Ash of War: Piercing Fang is an Ash of War and Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Ash of War: Piercing Fang provides Keen affinity and the Piercing Fang Skill. Ashes of War can be equipped on Weapons and Shields to modify the Skill or an equipment, or to apply affinities that modify scaling values.
This Ash of War grants an armament the Keen affinity and the following skill:
"Piercing Fang: Skill used by Yura, the Bloody Finger Hunter. Starting with the blade held horizontally, make a powerful thrust that cannot be blocked."
Usable on medium and large armaments capable of thrusting.

Where to find Ash of War: Piercing Fang:
- Acquired on the Nagakiba you recieve during Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's questline or by killing him outright. The ash can be removed from the katana. Elden Ring Map Link.

- This grants the skill Piercing Fang.
- Can be used with any affinity Upgrade.
- Can be applied to the following weapon categories, so long as the weapon allows skill replacement: Straight Swords, Greatswords, Katanas, Twinblades, Thrusting Swords, Heavy Thrusting Swords, Spears, Great Spears, Halberds

Bs ashes of war how do greatshield become playable if this thing exist? All it took is for them to switch weapon took no try when rolling is 10 time more op why would this exist?

I'm so tired of seeing every great sword use this out of hitstun, especially with the knight's greatsword. The follow up swings on the knight's greatsword make it such an obnoxious thing to react to.

Max Skill Dismounter feat Ravioli Tech would be high tier with this for additional roll-catching... 2H reverse Backstep Attack is so useful, a shame that this AoW in not available for CGS, yet phalanx which has a thrust too however...

With 1.07 this now deals the same poise damage as Unsheathe R2 with the same FP cost and has better range. The tradeoff is that it's slower and doesn't hit quite as hard. I swap to this for enemies that are weak to pierce like dragons.

Sometimes I just don't change the Nagakiba's default AoW, all for that Saito Hajime's Gatotsu shenanigans.
Does anyone know how much stance damage this beauty deals? On my Knight's Greatsword it feels like 30-40. Does it depend on the weapon?

Great for punishing enemies that hide behind shields, and is a strong gap-closer in general.

This is the best ash of war for katana. Does hella lot of damage and can be quickly used during combat and useful agains shielded mofos. All other ashes are trash (except bloodhound step). Change my mind

love watching fingerprint shitters take 900+ damage just because they thought they'd be able to block this

One of the best counters for fingerprint shield turtles. Most that I encounter are simply not aware that this will pierce through their shield so they don't even try to dodge it. Did this move two times in a row against someone using the shield with the godskin stitcher, was enough to kill him and both times he just tried blocking.

I CAN CONFIRM THIS ****S UP FINGERPRINT STONE SHIELD USERS! IT TWO SHOTS THEM!!!
Use it with the Pike Spear, Lance or a Heavy Thrusting Sword, those 3 should have enough reach to keep you safe from their pokes and might even one shot some players with low vigor!
The Teardrop Scarab page says this can be found from a Scarab in limgrave for some reason

What’s the difference between piercing fang and impaling thrust

You have to replace the ashes of war in Yura's weapon with something else before the Piercing Fang is available for another weapon

why does it say that it can be aquired by Yura? It just on the weapon you get from him
I like it because my claymore needs more thrust
