Does remove build up or only active effects? Would it ruin a coop bleed build?

I wish you could aim it directly downwards to dispel effects from yourself

Honestly, this would have been so cool if it was like a AoW version of law of regression. But this is cool too ig.

It seems that FAITHFUL'S CANVAS TALISMAN (Increases damage of Incantations by 4%) can raise the AoW damage.
I was testing the difference of the AoW dmg between FAITHFUL'S CANVAS TALISMAN,
LIGHTNING SCORPION CHARM,
SACRED SCORPION CHARM,
SACRED SCORPION CHARM yields the lowest dmg, FAITHFUL'S CANVAS TALISMAN yields the highest, LIGHTNING SCORPION CHARM sits in between.

So good for keeping spellcasters and buffers in check in PvP duels. Kinda brutal during invasions, but that’s that invasion life.

I'm curious to the effect it does to bosses or NPCs. 'Those pierced are purged of all ailments and special effects alike.' I'm dumb so idk what enemies this can be useful against besides the PvP aspect

This trivializes Malenia's phase one. Was doing a cosplay run recently and for phase one, if you have enough FP, you can literally just keep her at distance and spam this. It will also trigger her Waterfowl from far away, making it very easy to dodge

The weapon swing also deals damage. I don't know why didn't expect that.

cost 19 fp and remove your buff.that far better than law of regression
Sooooo
Shard of alexander does NOT work
Spear talisman works in they hit when enemy is attacking
Scales better with dex then faith
Holy charm and holy dmg flask seems to do very little, unless you use Last rites, then you get lots of dmg from them, Last rites gives more dmg then golden vow or Rallying standard.
Using Last rites also seems to make the skill animation do like 20 dmg BEFORE any of the needles hit their target, so it will not be able to do supprice attack.
Works with successive attack buffs, BUT can't stack it, so either use melee or smithscript dagger in offhand to stack it from range ;P
Rakshasa armor set also buffs it
Works with all other kinda dmg increasing buffs like white mask + bleed and so on.. blue dancer charm works as well..
I did like 3850 dmg on the troll outside Godrick with it stacked up. Though you do way more damge if you do spear talisman and hit at the right time

It's beautiful. Seems like more of a utility WA than a raw dmg one. Looks amazing though. Been eyeing this beauty since pre release
In the same way you can move an unlocked camera vertically to affect the angle at which you swing your weapon, you can determine the needles' destination (up to a certain point) by looking up or down. Looking up sends them further away, while looking down brings them closer. If you face a wall from a small distance and look up, they'll actually center on a higher point of that wall, as opposed to the ground directly before you. It's an interesting trick; you can do it for yourself in the Roundtable Hold's grand hall where Mad Tongue Alberich invades you. Depending on the situation you find yourself in, it may hold some utility.

so a proper faith version of the law of regression, but only on your opponent

Frankly, there's not much point in using this on a poison/rot/frost build to "re-proc" the statuses for your own buffs or such. Poison or rot builds would much rather use the new AoW The Poison Flower Blooms Twice, to pop the poison/rot off the enemy. As for frost builds, you can reset frostbite with fire damage, which is super easy and doesn't require FP. It removes statuses cause its cool from a lore perspective, no need to get fancy with it
If this removes all buffs in PvP (or PvE? definitely will require testing), then this thing will be crazy

I think one of the best uses of this skill actually comes from builds that want to build poison for kindred of rot, mushroom helm and the new fist. Proc all three of those and before those buffs wear off, use this skill to remove the poison before proc again. Mostly for PvE but still could be a fun use if you have the stats

Does the damage from this ash scale with faith ? Or just dex ??

Isnt it bad that all ailments and special effects get purged

I can understand the excitement for this glorified nerf bat but let's be real here, most buffs are a joke in pvp already anyways. I would hope it's more useful in pve.

So, Get proc on frost; Trigger this A.O.W, then trigger frost again? (@_@) That sounds kinda broken, no?
The needles can be parried by Carian Retaliation, but only the ones from the front.
It's good if you want to sacrifice some HP and buffs for a surprise counter.
