Minor Erdtree (Capital Outskirts) Walkthrough
Unlike most Minor Erdtrees, this one is not guarded by any Bosses. An Omen and a group of Commoners are guarding Crimson Crystal Tear and Twiggy Cracked Tear. There is a Trina's Lily to the east of this minor erdtree.
The presence of an Effigy of the Martyr and a Stake of Marika here suggests that a boss was originally planned for this location or the Omen and the Commoners were originally designed as a boss encounter.

Its literally in the shadow of fhe Erdtree. Only withered one. The omen has a unique skin unlike others. He also uses fias mist and death magic.
Like the person beneath stated, this Greattree is special:
- The Omen and Commoners here use a special variant of Fia's mist, i.e. Death sorcery / incantation.
- The tree is the only withered one in the otherwise thriving Altus Plateau; otherwise, withered Greattrees are only found in hazardous areas like the Mountaintops, Mt. Gelmir and Caelid.
My "hypothesis": This is the Greattree at whose roots Godwyn's corpse lies and rots, thus corrupting the tree. Looking at the underground map of the Deeproot Depths, we see the cross sections of various massive trees; Godwyn's corpse is located at one of these. The location of that tree is not completely in line with the overground location of this Greattree, but it's close, and there's no other Greattree around it might belong to. There are other examples of the underground and overground maps not aligning even though they're supposed to:
- The massive tree cross-section seen in the Deeproot Depths map is obviously the Erdtree, since it's far bigger than the others and this area is literally described as the roots of the Erdtree. Yet it doesn't fully align with the Erdtree's overground location.
- Nokron is said to lie right beneath Sellia, yet on the underground map, what we find beneath Sellia is the Mohgwyn Dynasty.
So, in short, I think this Greattree is the one where Godwyn's rotten corpse is burried. An amazing detail imo.
