Covers self with the Scadutree's impenetrable thorns
![]() |
Mantle of Thorns is a Sorcery in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Sorcery in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Mantle of Thorns spell that covers the caster with damaging Scadutree thorns.
Sorcery of those who abandoned the practice of incantations after devout faith rewarded them with only despair. Covers the caster in impenetrable thorns grown from the Scadutree. Once covered, dodge rolls will damage enemies. The image of the misshapen Scadutree is an edict: Spurn all that exists. Wound all that exists. For we have been abandoned.

Stacks with briar armor.
Now you can feel slightly less pain on roll damage only runs

Was hoping this would give us the glory days of the Thorn Armor, but oh well. Guess I can do a minor amount of trolling in PvP at least.

Stacks incredibly with the briar armor, turning like 20 damage into 128 or something. When 5x the damage is still less than a +0 starting weapon attack you know it's good!

For some reason this seems to multiply with the briar armor. This thing alone does about 20 damage and the briar set does a bit more, but when used together they can reach around 200 which is not too too bad.

Start the clock until the light roll thorns videos come out.

With a +25 Staff of the Guilty which scales with Faith and a character with 70 Faith. A roll with this spell does a grand total of 23 damage. It probably also gives bleed, but that would scale with arcane, not faith. And since spells will only scale when cast with a weapon that has arcane scaling, it's impossible to make the bleed from this spell scale. And the roll damage also does not scale.

I would have no problem with this spell if they increase defense as a whole and proc bleed fast
You gotta love their trolling. 14 new sorceries only (28 Incants, 25 Ash of Wars, 100 new weapons) and one of them was wasted on this.... Like, you could not make this up LMAO

Was kind of hoping this would return a portion of the damage dealt to you back at the enemy.
