Fan Shot is a Skill in Elden Ring. It was added with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Fan Shot allows the user to fire 8 shots at the same time in a fan shape.

- FP Cost: 0 on activation (stance), 12 per shot
- On activation, the user assumes a stance, preparing the bow. When inputting light or heavy attacks, the user shoots 8 of the respective arrow from their slots, consuming FP (and stamina while in combat).
- With 99 arrows, the skill can be used 12 times leaving 3 remaining arrows
- Can be paired with Stormwing Bone Arrow to inflict significant Poise damage when fired at close range, or to proc status buildup using arrows with status effect.

Capped at 2 arrows hit per enemy despite consuming 8 arrows. Not only the damage is quite mediocre (~3x the damage of a regular attack), it consumes whooping 8 arrows like what the hell man. I agree that 8 arrow hits is too much, but like 4 arrows consumed would be a much better cost.

I'll be honest, it sucks that when you land all 8 arrows against a single enemy, they only deal roughly 3 times the damage of a regular arrow.
It feels as if doing a double shot during jumping + 1 regular shot is a much more practical option, since it gives your more room to dodge and move around.

Overhyped in pvp. Just strafe it or use a shield. Use this vs 2 or 3 people at once to get blendered.

How does this combine with status arrows? Does every arrow get the full status buildup?

I'm not sure but each arrow has their damage increased by 100%
Fan Shot does have one interesting property: you know how enemies will 'dodge' arrows when they're aware of you? Enemies like Sewer Omens and lions have trouble dodging a Fan Shot. Since the damage is capped at 2 arrows making contact anyways, it doesn't matter if 3/4 of them miss. It also tends to get a lot of accidental headshots, too.
