Festive Grease is a Consumable Item in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Consumable Item in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Most Consumables grant various effects such as restorative properties for recovering HP, removing certain negative status effects or applying temporary buffs and debuffs, while others can be thrown at enemies to deal damage.
Solidified knotgrease made from a mixture of bone shards. Craftable item. Coats armament, imparting a festive incantation that grants the wielder a scant few runes on landing attacks. The effect lasts only for a short time. The delightful festival is an old tradition; one old enough for the Erdtree to tacitly tolerate its endurance.

The description puzzles me. "The delightful festival is an old tradition; one old enough for the Erdtree to tacitly tolerate its endurance.". Why would the Golden Order begrudgingly tolerate such a ritual, considering that it was part of Marika's heritage? What's to tolerate about something that makes runes even more abundant? If it is so old, so culturally engrained, did it always have such connotations? If it's not exactly something the GO/the people of the Erdtree want to endorse, why do we find it in a cookbook of GO/Erdtree priests, as part of their proselytizing?

gives you 25 runes for hit
can be used on the other celebrant's weapons and while the UI only shows +20 when you hit things, it will give you the 45 combined total

Using this in coop to show the host that the most powerful thing is to be yourself and have fun :)

This item seems to refer to the festival in Dominula Village, interestingly enough. The name, the use of bone shards, the flowers on the sprite and the effect of gaining runes on hit all match items associated with the location.

Man, the Blessed Bone Shard is rare as hell, and is used for making Golden Vow and better version of Warming Stone. Wasting it on something like that feels awkward.
