With the Radagon Icon talisman, the casting time is incredibly quick— I could see the benefit of having your opponent lose lock on you and you be able to still attack quickly.

A really fun spell made entirely useless by the fact that it's a spell instead of an Ash of War for staves (and other stuff, I guess, but I really wish we had more than ONE staff AoW).

wait, is this reference to Miria from Claymore? she has very similar fighting move to this, called Phantom Mirage

Should've just reskinned Bloodhound step AOW with new particle effects and perfect. I'll continue to work on getting this to work properly for me but seems inconsistent and only reliable blink is straight ahead.

I managed to find a niche but practical use for this spell.

In phase 1, Commander Gaius' main forward dash attack requires your dodge roll to be virtually frame perfect or you fail. But it has an obvious tell and a bit of ramp up. Which means unless he started the charge while close up to me, I could easily get the cast off and hold forward to phase out of the attack safely.

This is a great concept but the casting time/animation make it feel kind of underwhelming despite the usefulness it has. It just doesn't feel like a cool new spell due to how boring using it is. I think a great improvement would be the casting time and allowing the player to cast it while in motion/running. It would feel more realistic for lack of a better term.

                  Why not just.... roll?
This thing just feels unreliable at best in PvE and feels like it only exists for PvP which is a shame because the concept is really cool.

Oh also, there was a vid that showed this spell costing 0 FP to cast, but I think that was a bug. Currently it's definitely costing 9 FP.

Some additional notes: You can teleport in-place if you start a teleport while stationary. Also, you decide your direction very very late in the cast (I think it just checks what direction you're holding at the moment the actual teleport starts, although if you start a teleport while stationary then you can ONLY teleport in place, so you need to be holding SOME direction at the start of the animation to start a moving teleport). I pvp very little (and play sorc very little), but I'm guessing that means you can juke enemies a bit by teleporting in a direction they didn't expect based on your prior movement (e.g. run towards them and then teleport backwards and shoot, or run backwards and teleport forwards and slash). (I'm the anon who posted about the frame data below, I only just finished actually getting a sorc character to actually try this spell myself.)

                      • Just done spam cast because you're just wasting fp at that point.

Great for pvp, serviceable in pve. Guy below this comment details on the frames and how it allows chain casting to different spells, keeps your opponent guessing on what you'll cast next (adula/gavel seems like the best choice).

I personally use it for retreating. Cast to teleport to the back and cast Carian phalanx, works great to apply some defense against bum rushers and provides an extra layer of security (PVP and PVE).

Fat sorceress build: overburdened, Verdigrus Discus, Carian Sorcery Sword w/ another rapier, max dex, use this spell to dodge instead of overburdened roll.

Disclaimer: this is not good, but it "works" lol.

In case anyone was wondering… the startup animation is greatly reduced if you’re using virtual dex tools. I think people just haven’t gotten used to the utility yet but they just gave wizards a blink. I guarantee good players will learn timing.

So this spell is actually wild. Per the frame data: After 26 frames of startup, you get 28 iframes, but you can cancel SPECIFICALLY INTO MAGIC starting on the 13th iframe (15 frames before you can cancel into anything else). Now: I have no idea if that means you get up to 15 frames of invincible spellcasting, or if the iframes stop as soon as you start casting, but I know from a reddit clip (named "Miriam's Vanishing might just be my new favorite spell in the game...nothing personell, kid") that you can be fading in from your teleport and already be in the middle of casting your followup (e.g. Adula's Moonblade), so this ssssoooort of lets you reposition (and have iframes) WHILE casting, potentially letting you cast stuff (especially close range stuff) much more aggressively. I'm not into spellcasting but this spell might make me into spellcasting.

Casting needs to be faster, distance created needs to be larger, slot cost rised up to two in exchange...this thing must act as a big middle finger to any poke build in pvp that wants to stick like glue to you, to allow you to cast, otherwise there is no reason to use it...i would just use storm assault to keep them away...or light roll...
