Lakeside Crystal Cave Walkthrough

After entering the cave you will find yourself in a large open area and in front of the grace is a chest containing an Arteria Leaf. Stick to your left and jump up the hill to clear out the Demi-Humans. Follow the pathway along the cliff as normal however, don't drop down into the chasm. Enter the room at the end of the cliff, kill the Demi-Human Chieftain inside the room and open the chest containing the Spear Talisman. Afterwards, head back and to the middle of the cliff to find an area to drop down to. Once you are at the bottom, you will enter a room containing 3 Crystal Snails and another room with many more, but these will take some time to attack. Drop down again to find Soft Cotton x2 on a body on the ledge and then drop down to grab a Smithing Stone (2), Smithing Stone (4) looted from two more corpses, and a Lump of Flesh. Once you proceed, you will get ambushed by three more snails. Turn left to fight the Boss, Bloodhound Knight. He is very agile and can close gaps quickly. Upon his Death he drops the Cerulean Amber Medallion.

After defeating the boss, continue through the arena to find the Slumbering Wolf's Shack. You can meet Latenna here and there is a Rune Arc behind the shack.

  • After defeating the Bloodhound Knight boss, players may proceed to the Slumbering Wolf's Shack Site of Grace, which is only accessible through this cave and is the first location of NPC Latenna.

Starting from the site of grace, follow the pathway along the cliff as normal however, don't drop down into the chasm. Enter the room at the end of the cliff, kill the Chieftain inside the room and the Spear Talisman is located in the chest.

I know its kind of an obvious path but, for whatever reason, the talisman is listed in the "equipment and magic" section but "There is an item at the second, lower campfire and a tunnel to another room with a Demi-Human Chieftain" felt insufficient to me.

Here's an image of the cave entrance and where I was standing on the map. If someone wants to add it to the actual page, feel free. https://imgur.com/a/n196zEG

Spirit ashes summoned near the door will engage the snails outside the boss arena instead of the boss fyi. Kill the snails before going in

Great for character RP if you're into that, the water in the room with the demihuman chief is knee-deep and works great as a warrior bath tub, pop in some rainbow stones and you've got a relaxing pool to sit in and to wash off all that blood

This cave is a good example why I don't really like the bosses in ER. Here we have a cave with demi-humans and crystal snails... and the boss is a Bloodhound Knight? Why? This doesn't fit. It feels like the bosses were randomnized. A big crystal snail with some small snails would fit much more in this.

Well, unfortunately she disappears even before setting the tree on fire. Simply progressing enough to mistakenly discover the lift beforehand must despawn her questline chance. I've also found the other half of the medallion before figuring this dungeon I had missed much earlier on.

There is a wierd looking wall that screams "hit me". Is that one of the seven walls that need multiple hits to be revealed?

So weird. I cleared the normal mobs up until the spear talisman. I went back up, rested at the grace, and suddenly a chest with an arteria leaf appeared next to the grace...?

This was enough of a problem for me that i have to mention it somewhere. the cave isn't west in any way imaginable it's just south. Saying west implies its on the west side of the lake, which it isn't. The only reason this page was help is because you have a link to the map. P.S. i spent 2 hours looking for the cave cause everything said west. I hope you can update this page to reflect the actual location in your directions.

Placed completely wrong on interactive map. It is near the water and cliff edge. I'm not sure why such a large number of icons on the map are placed so incredibly far from the proper locations.

Weirdest buggy dungeon I've seen. The demi-humans are a common enemy but this is the first time I've found their collision detection for both dealing hits to me and receiving to be atrocious. I also found the crystal slugs AI to be hilarious as 90% of the time they will shoot one spell and then just stand there until you start hitting them. Then they attempt to flee. During the fight with the boss my Spirit Ash that was near him, of two spirits, was half HP and beating up the boss. The other was mid attack using a ranged attack from far away and spontaneously de-summoned for the remainder of the fight despite having exactly 100% health and being no where near the boss. The fall damage was also weird with heights that would normally cause no fall damage to occur sometimes causing fall damage while using cotton which reduces noise and fall damage on the shorter drops but not the longer drops.
