Evergaol Walkthrough
Cuckoo's Evergaol is located along Liurnia's western landmass, easily accessed on foot or horseback. This Evergaol does not require a Stonesword Key to unlock. The portal mechanism in the center is active as soon as you enter the area. Enter the portal to challenge the boss within: Bols, Carian Knight.
Bols is a Troll Knight clad in Carian armor, wielding a massive greatsword. Due to his size, his movements are rather slow and his attacks have a hefty weight behind them. He compensates for this by frequently roaring, which not only increases his damage, but releases a burst of pressure that staggers players. Be careful as he tends to combo into his attacks after a roar. Bols is tall enough that you can easily and safely dodge under his legs to avoid most of his attacks, but never take your eyes off him as he can quickly turn around for a devastating follow-up.
Bols drops the Greatblade Phalanx spell upon defeat.

Bols, Carian Knight may have been imprisoned by the Knights of the Cuckoo shortly after the Academy of Raya Lucaria rebelled against the Carian royal family.

Kind of a lazy evergaol boss, the others were a lot more unique and cooler and had their own difficulty, this is just magic troll

Although the page recommends for ranged players to stick to his back, as a Sorcerer, I found it better to fight him the same as any other troll from the front while keeping my distance. Buff your magic resistance and cast Magic Shield to make dealing with his Phalanx spell easier. I used Beastial Vitality to keep my recovery up and avoid dropping into 1-hit range (I am a slightly hybrid caster). Comet made reasonably quick work of him.

He dropped a different spell for me, "Greatblade Phalanx". Is this a typo in the guide or was it because I already knew Glintblade Phalanx?
When you walk up on a light build mage thinkin it's a free lick and they pull out the HEAT
