It's a pretty decent ash, but not worth charging IMO. It only went up from like ~1680 damage to ~1940, so like a 15% damage increase? Compared to the extra second or two it takes to get it out, I'd say it's not worth unless you're surrounded by trash mobs, since the range seems to go up too. It only deals damage 3 times even though there are visually a lot of slashes when charged up, so multihit talismans like Winged Sword Insignia will only proc on the third hit, giving you no extra benefit unless you stack it up beforehand.
Shard of Alexander pairs nicely with it obviously, and Godfrey Icon affects it if you charge it, but if you don't want to stack both talismans then Shard is obviously better, since it affects the uncharged version as well.

If you want the katana, you’ll have to take it from her. But you already knew that, didn’t you?

pretty terrifying in pvp, has deceptive range on the slashes. will be fun to work out how to deal with it.

Jolan is a woman by the way :) the wiki calls her "him" throughout but Ymir uses she/her for her.

Darkeater Midir would be so proud that his katana reincarnated into Elden Ring.
