Night's Cavalry is an Armor Set in Elden Ring. Pitch-black armor thinly painted with dried blood. Worn by Night's Cavalry who ride funeral steeds. The Night's Cavalry, who now wander the dim roads of night, were once led by the Fell Omen and were deliverers of death for great warriors, knights, and champions.
Sets of Armor in Elden Ring are composed of four armor pieces which are Helms, Chest Armor, Gauntlets, and Leg Armor.
Where to find Night's Cavalry Set in Elden Ring
You can find the Night's Cavalry Set within the Consecrated Snowfield: From the Inner Consecrated Snowfield site of grace at night, look southwest and there will be a Carriage being pulled by two Trolls and guarded by two Night's Cavalry escorts. Kill both the escorts to receive the armor alongside an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. See the location in the Elden Ring Map

altered the helmet, and never remove the helmet, this is the way.

this armor goes so hard with the skeletal mask from the Ravenmount assassin set

Imagine being disappointed by this set because it looks so awesome yet it stats suck. Couldn't be me. Fashion over defensive stats in any souls games. Just git gud
- Anonymous
It’d be cool if this set gave you a percentage based bonus to horseback damage. Like the crucible or omen sets.

I love how this set looks, but it's a shame that you can't change the color of other metallic armor pieces to match the dark steel of this one
- Anonymous
Great set it actually looks better on a female character than male
Tip: when you see the siloets of the Nights cavalry agro 1 of the Nights cavalry with a kucri or a ranged armament and take it out
- Anonymous
While the nights cavalry are indeed a reference to the Nazgul, since they are 9, and they wear black attires and ride funeral steeds.
However, the design of the armor looks rather similar to the ones we can find Guts wearing in Berserk. There is nothing wrong with it, they decided to make NC wear a heavy armor rather than cover it with a black tunic, and the armor looks alike Berserk one. Its perfect for cosplaying a Nazgul AND Guts, and is also very pretty overall, as it fits almost any build, has good poise/defenses weitgh ratio

bruh if you kill the night as he is getting on the horse it might glitch killing him but not his horse
you can proceed to punch the horse and watch it run away but do nothing, have fun with temporary fren

>wow, black armor! is this a guts cosplay item!?
Seriously. Enough is enough.

For some reason, the 2 Night's Cavalry just aren't in this caravan in my game. Instead there's two mercenaries with crossbows. Anyone know why I don't have the right enemies and can't get this armor?

This armor being locked in one of the last areas of the game is really weird, because it's not particularly strong or even exclusive to that area, since you see Night's Cavalry pretty early on the game

Really cool looking and has decent defense/weight. A shame tho it comes so ridiculous late game that at that point i could just equip really heavy armor and stay at midroll.
- Anonymous
Can we all take a moment to appreciate this set for being decently well rounded, very nice looking, and might be the only set that has an angry face helmet... 10/10

Very late in the game I'm on lvl 98 and my gear is far better than this cool armor

This set and Malikets Helmet together make me look like Guts, Iam happy, but I also want a Falcon helmet for a Griffith cosplay with the Loretta armor
- Anonymous
This with Gideon Ofnir's Helmet, nightrider flail and a straight sword with flaming strike or fire grease is proly the closest thing you could get to a Witch King of Angmar cosplay.
At the time im arriving at the mountaintops, i already have a full build. This armor is meaningless, itll never go into a build of mine. You want to play the game as a Night Cavalry? Sure, you can get the Weapons pretty much from the get go. But the armor? Nah its pretty much at the end. I want to stick to an Armor, i want to play the whole game with the armor. What a damn shame. What did they even think? The game is pretty much over at that point. Dont lock cool armor and weapons behind so much of the game, Fromsoft. Im willing to traverse the entire map, dying on my way there a dozen times but its an adventure. Its part of the fun. Then i have that heavy armor that i cant even wear and then i grow into it by playing the game. Im beyond disappointed with this, because this armor looks so cool and i really wanted to make a NC Cosplay build. But Fromsoft had to Ruin ny dreams.

The Guts cosplay set. If only the helmet looked a little more like the berserker armor.

I personally love this armor set. Really adds flair to the whole Black knight look. Add a spiked crown to the helm and you would look like Sauron!

I just wish it wasn't so filthy. Bloodstains go away when you rest at a site of grace with other clothing...

This is about the closest thing we get to the black iron armor, rest in peace tarkus thanks for fighting the iron golem with me only to get thrown off from the grab attack.
- Anonymous
From one perspective this could be a nazgul/sauron set. The other is the berserker armor from berserk (closet in the game). Third aspect, with the bandit hood, is the forlorn armor from Dark Souls 2 (different color scheme and capeish).

If you replace the helmet with Fia's hood, you more or less look like a Nazgul. And if you have the sick glowing yellow eyes from the Frenzied Flame, you just look ****ing COOL. Really sells a corrupt inhuman look.

This set actually fits well with a blood themed build. As per description - "Pitch-black armor thinly painted with dried blood".
It gets coated with fresh blood throughout your murderous journey, and it really stands out a lot more being pitch black armor.
- Anonymous
Combine the head and chest w/ Lionel's arms and boots for extra poise and dmg reduction while still keeping the black iron aesthetic. The Night's cav chestpiece causes thick leg armor to become way thinner and it's really cool
- Anonymous
These two will reset their aggro if they get too far away from the caravan. They will literally stop fighting you and just start walking back towards the direction of the caravan. Pick them off then.
- Anonymous
Definitely the closest armor set to the berzerker armor albeit pre guts and a little less skull-like but sadly the maliketh hem doesn't allow for plumage removal so this is the best we got outside of going helm less in which case the bliadd set might be better if only for the better-looking cape.

pair this with the Royal Remains Helm and a scythe for the perfect Harbinger of Death look
- Anonymous
I really wish it had some sort of passive to make it stand out, like enhancing attacks on horseback or something, kinda like how the Crucible Knight set boosts their specific incantations.
- Anonymous
One of my biggest peeves with this game; why so much late game armor/weapons (which usually look much cooler) are blatantly worse then ones you can find way earlier with little to no effort. I love the Night Calvary set so much, but it's stats are just meh compared to even the banished knight set, why!? :(
- Anonymous
You can aggro them one at a time if you have a bow...saved me a LOT of pain xD
- Anonymous
What would be a good replacement for greaves and gauntlets to get higher poise?
- Anonymous
I use the night cavalry chest(altered), glove and pant with commoner headband(altered), looks very nice!

For me, fighting them one at a time makes the other vanish. I can hear the other rider horse's foot steps, but seems invisible?

I stood on the rocks by the dead dude in chair that has a stonesword key, waited for the caravan to come by and spammed them with Rock Sling. Occasionally they'd come up and hit me so I'd have to swing a sword but they'd usually then return to the bottom. Once one of them ran off not to be found, killed the other but they both respawned.
After a few tries I killed them both got the 'Enemy Felled' message and got the set. Then where the last one was the spooky horse remained. I could damage him ceaselessly but not kill him. Now the horse is just standing there looking at me.
I wish I could keep him. I really really wish I could keep him. Please can I keep him?

Pair with the confessor hood for all your edgy bloodborne fashion needs.
- Anonymous
NOO why is it so late into the game!
i gotta wait until the endgame to get the ultimate elden bling, quite poetic

One of the most badass looking sets in the game. I suggest wearing the bandit mask with it. Looks great with Maliketh's weapon, too.

Why do people use Blaidd's armour for Guts builds when this exists?
- Anonymous
Surprised this set didn’t have a stat bonus. Like 5% increase in physical attacks at night.
- Anonymous
This set looks cool, but its a shame that its so weak in terms of protection. Even the Scaled Armor is better than this and you get that way earlier in the game. Imo, this should have been a heavy knight set, as it even looks like it should weight a ton, being plate. I dont really understand why do they make these knight sets so weak and light. When i saw the stats on this set after some rage inducing mounted combat, i legit went "Wtf? Why did i even bother?". Then they decide to make the heaviest stuff look so ridicilous and ugly, that theres no way in hell iam gonna ever use them.
I guess the perfect solution to this, would be to be able to alter the sets to your playstyle, maybe being able add more protection but increase the weight even more, or being able to reduce weight even more with the cost of protection. But that system is so barebones, i dont think ive ever used it once on any piece of gear. It seriously needs to be improved upon.
The fight itself though. The only difficult thing about it is Torrent dying constantly from one-two hits and then you are just lying on the floor, being pummeled to death. The more i play this game, the more i seem to want to make glue out of him. But you can semi-cheese the AI by standing on the nearby rocks, where they spawn. They will occasionally run against the rocks under you, or even just give up on you. Then you can just use range attacks to whittle them down or fight them 1v1. They seem to want to follow the caravan, even if there is a fight going on.
- Anonymous
You can cheese them pretty easy. If you lead them (one at a time) back to the inner snowfield grace their AI will break and they will just ride without getting aggro, even when attacked.

If you don the helmet of the all knowing it has a dollar store witchking vibe
- Anonymous
Make sure you beat BOTH the Night Cavalry enemies in Consecrated Snowfields to get this, beating just one isn't enough and they will respawn if you rest at a site of grace if you don't beat both

Champion Headband goes very well as an alternative helmet: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Champion+Headband

They don’t spawn for me. Reloaded at night 20+ times. Road the caravan al the way to the end. Then I went back and found I had missed killing one Knight Calvary in Forbidden Lands. Still no spawn.
- Anonymous
For those who haven't had it spawn for you, make sure it's night time. You could also try resting at the nearby grace (Inner Consecrated Snowfield) WHILE it's night time. Worked for me, hope this helps!
It would seem that if you get the cavalry far away enough from the carriage their pathfinding will break and they'll go in for an attack but stop to return to the carriage, I was able to cheese the Galive wielding one by using the great glintstone sorcery and shooting them as they were walking away.

If only there was a dark looking medium shield to go with it and the flail.

The fight for this armor is possibly one of the most difficult group encounters in the game! 2 Cavalry in an area with lightning bolts that can one shot you, multiple stealth infantrymen, you get invaded by an npc slightly down the path, and there is a giant frost spirit a bit further down the path! Feels intentionally difficult since the rewards are great!
- Anonymous
the new update must of broke getting this. Killed him 5 times and didn't get it

I wear this with the altered helm and use the dark moon greatsword and regal scepter. Looks quite weird lol
I’m not saying it’s a reference or anything silly like that - but aside from the helmet, this set really does remind me of Gut’s Black Swordsman armor, the heavy cloak and jet black plate work really well for that sort of vibe. Makes for a good “evolved” Vagabond or Inquisitor type character.

I killed one of the knights calvary in the snow field but I cannot find the other. Any fixes? It doesn't spawn with the caravan

Yo this armor is sick! Anyone on ps4/5 with dupe save care to drop me this set for a new character??
- Anonymous
Think this set might have been swapped with Royal Knight armor under types in the inventory seeing how this set shares a similar weight/defence with Blaidd's while Royal Knight shares similar stats with crucible/veteran/Radahn.
- Anonymous
This really gives me nazgul vibes from lord of the rings. Just need to find a black tattered hood. Could make for some awesome cosplay builds
- Anonymous
I like to believe that this is just a reference to Monty Python's Black Knight.
- Anonymous
BUG FOUND! I killed the flail knight but died to the halberd knight and now they are not spawning. All I wanted was to cosplay a Night Calvary :(
- Anonymous
Shame there's no shield to compliment my Black Iron Tarkus build, but this set altered to remove the plume and cloth, and the Great Sword will have to do.
- Anonymous
Alter the chest piece, replace the helm with the Black Hood, and it's perfection.
- Anonymous
I'm sick of the chest piece having all the cool parts. Put something on the legs.
- Anonymous
Wait, you don't have to kill them all for it? Just the two in snowfield? I wish I'd been to this page sooner. Damn.
