Will do a challenge run on NG+ without healing flasks. Definitely not as hard as no hit, but I think it will be fun

"NOTE: This Skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows..." Oh no no no please don't nerf please don't nerf God damn... "...Damage Detection has been added to the weapon part." ...Phew.

With some buffs and the Mimic you can easily take out the last 4 bosses with this. Ridiculously good.

Commenting just in case anyone else blindly takes Kokca's advice below like I did - he's wrong. Taker's Flames costs 23 FP with the Carian Filigreed Crest equipped, therefore you need 15 Mind to cast it 4 times, not 11 like he claimed.

This paired with the flame of frenzy incantation makes dealing with crystalians a lot less painful even in a difficult late game area like Elphael brace of the haligtree. The weapon art knocks them flat and if you start to cast FoF when you see them starting to get back on their feet you should hit them before they can get close enough to use melee attacks on you, it works on the crystalian caster as well.
busted ass move at 11 mind + with carian filigreed talisman you can use this 4 times before running out of mana

they really need to fix the phantom proc issue. this and black knife are almost unbearable with it still being in the game.

It isn't mentioned here, but Taker's Flames does not cause damage to the Serpent enemies in Volcano Manor; it only provides knock back.

Does Arrow's Reach Talisman affect this? I know some skills have less dropoff at range AND the travel speed seems to increase. It might be harder to dodge if this travels at a faster rate.

I faced a really cool dude in pvp today who used the weapon art to heal even if it is rolled due to netcode phantom hits. Super creative! Although I think it only phantoms if you roll through it instead of to the side.

Why do I always think of the Undertaker first and foremost when I see its name...

Whenever I use it I call out I AM THE TAKER, AND THESE ARE MY FLAMES

The design of this sword is simultaneously similar to the Mea Culpa from the game Blasphemous (ooooh a possible reference) and the sword infused with all the behelits that the skull knight uses in Berserk.

This really should have been Plunderer's Flames. Taker's sounds so stupid.
Got 5062 damage from this one with buffs................brutal!

Most busted weapon art ever, I love it. Immense damage + knocks down nearly anything that can be knocked down.

this confirms it's a refference to blaphemous. same weapon skill you can use in that game aswell
Fromsoft when balancing be like:
Hmmm, this very weak and predictable ash of war doesn't deserve any hyperarmor
But this self-heal nuclear lava explosion needs TONS of hyperarmor
