Pureblood Knight's Medal is a Tool in Elden Ring. Tools are unique, reusable items which assist the player during various facets of gameplay ranging from basic communication to assisting in boss encounters.

Proof that one is a glorious knight of the new Dynasty of Mohgwyn that the Lord of Blood will inaugurate.

Use to be granted audience with Mohg. Only, it is not yet time.

For Mohg yet slumbers beside the Divinity.
Be Patient. The new dynasty is nigh.

Pureblood Knight's Medal Location in Elden Ring

Where to find Pureblood Knight's Medal:

Pureblood Knight's Medal use in Elden Ring

  • Used to grant a Audience with Mohg. Teleports the player to just outside the steps of Mohgwyn Palace near the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace.
  • Can be infinitely reused to teleport back to this grace, allowing the player to teleport to safety.
    • Works while in combat or inside boss arenas, unlike normal teleportation.
    • Cannot be used when the player is teleport-blocked.

Pureblood Knight's Medal Notes & Tips

  • This item is used from the inventory.
  • White Mask Varre's advice to "not use it just yet" is a misdirection. He is awaiting the Mohg Dynasty, which will never come and is a fool's hope (according to Gideon Ofnir) - there is no later prompt to use it
  • This item is not kept on New Game+

So I got this quite early and forgot about it. I'm lvl 91 now and wrapping up volcano manor. The items is gone. Does anyone know why?

      • Anonymous

Thanx varre for destroying my save file, this item can fail to load moghwyn palace and enter an endless loading and crashing loop for that character, idk what causes it, varre breaking the 4th wall to protect his lord :v

        • Anonymous

When he says to 'not use it yet' he means that you have to wait for Shadow of the EldTree DLC release.
          Y'all using the item wrong

"Varre can you give me Pureblood Medal?"
            "To join Mohg Dynasty?"
            "Yeeees"
Actually uses it to go to Mohgwyn Palace early like a boss.

If I am reading this correctly: Can you use this to very quickly get to that spot where you can fall through the stage and get 150,000+ and fast travel to the grace?

              • Anonymous

This thing is so cool! You can use it any old time, not just the first, in case you ever need to get out of a sticky situation or for any other reason you can think of, and it's... just... SO gosh darn pretty. Like isn't this thing simply nice to look at? Sometimes I'll pull it up in my inventory and imagine my character holding it with one hand and tracing a finger along it's edges with the other, just kinda marveling at its carefully designed aesthetics.

                • Anonymous

If you die as the teleport goes off, you will still be transported. You respawn at the last grace, and your bloodstain will be back at Mohgwyn Palace.

                  • Anonymous

It doesn't need to be used from the inventory. It can be assigned a quick item or pouch slot and used from there if a player gets in over their head, I tested it myself when a swordstress was in the process of hitting me with her flowing sword I teleported out after one hit and just before a second. When you phase in at mohgwyn's palace your health wont have reset or items filled from the chest.

does he drop this when you kill him? It would be pretty stupid if not. if he has the item in its inventory why wouldn't he drop it if killed? it's boring to do this quest every run

                        • Anonymous

guess whos gonna have to wait 20 minutes to invade ONE PERSON and he has to do it again two more times counting an hour or more in total for this stupid stupid boss fight and farming technique

                          • Anonymous

I love this game. But the quest that gets you this is one of the biggest bummers for me out of any FromSoftWare title I have ever played. And that's because it forces you to be online. There is no workaround, you simply have no way of completing it unless you are online and invade. I can't in memory remember another title they put out where you cannot complete a major game questline without requiring you to take part in online multiplayer. I know I am not alone in feeling this way, so I was hoping that in an update they would provide at the very least a workaround, even if it was something hidden for players to discover, but no, nothing. I hope in the future they change this, as it would be simple to allow the manor invasions to count towards this quest. It would be harder and take a lot longer, but okay, it's still a way for offline players or people with poor connections to complete the quest, I'd be cool with that give and take, but so far it looks very unlikely that will happen. Very disappointing.

Do people not realize you don't need this to safely run from a boss fight? You can just quit out throught the menu. You will be outside the fog gate when you restart the game.

Offline question: Can you fulfill the 3 invasions requirement for Varre's quest by doing the Volcano Manor invasions?

                                • He said don't use it just yet because he knows many ppl got this through googling when they're < 50lv and barely explored Liurnia, but now they're gonna gain access to infinite runes farm and got too overpowered for the rest of the game, ruining Miyazaki's vision

                                  • Anonymous

So... all this does is allow access to a late-game area we're painfully under-leveled for? Damn I miss the covenants from Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

                                    • Could you make up your mind, which is it?

"Can be infinitely reused to teleport back to this grace, allowing the player to teleport to safety.

Cannot be used when the player is teleport-blocked."

                                      • "Ah, my lambskin, I'm so proud of you. You may take this medal, and one day meet our glorious lord, so that you may-"

"Oh, I can use this now? Cool I can get here easy"

"What? No lambkin, you must wait! For the-"

"Oh hey, I can fight mogh early"

                                        "WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING-"

*remembrance of the lord of blood*

Right just to help clarify things further (If anyone needs it), go to Varre at the Rose Church, talk to him and choose the top option when presented so, then he gives you the bloody festering fingers. Now you use THREE of them (you can use more but it has to be at least three).

Also note you can use the Finger Severer item immediately upon invading and it will still count towards the progress needed.

Talk to him again and join his cult thing. (I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS INTERFERE'S WITH OTHER QUESTS.) He then gives you a white cloth. Once you have that cloth, go to the Church of Inhibition. It's north of the Lake (look up exact location here on the wiki.)

There will be a corpse on a chair inside the church, walk up to it and interact with it. You should receive a new item, it's the same cloth now soaked in blood. Now go back to Varre for the last time, he will break your finger. Then talk to him again after that annnnnd done, you should now have the Medal.

This thing is awesome and I really wish I'd gotten it earlier in my run. Not only does it put you in a rune-rich area, the ability to warp at any time is amazing. Drop your runes in a boss fight and don't feel like killing them yet? Just pick them up and warp out. It also saves you time backtracking out of dungeons. I keep this in my pouch all the time now, since it's strictly superior to memory of grace.

                                              • Anonymous

Was trying to figure out why the sanguine noble invasion wasn’t triggering in the consecrated snowfields. Could it be because I accessed Mohgwyn’s Palace via this item instead of the portal? Sad I missed out on such a nice looking set.

                                                • Anonymous

kinda sucks that you can't get this item offline. especially because it's the only item that can teleport you out of combat without any cost, and gets you into a super lategame area that is really good for farming souls. hoping that they allow this to be obtainable in singleplayer in a future patch

                                                  • Hello fellow Tarnished. I’ve got a bit of a problem and really Hopi you guys can help out.. I went through Varre’s quest, did the 3 pvps, bloodied the rag for the creep, and received this PNM. I did say to wait, but I wasn’t planning on waiting long but I did want to do a couple quick things first (upgrade stuff mostly). But as I am now ready to use it and go whip some ass. It is nowhere to be found. Not in inventory in the tools tab, not in my chest, nowhere. I know I had it and I know right where it was in my inventory because I immediately went and read the description of it after I exhausted all Varres dialogue.. anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix? This did seem to happen right around the last maintenance happened just yesterday more, well that’s when I noticed it missing that is. Not that I think that has anything to do with it. Thanks guys.

                                                    • Anonymous

Yooo, it's important to mention you can use this like a janky Homeward Bone. I wanted my souls back from Mohg's fight without defeating him, used the Medal and it worked, it sent me out of the boss fight.

                                                      • Anonymous

Didn't see it posted, but you use this item from your inventory while in Mohg, the Omen's arena at the end of the subterranean shunning grounds (the area down the well in Leyndell)

                                                        • Anonymous

Actually he gave me the "Lord of Blood's Favor" and not the Pureblood Knight's Medal. And I have no Idea what to do with it.

                                                          • Anonymous

When and where do you use this item? I've had it since very near the start of the game but now I'm going through Mohg's kingdom the long way and wondering why I haven't been able to use this thing before reaching this point

                                                            • Anonymous

Pretty sure to get this and the reusable invasion finger you just have to use all of the consumable fingers to invade you have in your inventory. This means if you have more than 3, you have to use them all including the 3 he gives you. If he gives you more just use them up. No need to win. I think lore wise he wants you to desire to keep invading but since you're out of the fingers he'll offer another way.

                                                              • Anonymous

You can actually Invade and separate from the world immediately and it still counts towards the quest, because that's what I did. I'm not much of a invader. Though keep mind mind once you bring Varre the Lord of Blood Favor it will overwrite your dragon eyes to red eyes.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

I just tried it but it was removed from the inventory after I started my 4. journey (ng+++?). The quest seems to be the same, too. Im again at the point where I must invade 3 innocent players.

                                                                    • Anonymous

This is after the latest patch.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

The only other way to get there is in the Consecrated Snowfield, an optional area right beside the second last main area of the game.

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

He told me to wait but I used the item right at his face, right away. Thats what you get for calling me maidenless, Varré...

                                                                                    • Anonymous

Useful bonus perk about this item is that you can use it as a sort of permanent homeward bone to escape from sketchy situations and boss rooms

                                                                                      • Anonymous

I dont really care that its potentially intended for it to have been a questline whose conclusion is never going to come- its overall disappointing in an annoying way. I hate this bit of the game cause I really got excited to interact with the whole mohgywn dynasty thing more than what this is now. Yeah Gideon says Miquella is never going to be around so its a fool's dream, but then you beat him and tell Gideon and all of a sudden that narrative changes from "miquella's not coming back" to "though its not likely Miquella might actually come back and maybe it's best to destroy the egg before he does" so the whole angle of it being a fool's dream just ends up contradicting itself at the end. It just really smells like unfinished, dropped plotline- or dlc set up. Which if it is, thats a little lame. I'm probably going to be hyped to fight and kill miquella but still annoyed about this whole dynasty thing being so abruptly ended.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

You use this item in your inventory (like consuming a golden rune for xp) and it teleports you to the area. You then need to locate a nearby site of grace for the checkpoint

                                                                                          • I feel like the whole waiting part is, in essence, the most conclusive end to Varré's and Mohg's questline. We're left to wonder when exactly we're supposed to use it, but that's the thing -- it's never happening. Mohg and Varré are holding onto the vain hope that Miquella is going to ascend to godhood and begin the Mohgwyn Dynasty, but it's a dream that was doomed from the moment the plan was hatched (heh).

This medal is the best way of joining Mohg, because in the end, we're left doing the exact same thing: waiting, hoping, searching for a redemption that will never come. In using it, we lose our "faith," and thus betray Mohg, causing all the White-Faces to attack.

                                                                                            • Anonymous
