your opponent but with a more delayed attack.
6.8/10: It’s damage is too low to reliably trade with people, It locks you into a stationary animation, doesn’t true combo or reliably stagger high poised opponents, the stormhawk axes ash of war is straight up just better than this. It’s Niche in small areas but theirs better ashes of war.

Combining this with Dragonbolt Blessing is hella rad especially for characters with lower poise, just about everything bounces off of you while you mow everyone down.
- Anonymous
this thing is amazing. great area denial and i think the storm you summon even applies status effects. tested on a +24 cold great stars

Did this get stealth buffed? I just tried it with a +19 Cold Cross-Naginata at 35 DEX/32 Int, and if all hits landed was doing 2.2k. Also seems to grant some poise while using (not quite hyper armor though, giant was still able to interrupt with a direct stomp hit, but could poise through shockwave).

How do you use it? Its equipped to my weapon but cant activate it
Missed potential. Could be one of the more fun weapon arts. It's stagger ability is lackluster. You can't stagger enemies stronger than a regular soldier, not even Knights. Damage and range are both abysmal as well. Another ash of war that wasn't tested by devs.

Missed potential, could be one of the more fun ash of war. Banished knights can stagger me even at 133 poise, while I cannot stagger any enemy stronger than regular soldiers. Doesn't even work on knights. If stagger isn't the strong side of this ash of war (which obviously should be), then what is it? The damage sucks and range is abysmal. I tested it with Night Cavalry Halberd. Is there maybe a Talisman that could boost stagger damage? ...Another Ash of War that hasn't been tested by the developers.

Damage is too low. Why use this when you have spinning strikes, you know? A shame, since this looks very cool and gives you huge poise
- Anonymous
Actually enjoying this. Using it with Occult Great Stars or Omen Cleaver using Winged Talisman and Thornbarb on a “pure” arcane build. Can take out those damn Banished Knights in a full combo if they don’t RNG their own storm attack. Just got Pot boys insides so we’ll see this real damage now.
This skill is great for cleaving through crowds of enemies.
The storm winds usually stagger enemies of whatever attack they’re doing and it gives you a massive amount of poise.
As an added bonus: the final attack knocks enemies down.

Deflects arrow and bolt projectiles, as well as thrown items like pots and knives. Greatbolts and Greatarrows are immune to being deflected this way.
