One of the greatest Dragon Communion incantations.
Harnesses the fearsome power of Bayle the Dread.

They really need to either reduce the recovery time, or make it like bayles flame lightning where recovery time is long, but you can immediately follow up with another incantation
- Anonymous
This thing is so ****ing OP against PvP enemies, it literally 1 hits and can't be staggered out of it when it's being cast. This needs a nerf.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
this being buffable by so many things makes me wonder how much damage it can actually dish out on a fully dedicated build.
- Anonymous
Put it in the garbage, breaths are better and don't need to offhand endure and tiptoe through the window by the tulips to cast it against against Ganks who will backstab you when the spell whiffs
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Curse you bayle! This incantation is just so fun it's a nice aoe that I've been using on my Pyro build super fun with Talismans of he dread and blasphemous blade
- Anonymous
the recovery time on the spell is unacceptable. Even if it was the highest damage spell the recovery would still be egregious. seriously use it on malenia she has enough time to get up and and perform the full startup of waterfowl dance before you recover
- Anonymous
Needs lava or something to stop backstabs in PVP this spell is trash
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Offhand Endure into this usually always works but is it worth it? I'm not sure, damage output at 49 ARC is subpar compared to a single freezing breath at 9 MND, requires a very calculated setup to do on the field pve/pvp wise, and while I appreciate the fix from the patch it isn't really as strong as I was expecting. All in all, disappointed and probably dropping to go back to just standard breaths which offer statuses and are more useful imo
- Anonymous
With the **** recovery time this has it needs to have the same effect as Burn o Flame & launch foes into the air. Recovery time is trash.
- Anonymous
In PVE the recovery time is so slow that enemies actually have time to get back up from the knockback and hit you
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It's ironic that even though Bayle's head appears and roars, he doesn't receive any reinforcement from the roar medallion.
- Anonymous
If the terrain allows it:
1. Kite enemy into tight corner.
2. Roll out of corner, so your enemy is now in the corner
3. Start casting this spell
4. Watch enemy panic dodge spam to get out of the corner/ past you
5. Watch him getting one shot by >2000 burst damage
6. Win

I'm trying to get a triple kill in PV.P.And it still seems to only target one person and do minimal damage to the other two. I am still trying to confirm

Second play through of SOTE and I grabbed Bayle’s Tyranny (first time grabbed Bayle’s Flame Lightning). The spell will not show up as an option to choose from my spells list, only Bayle’s Flame Lightning appearing
- Anonymous
Is it just me but with a max dragon communion seal + base requirements im struggling to kill a godrick knight at gatefront, no tailsmans though so maybe that has something to do with it
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
This would be great if it didn't have that damn long recovery time that you can't even chain cast out of. Bayles Flame Lightning has a long recovery time too, but you can chain cast out of it. You are just a sitting duck after using this and while the damage is high, its not high enough to justify that
- Anonymous
Absolute dogshit in pvp. The shout itself which deals most of the dmg is easy to dodge and you are vulnerable after casting. Also, it requires lots of buffs to make it deal enough dmg. Waste of time and effort.

Everybody is talking mad **** on this incantation and I wanna just say that it’s absolute nonsense. You need to take advantage of the fact that it does both lightning damage and magma damage. It’s highly buffable. You can’t use it to easily one shot bosses with large hit boxes fully buffed with the proper build and you can one shot groups of enemies when invading.
This “only damages one enemy with the explosion” nonsense is just that. Bayles tyranny is a f***ing hydrogen bomb when use with the correct build and it’s super easy to catch people with it because it’s one of the only incantations where you are basically impossible to knock out of the animation; unless I’m hit with an explosion spell before I complete the explosion with Bayles or an attack that does insane damage to poise which is hard since I’m floating in the air.
Also very few people are expecting to be hit by this spell so when you whip it out it’s a mad dash to get away; nobody tries to punish you because it’s not really punishable unless you’re an actual boss and even then if you’re using it correctly then they can’t punish it it just one shits them..
These reviews are goofy. Learn to use the spell. It’s a monster.

I consumed the heart and chose bayle's tyranny, but I cannot find it in my inventory, can someone help please!!

Timed Greyoll's Roar and Bayle's Tyranny. The soonest you can roll out for the former is 4 seconds after cast. Bayle's Tyranny takes 6 seconds. Thing is the dragon animation ends at 5 seconds and the last one second is just the player slowly floating back down. If they get rid of this and make it affect multiple targets this could be good. Damage wise it's 1.3k vs 2.8~3k. But Greyoll's comes with a debuff.
- Anonymous
Why is this doing less dmg than Dragonmaw? It costs 13 more and needs 20 more arc to be cast lol.
- Anonymous
The range wouldn't even be a problem if it didn't only hit a single target with the initial explosion. I'm hearing that it's a bug and I really hope it is and that it gets fixed because otherwise I have absolutely no idea why they'd make it so an AoE spell only hits 1 target for full damage. It would also be cool if the lingering magma pools lingered for more than half a second since yea, there are lingering pools of magma they just disappear so quickly you don't notice them. The two Bayle incantations honestly deserve to be stupid op with how much is required to use them along with the description and lore behind them.

I'm kind confused, this spell give magma or fire damage? there is a difference between those tipes of damage? so it gets buffed by the new talisma that encahnce magma spells right? how about the fire scorpion talisma, it buffs it as well?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The problems of this spell are:
very slow casting time and recovery
looks like a powerfull aoe hits only one target
damage is average but have high requirements
should have additional hitboxes to deal better with large enemies
The pros:
looks dope af
igon and his questline are goats
- Anonymous
Yo you guys are sleepin on this spell. Incredible for invasions. When’s 3v1s. Killed 2 phantoms with it. It can 1 shot w buffs.
- Anonymous
This spell is hot garbage but it looks cool which is why I forgive it. The problem is it's terrible range and startup which give too much time to run away and the endlag is an easy punish in pvp. I feel like if it had a size or speed buff (preferably size because it needs it when it requires the slots of greyoll's roar
- Anonymous
Really hard to predict how good this spell is in pvp or pve due to the mixed bags of opinions here. However, Bayle's Flame lightning has a more solid opinion and I have tested it in pvp (its a noob catcher) Bayle's Flame Lightning is the better spell overall (for now) because of this so i suggest you nab Flame Lightning in the first playthrough and then nab Tyranny in the second and give it a few tests.
- Anonymous
Just use theodorix’s magma, like for both pvp and pve it’s just str8 better
- Anonymous
I think the actual point of the Bayle incantations is the 0 faith.
They can be slotted into builds that pretty much no other spells can.
For instance I was able to stick it onto my occult reaper character no problem. Now she can do an extra thing she couldn't before with no extra investment at all
- Anonymous
Wdym this is good in pvp? Is there some specific setup? My experience with this in pvp is that you back up from the spell, wait for it to finish, and then smack the caster in the face while they're stuck in a long recovery animation
- Anonymous
I just wish it sounded cooler than the generic dragon REEEEEEE screech
- Anonymous
Explosion hits one enemy. Can't believe they made another Flame of the Fail God.
- Anonymous
Bayle's "ONE SHOT" Tyranny. This abomination can deal damage beyond 2.1k on PvP
- Anonymous
Good setup for pvp is using madding hand skill into bayles tyranny
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
For beating Bayle, this has to be the worst reward ever, this thing does literally 0 dmg
- Anonymous
Terrible...has the range of a dagger and only hits one enemy even though the animation is circular. I am at 64 arcane
- Anonymous
Bayle's tyranny has Strange lightning and fire explosions floor bugs, so this spell attacks Only one enemy,(lava floor not included)
so The developers should have to fix this spell
FromSoftware's developers made the weapons cool and strong.
But they always plant stupid bug problems like this, but it would be a big mistake to think that this will achieve balance.
Considering the setting, it is the strongest dragon communion incantation, so it shouldn't be given this stigma..
- Anonymous
This absolutely wrecks in coliseum btw.
Death Knight Set + Roar Tali & Dread Tali. So underused noone expects it & it hits upwards of 1.9K
- Anonymous
Takes a billion years to cast + deals considerable damage to single enemy + shows scales off only arcane, but also scales off faith (Idk much about incants, so it could be normal that it also scales over seal's sorcery scaling of faith)
- Anonymous
I really like the picture for this incantation for some reason
- Anonymous
10555 damage on mesmer's fire knight with 2 scorpions, talisman of dread, canvas talisman, 2 dragon seals, rock heart, golden vow, fire grant me strength and lightning + fire tears
- Anonymous
This should be the arcane version of ancient dragon lightning (imo)
- Anonymous
I love using the Rock Heart, sneaking up to other players, and then blasting them with this. So satisfying.
- Anonymous
This incantation is very cool, but also bugged, I hope It gets fixed asap (as others have pointed out, the roar is only dealing full dmg to a single target).
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
They need to buff the range and fix some bugged interactions
- Anonymous
After some testing this can do up to 3k damage with all buffs I could try. Seems to not be boosted by the Roar Medallion despite the other dragon incantations doing so.
Casting time is slow and damage is too low to just use on hand. Had to make a dedicated build for it to be good. Hope these get patched so they're better
- Anonymous
my testing leads me to believe this spell can deal its full damage only one to one enemy in a group around you, which is super stupid, I hope this bug gets fixed, not sure what went wrong with the coding
- Anonymous
The main issue with this spell is the awful awful hitbox, sometimes two enemies right next to each other, one receives the full damage (shout + magma) and the other doesnt get by the shout, although they are on the same radial distance, I hope this gets fixed asap, the spell is cool otherwise
- Anonymous
This thing doesn't need a massive buff to become great, either speeding it up/lowering recovery or increasing the damage to where it's just better than dragon maw would be good enough, still really fun to use. It just doesn't make any sense to me that you cast one of the most powerful entities in this universe and little chomp deals more damage
This and its counterpart need a fix/buff, and then they will be golorious.
- Anonymous
Ok, this is actually good solely because of the amount of buffs available. Flock's canvas talisman + talisman of the dread + fire scorpion charm + flame-shrouding crack tear + golden vow + howl of shibari + roar mediation?? (don't know if this boosts bayle's incantations, its under dragon communion and there is a "roar" animation, but doesn't seem to buff it) + hyperarmor + AOE.
Bayle's flame lightning can't get as much buffs as this, and for only 3 more FP it does way more damage + it deals it in an AOE.
As for the other new fire incantation in Messmer's orb, this deals more damage for 4 less FP while requiring less setup (you need to use the fire knight armor with messmer helm + fire knight seal on top of all the other buffs to even get close to Bayle's tyranny damage) and has more hyper armor .
- Anonymous
Ultimately the better option since its the only Dragon Communion spell that gives us a zoning aoe. Worth noting both only cost arcane too, so options for people who don't want to put much into faith.
- Anonymous
These incants remind me of Scarlet Aeonia, they look awesome and thrive in unique scenarios and are very costly (fp and skill wise). The fact we can even use them is awesome!

These spells could’ve worked like face trading with lightening in ds 3 but fromsoft decided no…
- Anonymous
I think the damage on this might be bugged - it does not seem to increase at all from either Fire or Lightning Scorpion Charm, nor the Roar Medallion, or the Dread Talisman. But it is boosted by the Flame and Lightning tears.
with the Rock Heart, 2 Seals, both Flocks and Faithful talismans, lightning+flame tear, golden vow, and howl of shabiri, I can get it to do about 7247 damage on one of the Omens at Underground Roadside (NG+1 with 45 faith 71 arcane) - but sometimes all of the fire doesnt hit and it does less. It seems to be the hardest hitting Dragon Communion incantation, excluding a full cast of one of the breath attacks, as long as the fire hits.
You do have Hyperarmor while casting this, but it is like Dragonclaw level of Armor and unfortunately not infinite like Dragonmaw. Considering the long amount of time it takes to cast this, and the fact that you can't roll or cast anything for a brief moment after the cast since you are in the air, this needs to have its Hyperarmor and damage both buffed, and the hitbox on the fire improved. Not to mention with the Rock Heart and Howl of Shabiri you are a complete glass canon so being locked in place like this is scary
This spell is a great reminder that you should never get too excited when a boss does something cool, because 50% of the time, the version you'll get is dogwater

If they release a balance patch to fix the problem with this Incations hitbox and AoE, it could have crazy damage potential. Its a Fire Magma Roar Dragon Communion incantation - so it can be buffed by Rock Heart, 2 Dragon Communion Seals, Golden Vow, FGMS, Roar Medallion, Dread Talisman, Fire Scorpion Charm, and Flocks Talisman - all combined thats like 4.22x multiplier from all the buffs it could have.
Fromsoft PLEASE fix the hitbox and AoE! It feels bugged with how useless it is despite looking so incredible

49 arcane is crazy it's good but a crazy amount of investment

The entire time igon is with you he spews hate for the dragon, they both fought eachother and igon was injured swearing revenge, his bow dosent fire great arrows but instead "harpoons"...elden ring has you fighting a modern version of moby **** alongside cpt. Ahab

Beat this guy after about 10 tries on my Str/Fth build. I would definitely summon Igon, the enemy seems to aggro him much more often than a normal summon which fits with the quest well. Used Protection of the Erdtree and Malikeths Blade AoE while I was directly under him, my mimic mostly just drew aggro too lol. Luck plays a part for sure, it terms of having time to summon Igon right at the start without getting fire breathed.
- Anonymous
No faith just arcane, now if only they would rework the base game dragon spells to be the same they must understand tying them to faith was a mistake if they stopped doing it for the dlc.

probably never gonna use this but that description goes crazy, my lil tarnished unknowingly becoming a reincarnation of deranged satanic omen ancient dragon bro <3

How would this compare to Greyoll's roar? Any answers? I'm actually kinda bummed there aren't some Dragon Communion spells that give us wings or tails. (I just sorta mimic the theme by using Crucible Tail XD)

go for the other one, this spell is a trap, small aoe, no knockback, and mid damage. the other one has similar issues but at least that one can softly be aimed a little
