A finger sorcery of Count Ymir, aspiring mother of fingers.

Is this only for fending against projectiles or does it also inflict damage to near by enemies?

I might be crazy but I'm thinking of using this against the final boss of the dlc. No clue if it'll work, and it's gonna suck to get the timing, but if what anon said is true about it working against placi's nuke, it should work against a few big attacks there.

Surprisingly very good against enemies that rush you. casting it gives you poise and very good damage reduction so really good in PvP as well when baiting and trading with opponents

I'd expect this spell to require arcane, it's a spell unique to Ymir (who uses an arcane staff) and it literally summons live fingers.

Surprised Miyazaki didn't add a feet variant of this spell

The "wards off" funcions like a parry, on a spell with not so short casting, so that's not very good. It also functions like a self-perserving AoE, and it do got some stagger going for it, while the fully charged version can send something like a Fire Knight flying up, but otherwise it's not very impressive.

Casting it also boosts your poise and gives you a LOT of damage reduction when the fingers emerge (probably 80%). A spell for trading in pvp it seems.

Check the graveyard connected to the Church, after completing Ymir’s questline.

> The fingers clasp what they hold dear, with the warmth of a mother's last wishes.
Least vague Fromsoft description.

fun fact: you can use this spell to deflect your own spells and incantations, and if they're homing that means you can alter their dodge timings, sort of like twisted wall of light from DS3
thank me later
