Lordsworn's Greatsword is a Greatsword in Elden Ring. The Lordsworn's Greatsword scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity is a good Weapon for melee users who want to perform longer-reaching heavier hits.

Well-crafted straight sword with an illustrious design, wielded by regulars of a lord's army.

Through blackened and damaged by years of use, it appears to have otherwise been kept in a serviceable condition, despite the soldiers having long since lost their minds.

The only greatsword featuring an above average critical modifier of 110, making it a solid choice for those who prefer a playstyle involving critical strikes (parries & backstabs).

NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, speed, range, recovery time and guard counter speed of Greatswords weapons has increased.

  This weapon is exceptionally good if you put impaling thrust on it.
  Fast, great damage, overhead chops, wide swings, a trust that does 33 stance damage and a 110 crit modifier.
  You only need 11 strength to two-hand it and you can get the weapon and the ash of war at the start of the game.

  My first greatsword, stagger a lot of dangerous enemies, only need 11 str to try, 110 crit, i immediately feell in love with greatsword class, but as i proceed through the story and found more greatsword, i'm slowly leaving it behind, i'm just gonna leave this comment to pay respect to it, without it i would never know how good greatsword class is, a legendary armament at least to me.

  A reliable weapon throughout basically the entire game. The scaling isn’t as high as some other weapons, sure, but it’s really not far off from more popular weapons like the Claymore.
  
  I tend to dual-wield this with the Bastard Sword in my offhand, since both share the same length.

  I remember finding this on day 1 of ER release, and remembering how dominant Claymore was in DS3 PVP, and so assuming that this thing would be a PVP monster too. Guess that never came true. I don't use it much but I do have a weird fondness for it, I always pick it up and never sell it or throw it away.

  Used it at the start of the game. Then found moon veil and rivers of blood and left it in the inventory. Couldn't beat Elden beast with them and picked it up again. I won. Never letting it go again.

  I was confused at first because this weapon looks larger when the soldiers use it and their moveset resembles more of a colossal sword than than a greatsword. For a moment I thought it was a weapon that wasn't accessible to us like the pumpkin dudes hammers.

  If you're working towards a Strength build this is a solid option for the early game. If you start as Hero you literally need only one level into Dex to use it, and after it gets to +4, it can do good damage until you find better-scaling options like Greatsword.

  The Lordworn's Greatsword is the workhorse of the Tarnished fleet. It's not long or flashy, but it gets the job done. The versatility on this sword is extensive and the stats will help you cut down just about anything, which is good because the next respawn will be far from your last.

  I like how the soldiers who wield this can use Charge Forth while wielding this, and their heavy swings can send you flying for some reason, yet you can't do any of that when you use it yourself, typical From logic.

  As a dark souls player I was blown all the way away when I found this so early on. Is this the new claymore? I thought. But with 110 crit?! I immediately imagined it becoming the workhorse of thousands of playthroughs, the very image of PvP. How wrong I was

  Contrary to popular belief, at most reasomable level investments, this sword does not scale best with the Quality affinity (at least without spending a solid bit more levels than to achieve comparable damage to Heavy). At 60 Vigor and 80 Strength on a Vagabond at level 117 (most efficient class for those stats), it gets an AR of 701 when two-handed with the Heavy Affinity. AT 45/45 Strength/Dex at level 117 on a Vagabond (also the most efficient class), it gets an AR of 658 when two-handed with the Quality Affinity. 52/52 Strength Dex (or 14 extra levels of investment) is needed to match the damage output (701 AR) of 80 Strength on Heavy. If pushing to higher levels, quality becomes a better option, though at most meta levels for NG Heavy is best at it gets the same damage at 14 levels less, allowing for investment into around 25 Faith for buffs such as Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, and weapon buffs such as Electrify Armament, Bloodflame Blade, or Black Flame Blade to even futher the gap between Heavy and Quality.
  
  tl;dr If you plan to stay at relatively meta levels, Heavy is by far the best choice as it allows stat flexibility for Faith investment to further heavily boost damage. Quality lags behind stat efficiency wise, but eventually comes out on top at higher than meta levels, and is good for NG+ runs.

  I don't know if this is the right place to ask, I swapped 'stamp upward cut' for sword dance on this pretty much at the start of my game and I haven't given it a second thought since. Someone was saying they didn't get the 'lions claw' AoW after a spirit summons killed the lion guardian in fort gael that drops it, and had been locked out of getting it for that playthrough. I know it's the default skill on the claymore but when I put a different AoW on mine the 'lions claw' I'd removed didn't show in the menu as being available to put on a different weapon. I also noticed the 'stamp upward cut' I'd taken off my lordsworn's greatsword wasn't available to put on another weapon either. Before anyone suggests it, I wasn't trying to put an AoW on a weapon which wouldn't allow that skill. The thing that's puzzling me is it seems to be arbitrary which AoW will and wont show in the menu after being taken off a weapon, when I took 'glint blade phalanx' off Rogier's rapier it was showing as being available to use on a different weapon. Can anyone explain this please?

  I've just seen someone commenting on the godskin noble wiki page, saying they get something like 600 damage out of the bloodhound fang at +6. I don't remember what stats they listed, but I have the lordsworn greatsword at either +16 or +17 I have around 30 in STR and I've invested a relatively small amount of points in DEX I think its at 17, but even when taking any infusion and messing around with the scaling out of the equation, my base damage is nowhere near 600? Does anyone see any obvious reason I'd be getting just under 400 damage out of it with these upgrades and stats? or is that sort of damage about right in terms of what I should expect from lordsworn's greatsword with the stats I have?

  got this right at the start from its chest, I've found a lot of weapons since but this is still my go-to weapon. I'm at +18 using sword dance, I was using wild-strikes for a good while but connecting every hit of sword-dance and the follow up attack it has is very satisfying, it also does a lot of damage.

  I see a lot of confusion in the comment about whether this sword can be farmed or not. The answer is: no, it cannot. Most people that claim to have farmed this most likely confuse it for the straight sword. This one is unique to the chest at the stormgate.

  A good workhorse weapon with a higher Crit to boot. Currently using it with Flame of the Redmanes and Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger, each Crit returns 13 FP to me which means most trades are just -1 FP!

  Been using this on my pure strength build since I found it (as it had higher base damage for its speed than anything else at +3) up until the Grand Cloister (which is as far as I've gotten). The extra reach is great and I find it poise breaks most stuff-two Two-handed charged R2s can stagger a Troll. The heavy scaling at B is a little disappointing, though; be nice to see it at an A.

  Greatswords seem to have gotten the shaft in this game. I really hope they put some balance to them. I dont know if they are underpowered or so many other weapons are overpowered. I just know that this weapon even with heavy, 80 str, and +25 is outdone by most other weapons in the game.

  This comboed with Flame of Redmanes is a ridiculous combo. The 110 crit multiplayer is really good combined with the evereso glorious stagger dmg of Redmanes. Staggers everything within 1-3 uses.

  Interestingly, This is one of the very few weapons that actually had a better Quality scaling than Heavy or Keen scaling.

  does Determination AoW stack on critical hits? if so, it would easily be the best AoW for this weapon

  Best workhorse sword in the game. Level 45 w25 strength and a pair of charged R2's can stunlock almost anything; and not lock bosses but stun even them (even Rhadan).
  
  The stamina cost appears to be lower than most greatswords either, so you get that extra attack, or even better, that extra roll out of it....

  Can confirm (80 arcane) this drops everywhere that there are soldiers carrying them, literally every area has them somewhere close to grace!

  convenient if you want to try out the moonlight (dark moon) greatsword and aren't actually a sorcerer at heart, can just get this and put some magic infusion on it until you work your way far enough into ranni while practicing your casting

  This weapon is little bit shorter than other great swords and entire class of great sword in this game is outclassed by curved great sword imo so pls don't use it

  Other greatswords are probably better but I really like the look of this one. The white, gold and red is nice.

  Currently have mine at +18 as the main hand weapon of my power stance greatsword build. Been using it the entire game and it hasn't failed me yet. Looks great and scales pretty well, especially when you make it heavy.
  
  Threw bloodhound step on it and I'm untouchable on top of doing obscene damage

  I know you can get this weapon from a chest, but is it possible for Greatsword-weilding Godrick Soldiers to drop this weapon? I've been farming the run up to Stormveil all day, and the only items I can't get to drop are the Lordsworn's Greatsword, and whatever spear the Lordsworn's Shield Godrick Soldiers are using. After almost 7 hours, I think it's just straight up not possible.

  This is my main weapon since i found it like an hour into the game. Got it to +15 and have Determination skill on it. currently at 35ST & 25DEX this thing does some monster damage, especially the jumping heavy attacks. Great against bosses, throw some magic or fire oil on it, then when that runs out, start pumping your attacks with determination. If i had to compare this to a Dark Souls weapon, i would say its very similar to the Black Knight sword. Just an all around good sword that can carry you through the game.

  how does this pierce dmg works this weapons doesn't have a thrust and the majority of greatswords don't except for the claymore

  I have it at +14 and fused it with magic, it is quite strong for most of the situations I find myself in, but it sucks for early game. Good option as a infused weapon

  People might not notice, but this sword is one of best greatswords when it comes to making uses of an enemy weakpoint. What it lacks in standard damages, it gains in critical damage as critical hits deals 10% more damage any other greatswords. Some thing its damage output is like a straight sword, but there's one major different which is the weight affinity of one's. For those who don't know, the weight affinity is basically how the weight of a weapon = how much impact is dealt by the weapon against the poise resistance of the target. This sword has twice the value of most straight sword, meaning it can break through shields and stag enemies 2x faster per hit than most straight sword.

  Currently powerstancing both this and Bastard Sword, both at +19 and heavy. Bastard already has A strength scaling compared to Lordsworn's B. Maybe at higher level Lordsworn's gets to A as well and catches up but right now with 75 strength we are looking at a 60+ difference in AR in favor of Bastard. Jumping powerstance attack usually does more damage than Lordsworn's critical strikes so that advantage is out of the window as well.

  Great sword for alt builds that dont stat dump str dex. Your greatsword weilding mage or light load parry rouge, or vit stamina knight can use this with minimum investment.
