Elden Ring Dynast's Finesse Guide

  • This is a Unique Skill
  • FP Cost: 5 ( -7)
  • Deals 33 +11 +11 (Total 55) stance damage
  • This Skill is not Chargeable
  • This Skill can be Parried
  • You are immune to damage while in the first portion of the skill, the spin.
    • Damage immunity lasts for 20 iFrames (30 FPS)
    • The spin costs no FP if one has not met the stat requirement to use the weapon, which can be used by pure caster builds to evade attacks right after casting spells, however, it would not have the damage immunity.
  • See Dodging for detailed information on the mechanic and a comparison of different dodging skills.
  • Pressing R2 after using this skill will follow up the dodge with a long range forward thrust.  This attack can be additionally followed up with a 2nd R2 for 2 additional hits (one thrust and one slash)
    • Each subsequent attack in the chain will consume additional FP
  • Note: This Skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows: The directional control of the follow up strong attack has been improved.

One neat way to use this against very evasive enemies is to turn off lock-on, turn your character's back towards the enemy, and then do the weapon skill. You'll dash into the enemy with your iframes and still be able to keep up with them using your followup attack. Just keep in mind that if you sprint toward the enemy and try to turn around, you'll have to wait for the turn around animation to finish before you can start the weapon skill.

Wish there was an Ash of War version of this, I love the look of this skill but I'd definitely love to use my favorite weapons with this Ash of War.

Hit someone with this successfully in an invasion. Scared him so bad that he ran from me straight into a pack of the electric orbs and got fried.

I've just got the sword, I regret not checking this page for the weapon art before wasting my time. I can't see how it could be useful, the step back while twirling the sword would only do any damage if an enemy or boss was that close behind you or next to you.

Anywhere with even a little bit of terrain makes reverse dynast finesse’s second move broken, it only lunges you backwards. I’m playing on pc with a mouse and keyboard. Is anyone else having this issue?

Has someone figured out a way for the follow up to not go off into the opposite direction when I try to move it forwards?

                • AngBata11 measured the i-frames on this weapon ash in ayoutube video and he found it was 0 frame startup, 41 invincibility frames. There are some recovery frames, but not measured however.

When Bloodhound Step gets nerfed, look for this AoW/weapon. You don't need to use the followup attack (which is easily parried anyway) but can still use the i-frames against players and Malenia. The followup attack has pretty good damage to poise though, better than the jump-heavy, the latter of which you will be forced to use when the enemy realizes how easy you are to parry.

The AoW also gives you enough range to cast short/midrange incantations/sorceries if you don't use the followup stab and have a reasonable cast speed.

I commented on the Bloody Helice as a Rivers of Blood user and someone two tapped the dislike button on me

Just dodged the entirety of Rivers of bloods WA then proceed to two tap them with this. Amazing wa for punishing over extensions or baiting

This absolutely destroys pvp and pve! The iframes is soooo good that you can react early on spells and attacks, and the lunge stab has poise.

So used well you can equip the counter talisman for 20% more counter damage and you can slap someone in the face with 1000 dmg easy
