Ash of War: Glintstone Pebble is an Ash of War and Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Ash of War: Glintstone Pebble provides Magic affinity and the Glintstone Pebble Skill. Ashes of War can be equipped on Weapons and Shields to modify the Skill or an equipment, or to apply affinities that modify scaling values.
This Ash of War grants an armament the Magic affinity and the following skill:
"Glintstone Pebble: Skill that employs the glintstone sorcery of the same name. Follow up with a strong attack to chain this skill into a lunging thrust, performed while the armament is still imbued with glintstone."
Usable on swords as well as polearms capable of thrusting (colossal weapons excepted).

Elden Ring Ash of War: Glintstone Pebble Notes & Tips
-
The damage of Glintstone Pebble scales with Int, upgrade level, and weapon affinity for the projectile, as well as weapon's Int scaling value and weapon's AR for the magic-imbued thrust.
-
This Ash of War deals the most damage with the "Magic" affinity, deals less damage with the "Cold" affinity, and deals the least damage with "Heavy/Keen/Quality/Standard" affinities.
- C to B Int scaling increase averages 5-6% added damage on the enhanced thrust portion of the combo.

Still too powerful. Thankfully pure strength mages (and theoretically fth builds) don’t know that. Stormblade is still king of annoying spammy ranged ashes though. All ranged ashes of war need to be nerfed into crossbow levels of damage.
- Anonymous
This ash is super underwhelming since the nerf, not really worth using imo. It was deserving of a nerf, but not that hard. Flaming strike is just as strong imo and still runs rampant. Oh well, maybe it will get some buffs

Would be cool if this could enchant your weapon with magic like flaming strike does with fire. It’s basically the int equivalent of that ash.
Tested this on a Nagakiba+25 @ 52 Int/Magic infusion w/ Shard of Alexander.
Pebble hit for 1,006 with the follow-up thrust hitting for an additional 1,335 for a total of 2,341 on the thorn sorcerer next to the Whiteridge Road site of grace in Mountaintops.
With Terra Magica, pebble hit for 1,358 with an additional 2,058 from the follow-up thrust for a total of 3,416.
(I also had Godfrey Icon equipped which doesn’t appear to affect the damage of the follow-up R2.)

Is there any way (talismans, flask,...?) to bring back stagger power to the pebble after patch?
- Anonymous
why is it possible to use this on GREAT CURVED SWORDS???????????????????????????????? THRUSTING ONLY´?????
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
How is this useless? Projectile comes out fast and has homing, I land 1 or 2 in almost every duel. Damage is pretty high for it's speed. And the follow-up nukes people if they try to dodge towards you or punish
- Anonymous
Practically useless now. A nerf was needed, but this is too much honestly...

to all the wizards crying that their oneshot build no long works, remember that radahn's sword still exists.

if you get staggered by the pebble, you can't escape the melee. oneshots are wonderful.

It is a very good ash of war but it is very punishable if you arent being overly aggressive/ greedy. Strafe the pebble and get an easy parry off the follow up thrust. Or use the funny golden dinner plate shield and reflect the pebble for +- 1000 damage and guaranteed panic for the pebble user.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
More like Glintstone Tactical Nuke. Yes, its hard to land, but one single mistake by an enemy, and this will oneshot litterally everybody, unless you are like 99 Vitality, Embered, and wear full Bullgoat.
- Anonymous
Another unbalanced ash of war, I couldn't poise through this or survive with full bull goats armor and bull goats talisman, with 60 vigor, and erdtree favor plus 2
- Anonymous
Don’t see it noted anywhere, but I’m using misericorde and there’s a unique heavy attack immediately after casting this with it

just tried it first time on a guy who was actually pretty nice to begin with but ragequited as soon as the pebble hit i’m sorry guy i didn’t know

You guys let them buff? I haven't been one shot by this AoW ever in invasions.
- Anonymous
For me this thing one shots everyone in pvp. And my character is like level 160 and every one has at least like 50 vigor and still one shots. I have only seen one person tank this ash of war ONE SINGLE PERSON. I can’t tell you how much this helped me kill gankers. Best ash of war for int builds hands down.
- Anonymous
This is THE ash of war for mages in pvp. Extremely high damaging, but be sure to time it right or you will be punished.
- Anonymous
When i played full int playthrough ive got taken by surprise how much dmg this ash of war did. Never had to use normal attacks at close range, only spam Glinstone Pebble

After further testing, I have found that the thrust portion of this AoW scales both with weapon AR and INT scaling value.
Tested with Rogier's rapier and Cleanrot sword, very close AR values of 579 and 581 respectively. While Rogier had a tad lower base AR on Magic infusion, it has B scaling on INT instead of C, resulting in 1368 damage on thrust over 1304 for the Cleanrot. 5% difference.
Tested with Cleanrot sword and regular Rapier, both having equal scalings and C on Int with Magic infusion. 581 base AR for Cleanrot, 573 for Rapier. 1290 damage on thrust for Rapier, 1304 for Cleanrot. AR and thrust damage differences are not fully equal (1,38% diff for AR and 1,07 for thrust), but base AR definitely plays a role in this AoW combo damage output.
I would say the output trade-off is 1 level of INT scaling (D to C, C to B and so on) against 5% base AR increase. The Pebble part doesn't care about either though.
All testing was done w/o character buffs, on 46/55/80 Str/Dex/Int. With 25% damage increase from stealth (although % differences are the same without it), on a Troll outside Secluded Cell.

sure...blocking you from pulling my pants down doesnt take away from the absurd thrust to my balls immediately after. pvp spammers who run into mobs and act awesome when winning are scum, running away 1v1 is even sadder. but my 75 vigor tank shouldnt be staggered than one shotted
- Anonymous
I think it being a combo attack is neat but the pebble could probably do less damage
- Anonymous
Another stupid imbalanced Ash of War with a true hit combo that deals over half of your maximum hp while being 100% staggered while wearing Bull Goats Set + Talisman. The balance of this game is such a mess.
- Anonymous
I like how with flaming strike you can easily roll out of it if you get hit by the first part but this one stuns you into a giant thrust that almost guarantee's death, good balance.
- Anonymous
If I put this on a weapon with the cold affinity, will the projectile also build up frostbite?

I'm surprised I don't hear more people complaining about this skill. At least Rivers of Blood can be parried, and Moonveil isn't too difficult to dodge, this thing is quick, high range, and OH GOD the damage, the damage straight up feels unintentional. I've just never survived this attack, in my 600 hours of playing this game, not once have I had enough health to survive it, I use 55-60 vigour with Erdtree Favour and Crimson Amber Talisman and it kills me through that every. ****ing. Time. Everyone who uses it just fishes for 1 shots without a care in the world, yes half of them play like **** but even then you slip up even slightly and boom, get hit by the pebble, get hit by the blue tipped nuclear bomb up the ass.
- Anonymous
While this is great fun to use in PVP, it definitely needs a tone down.
I tested it in the Omen at the underground roadside (NG). Full combo hits around 2500 dmg at 50 Int, with shard of Alexander.
I've not encountered anyone who wasn't one shot by this with that setup.
But even the projectile does about 700 dmg (on players) about twice as much as the sorcery, which doesn't make any sense.
This one definitely feels overtuned. 80% of someone's HP is less of a pebble and more of a glintstone high-caliber rifle. The first part of the ash of war should be toned down a lot in damage but I think the follow-up lunge makes sense.
- Anonymous
The pebble part needs a hard nerf to its dmg...
Its absurd that the pebble alone can do nearly half if not more of players HP with 50+ Vigor
- Anonymous
Normally I would hate this being so crazy good but it hard counters Rob…just gotta fight cancer with cancer.
- Anonymous
Been using this as one of my swaps on the godskin stitcher. It is 100% OP in terms of damage. Even on just a heavy infused stitcher the true combo does well over 1000 damage to some people. I think the true combo should stay, but the damage should be scaled back. Even if this did half the total damage it would still be very effective. The only saving grace is that the pebble isn't too hard to dodge but it can catch players off guard and if that happens they take a ton of damage. I'd imagine this does even more damage on an INT build as well.
- Anonymous
It honestly feels like when fromsoft was just about finishing development on the game some random intern must've accidently applied a 500% damage modifier to every ability in the game.
- Anonymous
poise is absolutely a joke in ER i swear. this **** breaks my 73 poise and true combos my 60 vigor with Erdtree+2. to death (NO Scarseal or Soreseal or any damage income increases)
Power Stanced Katanas deal MORE poise damage than a colossal weapon
this is why people run Targoth gear with Horn Talisman because of this **** (someone test if this Ash of War can poisebreak Bullgoat, prob can)
- Anonymous
New meta go to in pvp. 2 hit stun lock combo. Even having 61 poise doesn’t prevent the follow up attack. This is broken.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The poise damage is unreal, 61 poise does not prevent the 1hit combo at all. Some of these ashes of war I swear.
- Anonymous
I do think it does need a damage nerf in particular the pebble part. No way the pebble part should do colossal greatsword poke damage maybe just make it deal as low damage as the normal glintstone pebble but keep the stagger so the 2nd thrust still hits and deals huge damage.
- Anonymous
I am running on a new build relying on magic affinity weapons. Lordsworn's Greatsword is the only GS with 110 crit and this ability combo with the heavy attack staggers so hard and hits so hard making you stunlock enemies hard. It's so broken both in pve if you get the hit down its automatically 1k+ damage on the combo with a riposte to finish.

Ashes of wars like this honestly scare me. I’ve been one shot by this while at 50 vig. The most terrifying thing is that there are so many ashes of war like this one, and all it takes is a little bit of fame for it to become the new RoB. Waves of Darkness, Glinstone pebble, quickstep, sword dance, and even lesser known ashes like spinning slice are all extremely powerful, if not broken, when used right.

- Anonymous
loving this in pvp. the pebble can roll catch. the thrust combos if you hit confirm the pebble. this ash of war does a LOT of damage and can poise break enemies blocking for a nice riposte.
Granted the damage on this is maybe a tad too strong, but I don't think it's super busted. This weapon art isnt "spam the whole field around you for 10 seconds" like rivers, it's a tiny pebble that has small range and if you can dodge a pebble from a sorcerer, you can dodge this.
That's What I like about this weapon art, and why no one talks about it yet complain when they die to it. It's not cheese spam. It's to catch the cheese spam, or the people who.wait forever to hit you like they are ds3 backstab fishing. Believe me, if you just spam this, you'll get punished fast.
- Anonymous
I have been trying this ash of war but i really dont see the use man. Everyones saying how high the poise dmg is but even 7 hit pebbles in a row do nothing against normal bosses. The thrust afterwards is also stupidly slow, what on earth am i missing? why's everyone saying its so great?
- Anonymous
The R2 after casting even on a dagger makes you move forwards a fair amount, making it so anything you can hit with the (short range) pebble can also be hit with the R2 follow-up on a dagger if the enemy doesn't move backwards enough
- Anonymous
Usable on daggers like misericorde, awesome for dual wielding daggers either for guaranteed criticals or as a 2h-fallback for your right hand weapon as a poisebreaker-option
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Even if you're not an int user, pop on alexander's shard and the full glintstone set and this will STILL hit like a truck
- Anonymous
I really slept on this for the early part of my game. You try it out and you see the pebble travel about 6 feet and you think, "why not just use the sorcery?"
Then you learn it poise-breaks most normal enemies (and some bosses) into a true-combo with its thrust for something like 5-10x the damage of the sorcery.
Shorter range than some "casting" AoW options (e.g., ice spear), but very high damage and reliably poise break for the FP cost, in my experience. Bizarrely powerful for its relatively unassuming appearance.
- Anonymous
should be called "glintstone boulder" for how much fcking poise damage this deals
- Anonymous
Not sure why I dont see many people talking about the follow up heavy attack thrust after using this. It is relatively busted - you can true combo for over 2000dmg with the right setup.
- Anonymous
Does anyone here know the actual number of poise damage it does?
- Anonymous
I am okay with the poise hit stun guaranteed 2 hit combo, but the insta-kill at 60 vigor on a full set of veteran's is a little bit too strong maybe
- Anonymous
I love how this skill look very weak , look like you just throwing the bean to your target , but yeah the one who get this bean get a lot of dmg + stumble and get second hit with can do more than 1k dmg
- Anonymous
this seems to work differently than the staff spell of the same name, has a short range and big poise damage / stagger
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Thing probably needs to have a little less stagger so it can't just one shot players but other then that it's pretty balanced.
- Anonymous
Thank you From, for giving quality builds free access to the glintstone projectile spell with the highest damage, hitstun, and poise damage.
This Ash hits surprisingly hard with huge poise damage. Very similar to the Glintblade Phalanx Ash of War, suits very good for spellblade or close combat mage builds.
- Anonymous
This thing must do 100000 poise damage because nomatter how much poise I stack getting hit by the pebble stunlocks into the follow-up.
- Anonymous
Broken ASH, Pebble stuns you 2 sec and follow attack can hit you up to 1500
- Anonymous
At present it seems to be glitched not to do anything. When the projectile hits an enemy it just despawns, at least when used on my Great Epee.
- Anonymous
Using this ash of war paired with a clayman's harpoon and alexander's shard I was dealing 1500 damage combos on meta PvP duels.
- Anonymous
despite having rogier's bell bearing and having bought all the ashes he sells before his death the glintstone pebble ash of war is just gone from my inventory? it's out of stock at his bell bearing shop too. any ideas? just learned how insanely op this is and would like to test it without having to do NG+
Quite simply one of those most slept on Ashes in the game (from a pvp perspective). This scales with Intelligence and weapon upgrade level. It will be boosted by Shard of Alexander (both the pebble and the follow up attack) and anything that scales magic damage. The follow up attack will benefit from Spear Talisman if you hit during an attack animation. I did about 150 PvP matches with this on a +25 Magic Nightrider Glaive and a Glintstone Kris (to compare their Ashes). I used a set up of weapon minimum str and dex and 80 int, Shard of Alexander, Ritual Sword Talisman, and the magic boosting physick. The pebble into R2 is a TRUE combo and is insanely lethal with this set up. I encountered one target that was able to survive the combo, and I can't be certain of his setup but the combo still hit for about 2300 damage. All the rest it connected with died in one combo. I went more in depth on the differences the Kris offers compared to this version but the TLDR is the Kris offers a further distance follow up R2 movement and a charge aspect on the pebble for mixup potential but the standard version won out heavily in overall damage considering much harder hitting weapons than daggers can equip it. Hope this helps.

This ash of war does surprisingly good damage and the follow up thrust is real nice for catching people after they realize this shitty pebble does big damage. The pebble looks like it should only sting, but so many people just sorta try to tank it only to have it do like almost half their health. Downsides are the range is a bit short on the projectile.
- Anonymous
Why does this ability have more poise damage & hitstun than every single glintstone/comet spell?
- Anonymous

Paired with Moonveill this is a monster Ash of War.
Open with Pebble and surprise them with Moonveil when they try to close.

Started using this in PVP the other day, its real nice. Enough people don't expect it to hit as hard as it does, especially followed up with the thrust (and the amount of people not leveling vigor) meaning lots of quick kills. But you have to get used to the range, I still sometimes fall just short with it.

Glintstone Sorcery VS. Ash of War
----------------------------------------------
Sorcery- 7FP Good damage for cost, high range, it's a staple
Ash of War- 7FP Higher damage, short range, shorter wind up time, but huge poise damage. Can stunlock many enemies, fulfilling the role of a nice quick parry or creating an opening for opponents that are blocking.
Wasn't expecting much from it initially, but its a huge utility piece. They are both different and serve different functions. Kinda wish they gave the AoW a slightly different name to reflect that, would be less confusing for people.
