What reason is their for very little characters to live by the time you finish? This isnt dark souls where the world is basically ending and people die without purpose. They could just give you or leave their gear where they were you shouldn't need to strip your friends corpse for goodies 95% of the time

      • Anonymous

to anyone complaining about terrible quest structure and regarded lock out points, just be glad this is still lightyears ahead of lords of the fallen 2023

        • Anonymous

What's up with the "this game sucks, this NPC sucks, this questline sucks, this dialogue sucks, the lore sucks, the voice acting sucks, none of this means anything, every other game is better than this" people that crop every time you try discuss something vaguely related to the narrative or characters? I can't be the only one who has noticed them. They're honestly just insufferable and should go somewhere else if they hate it this much.

          • Anonymous

where do the NPCs get their hair done? i dont see any barber shops on the map and idk if they have even invented scissors yet?

            • Anonymous

It's a f**king joke at this point. All dlc npcs listed either die, become a spirit ash or go in a vegetative state. If every person gets sad ending, then it just takes away any investment I can have in them. At least in base game some npcs had nice endings which gave me hope for others

              • Anonymous

I often talk to female npcs and pretending they are my gf. It's the only thing keeping me sane. I can only hope one day they can become real.

                • Anonymous

just saw the art for the new knight chick in the discount band of the hawk in the dlc and all i can think about is how delectable her grippers may be, please help me

                  • Anonymous

                    It's depressing how many NPCs end up dead either by us or some other circumstances in this game. So many sad endings ;~;

                    • Anonymous

Sorry, you've already messed up a NPC's questline in the DLC. You didn't give an owl a shabiri grape after killing 312 celebrants.

                      • Anonymous

would appreciate a separate page for spirits tbh, for the purpose of organization but also to make sure all of the spirits and their dialogue are documented. a lot seem to be missing here

                        • Anonymous

see I don't hate how they did the quests but I just don't think it fits the OW. playing hide and go seek on an entire continent is just too ridiculous.. and honesty that sums up why I'm not as huge of a fan of this game as most people. they changed it to OW, but didnt really try to make anything fit around that. at least they added a map, I guess.

                          • Anonymous

so bad, all those npcs are flowers pots, even demon souls ps3 had better and logical questing.
the best roleplay of this dumpster game is to kill everyone, it's very immersive. also same voice actors since 15 year xD
ranni is an entire dlc, while the others are just useless at best xD but problem is she the same generic anime witch you see in all souls games, mixed with the doll of bloodborne, so unique xD

                            • Anonymous

What about the mysterious man in volcano manor who asks you to kill Rykard. He's not listed here and I don't believe he tells you who he is. Who is he?

                              • Anonymous

Kill a killable NPC and you have to point down emote at their corpse. It's how elden ring is supposed to be played.

                                • Anonymous

Yeah... they could have done a bit better of a job with the quest progression. Or at least giving the player an idea of where to go. The Npc icons are a very welcome addition.

"Search every single square inch of Atlas Plateau" is not a good hint. I'm not looking for a quest marker, but damn. I had a good idea of where to find Coryn, but I still walked right past him because I wasn't on the road.

Ironically, because I was exploring and trying to find everything, I almost missed him because I didn't follow the most direct route. Is "Hey Tarnished, over here!" too much hand holding? Overall, I think this approach works in their previous titles, but not in an open world where the npcs barely stick out of the environment.

                                  • Anonymous

I don't know how to feel about ER/SB quests... On one hand for those who care to complete every quest without looking things up, it is borderline impossible. And I don't think it's intended. I think we are supposed to work together and log these things for others to be able to complete them. I wish there was a way to do it in-game though.

And on the other hand it is so cool when you're just walking through an are exploring or happen to revisit an area just to see an old friend you weren't expecting.

                                    • I can't figure out how to fix this in the edit screen, but morgot's picture leads to renna's page. Someone else who knows how this works fix it.

                                      • Anonymous

Why do you have to talk to them multiple times to get them to spit out all their dialog? I keep hearing the same line of dialog twice cause sometimes I can't tell if they're done talking or not.

                                        • Anonymous

                                          SPOILERS.

I'd say the most saddest part about this is that most of the likeable npcs you've met through the Journey really are proud of your achievements, thankful for your help and in return did what they could to help you and actually for once in a god damn RPG game,Acknowledges you as the Elden Lord...But alas.

By the end of the game,They'll sadly never get to see how far you came because fate is cruel

Got to altus plateau and thought it was a bit easy for a from game....oh how wrong was I. What an experience

Love how they have every spirit except for the Gelmir Knight in Volcano Manor, arguably the most important spirit of them all

Don't the spirits do nothing other than offer some cryptic lore dialog to their areas? Not sure why there's a dedicated page for every single one.

I don’t have any solutions, but I really think From should get an improved system for player experience of quests

I don’t know how man, I just think they would be more proud if they could create a much more smooth experience for the different circumstances in which players complete the quests

                                                    • Anonymous

Miyazaki: hmmmmmm….lets give the world with the most wholesome, attractive and nicest npcs sadder questlines then bloodborne and dark souls!

                                                      • Anonymous

The BEEG Albinuric that is part of Latenna's quest is called "Phillia, Towering Little Sister".

While we're at it, it would probably be worth putting Latenna, the Albinuric on here too.

There's a guy at the end of the hallway with the drawing rooms at Volcano Manor that appears after you've assissinated two of your targets. He tells you about Rykard and asks you to kill him. Shouldn't he be listed here as well? I'm asking because I've never heard about him anywhere.

Did a quick count, there's like 28 npcs that have a bad ending or one where they die tragically, and 9 have good or content endings

                                                            • Anonymous

help i accidentally kill varre & kenneth haight in my every single playthrough, any idea why are there 2 particular npc are so fun to kill?

For being the most 'bright' entry in the souls series, Elden Ring has some of the most brutal ends for the npcs

                                                                • Anonymous

It's crazy how most of these NPCs die or go mad if you progress their questlines. Very few of them get a somewhat happy ending. FromSoft is brutal

                                                                  • Anonymous

Some merchants play beautiful songs on their violins, including a section of the Gerhman's theme. Don't kill them because you will miss out on beautiful music

                                                                    • Anonymous

The frustrating part of these games is how sometimes an NPC will simply disappear without saying where they're going, and you either have to stumble upon them in this huge world by luck or Google where the **** they went to so that you can continue a questline. Diallos is a perfect example. One minute he's at the roundtable, all he asks of you is to look for his servant, then he just disappears. Why make the game more difficult than it already is lol

                                                                      • Anonymous

I swear to ****ing christ, soulsborne fandom is riddled with the whiniest bunch of entitled pricks I've ever heard of. You lot really make the world a shittier place. Now go ahead and downvote me into oblivion, ya buncha incel edgelords. I'm gonna go enjoy this incredible game (and I'll try to stop reading comments on fex, but it'd also be cool if y'all would quit being actual cretins).

                                                                        • Anonymous

I killed every merchant i could find, for their stuff :D
That was very tiresome though, so after that i went home and played some Elden Ring.

                                                                          • Anonymous

I like how there are two different NPC sections on this page: Merchants/Trainers, and every other NPC... yet there's like 6 different merchants in the "Other" section (Patches, Gowry, Gostoc, Blackguard, Seluvis, and literally the merchant with the largest and most important inventory in the ****ing game: Twin Husks)
Or why is Rennala in the Trainer section? Like maybe on a technicality sure, but then why would she be a trainer and not MELINA the npc that ****ing levels you???

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

George Martin will "create" the "4 fingers" soon.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                                    • Anonymous

I have been trying to do research to find out but can't seem to find anything, does anyone know why lore wise there seems to be 2 of every character, the ones you meet as NPC's that you chat to and they nearly all seem to have a red invasion version that will attack you at certain locations like Millicent is an NPC at the top of a hill in Caelid with a questline and she is pure friend. Also in Caelid at the bottom in the Scarlett rot swamp a red version of her will attack you. According to NPC's and stories these invading characters are canon in the world as you have to fight several of them that know NPC's like Eleanora with Yura or the fight against Dungeater with Boggart but I can't seem to find any lore reason as to why there seem to be so many evil clones.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

the only 3 surviving ones (not counting merchants) for me are Miriel, Varre and Gowry.

                                                                                          • Anonymous
