shard of alex, shattered stone, bird pants, both consecutive hits talismans and this is insanely strong vs pve. i could tank and out dps the last bosses first phase without even dodging its so powerful

This has a feature that's kinda unique: it deals extremely high stamina damage to blocking enemies. It deals 630 stamina damage which is more than a Giant Crusher Charged R2. You can break through a Crucible Knight's shield block with one AOW for example.

Good strike damage, good poise damage, strong roll catcher, guaranteed sword insignia / Godskin Cloth proc, all that for honestly not much FP. Overall I'd say it's the strongest AoW for Hand-to-Hand, but it's still barely anything more than what you get from 1 charged attack, so, unless you are fighting an enemy that you need to keep staggered like the fire knights, I would say a charged attack followed up by any regular attack just nets you more (I did not use Alexander's shard tho, so keep that in mind)
This one is really good to use after Radahn's little ground-lift tho, since you don't have time for a charged attack and a follow-up, but you do have time for this (If you are really fast).

Insane skill against Malenia, all hits stagger and nearly stunlocks her, even if she dodges the last hit can sometime track and hit and stagger anyways.

Garbage tier for now. Fromsoft likely forgot to test before releasing as currently the damage is pitiful (and ought not be infused or you lose half your damage vonus with the shattered stone talisman.
Additionally the kick doesnt combo its subsequent hits despite coming out rapidly, even with max specialization in stats and gear youll be luck to get 850 damage, for an ash that has no forward tracking, no hyper armor, meager damage, and a huge vulnerability window due to long animation.
Needs to combo its hits as well as get a damage buff, with an animation speed up to mitigate the vulnerable window, even then would still be hard to justify.

unfortunately you are better off running claw talisman and jump r2 -> r1, 4 kicks so they all get buffed by shattered stone. Then you can run raptor of the mists, with bird greaves and gravebird/raptor cloak,

divine beast head and divine bird warrior greaves increase it's damage. buffed with GV/FGMS, shattered stone talisman, millicent's prosthesis, and shard of alexandar on heavy affinity (80str) + thorny cracked tear gave me 3k dmg on a single use of dryleaf whirlwind.

i think the kicking attacks of dryleaf dane's footwork are supposed to be imbued with energy once you use this ash of war (similar to how the heavy attacks are imbued with energy), but it seems to not be working at the moment

Use this with Blood Infusion (since you can't Bloodflame Blade it) and watch the procs go off.

"Imbues kicking attacks with energy, increasing their range." This seems to work or does literally nothing

jump attack buffs don't work with it, but shattered stone does.

multihit talismans go well on fast hitting powerstanced builds, so grab milicents prosthesis by killing her once you both give her the prosthetic and kill the windmill village foreskin apostle, grab the alexander's shard, either works but i prefer to get the real deal in faram azula, and then grab the shattered stone talisman. I've heard rumours of jump attack talisman n raptors working on this but I haven't tested it yet, gonna go do that rn. Enjoy.

my build is shattered stone talisman and dryleaf whirlwind, it is quite the strong build
Very powerful, especially with the right talismans. However, it is unfortunately in competition with the nuclear explosion that is Palm Blast.
