Loretta's Slash is a Skill in Elden Ring. Loretta's Slash is a regular skill that can be found in Ashes of War that can be used on Polearms and Twinblades. Updated to Patch 1.07
How to get Loretta's Slash
- Ash of War: Loretta's Slash - Caria Manor: Dropped by Royal Knight Loretta upon defeat. [Elden Ring Map Link]
- Default skill of the Loretta's War Sickle
Elden Ring Loretta's Slash Guide
- This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Loretta's Slash.
- FP Cost: 14
- This Skill is not Chargeable
- Damage type is Physical Damage and Magic Damage
- Damage scales with weapon scaling. This used to be different, see stricken out text below.
- For high INT builds (tested with 20 STR, 20 DEX, 80 INT), a Magic Cross-Naginata+25 will do more damage with Loretta's Slash than Loretta's War Sickle+10. For all other affinities of the Naginata and for other builds, LSW will do more damage with the skill.
- On the Loretta's War Sickle, this skill scales with AR (see point above), on non-unique weapons with the corresponding Ash of War, it scales with Intelligence only, even if the Magic or Frost affinities have not been set on that weapon.
- Non-unique magic weapons will deal more damage with his skill on an 80 Intelligence build, which is the standard for mage builds, than the Loretta's War Sickle will with a build set to optimise the LWS's AR, making LWS an inferior choice for this skill.
- Wearing Spellblade Set increases the damage
- The animation itself is identical to the one used by Angel's Wings. This attack deals magic instead of Holy damage, and does not apply the anti-heal status effect.
- This Skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows:
- Poise damage for the first attack has been increased.
- Delay between the end of various actions (like using items or attack animations) and being able to perform the skill has been reduced.
NOTES: The Skill specifically for Loretta's War Sickle Ash of War also changed with Patch 1.07 as follows:
- Attack Power, Damage of the First Attack and Poise damage have been increased.

For anyone trying to just get max damage out of Loretta's slash, I can volunteer a data point. tl;dr Magic Vulgar Militia Shotel does more damage than Cross-Naginata but I'm not perfectly sure how other weapons compare because I only tested these two. ...So, of all the weapons this ash can be applied to, the Vulgar Militia Shotel has the highest Int scaling on Magic infusion. I did one single test of Magic Vulgar Militia Shotel +16 vs Magic Cross-Naginata +16, with their respective ARs being 196 standard + 321 magic (Shotel) vs 195 slash + 292 magic (Nagi). I tested versus a Leyndell Foot Soldier (the spreadsheet says they have 0 resist vs any of these damage types) and the Shotel did 887 damage while the Nagi did 801 damage. Also the shotel looks pretty cool with its crescent shaped blade lighting up blue.

is this the same as angel wings skill on the winged scythe? it looks very similar..

I don't know if it's particularly effective, but damn, it looks good on the Cross Naginata.

not great for damage but its difficult to interrupt when you're up in the air
Can someone confirm if this applies on hit effects like bleed/frost?

clayman harpoon + scholars armament + this ash of war = BOSS ERASER

Wouldn't mind a buff but this works surprisingly well as a combo mixup for a poise damaging polearm like the Lance, which already rules to begin with and this gives it horizontal sweepage. Don't write it off entirely.

You can put this on more than just polearms and twinblades. Someone mentioned reapers already but it can also go on the cross naginata, not sure about any of the other spears.

This is just a worse version of Sword Dance in every way, Sword Dance even has a follow up attack.

There's an old woman named Loretta down on the Road of Sacrificers; I'd like you to give her this ring for me.

Its kinda cool on a twinblade but spinning slash works better for locking down a single target.
Lorettas has superior mobility/

Does the skill itself scale off int? Or off what you set the weapon scaling to?

This skill can be put on reapers as well, looks great with grave Scythe.

Not a bad little move on an Int build that wants a halberd, good reach and damage. But nowhere near as broken as Hoarfrost stomp.

Put this bad boy on a Twinblade and have fun with a neat little Lightsaber move :^)
Wish it didn’t scale off int…
