Did anyone else lose this from their inventory? I've definitely picked this up before and now it's not in my inventory and the scarab isn't there.

Stormcaller is the probably the most confusing out of the quality ashes of war, it try’s to do a lot of thing but it’s overshadowed by other ashes of war.
It has a decent amount of hyper armor allowing you to trade with most weapons.
But…
It has very low damage, Locks you into an animation that you can’t roll out of, low poise damage (even against medium armored opponents), the stormhawks axes ash of war is basically a better version of stormcaller (more damage, more poise damage, true combos into itself) but it has a shorter range.
Fromsoftwere could do either two things; Increase the damage, increase the poise damage, and increase the range. Or they could add an additional R1 or R2 input for the ash of war that closes the distance between you and your opponent (Just Like the Banished knight enemies) in order to punish people that back away from you.
7/10: This ash of war is not bad, but it’s just waves of darkness, HOARAH LOUX'S EARTHSHAKER, and all the other aoe attacks are just better.

Stormcaller is probably the most confusing out of the quality ashes of war. Unlike spinning strikes it has hyperarmor; but it has low damage, low stagger, and locks you in an animation for the first three swings.
This ash of war is meant to be used as a sort of “Get off of me attack”; Pretty niche in invasions but waves of darkness, HOARAH LOUX'S EARTHSHAKER, flaming strike, or even storm stomp are better and safer ashes of war for area denial.
The best buff fromsoft could do for this ash of war is to add an R1 input that lunges you character at your opponents as a way to close in the distance, the R2 would also close into your opponent but with a more delayed attack.
6.8/10: It’s damage is too low to reliably trade with people, It locks you into a stationary animation, doesn’t true combo or reliably stagger high poised opponents, the stormhawk axes ash of war is straight up just better than this. It’s Niche in small areas but theirs better ashes of war.

Combining this with Dragonbolt Blessing is hella rad especially for characters with lower poise, just about everything bounces off of you while you mow everyone down.

this thing is amazing. great area denial and i think the storm you summon even applies status effects. tested on a +24 cold great stars

Did this get stealth buffed? I just tried it with a +19 Cold Cross-Naginata at 35 DEX/32 Int, and if all hits landed was doing 2.2k. Also seems to grant some poise while using (not quite hyper armor though, giant was still able to interrupt with a direct stomp hit, but could poise through shockwave).

How do you use it? Its equipped to my weapon but cant activate it
Missed potential. Could be one of the more fun weapon arts. It's stagger ability is lackluster. You can't stagger enemies stronger than a regular soldier, not even Knights. Damage and range are both abysmal as well. Another ash of war that wasn't tested by devs.

Missed potential, could be one of the more fun ash of war. Banished knights can stagger me even at 133 poise, while I cannot stagger any enemy stronger than regular soldiers. Doesn't even work on knights. If stagger isn't the strong side of this ash of war (which obviously should be), then what is it? The damage sucks and range is abysmal. I tested it with Night Cavalry Halberd. Is there maybe a Talisman that could boost stagger damage? ...Another Ash of War that hasn't been tested by the developers.

Damage is too low. Why use this when you have spinning strikes, you know? A shame, since this looks very cool and gives you huge poise

Actually enjoying this. Using it with Occult Great Stars or Omen Cleaver using Winged Talisman and Thornbarb on a “pure” arcane build. Can take out those damn Banished Knights in a full combo if they don’t RNG their own storm attack. Just got Pot boys insides so we’ll see this real damage now.
This skill is great for cleaving through crowds of enemies.
The storm winds usually stagger enemies of whatever attack they’re doing and it gives you a massive amount of poise.
As an added bonus: the final attack knocks enemies down.

Deflects arrow and bolt projectiles, as well as thrown items like pots and knives. Greatbolts and Greatarrows are immune to being deflected this way.
