Mt. Gelmir is a Location in Elden Ring. Mt. Gelmir is a volcanic region found north of Liurnia and west of Altus Plateau. The mountain proper can be accessed by either:
- Reaching Altus Plateau by way of either the Ruin-Strewn Precipice or the Grand Lift of Dectus and then heading north through the valley towards a bridge. Look to the right for a Spiritspring that will get you up to the cliffs and then cross over to the west to reach the Bridge of Iniquity site of grace. From here, continue heading west while hugging the cliffs until you see a rope ladder to reach the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite site of grace.
- Do Rya's questline, then reach Altus Plateau and meet her there. She will take you to Volcano Manor, from the manor go outside from manor's main entrance door to reach Mt. Gelmir.
- Getting abducted by the Abductor Virgin at the bottom of Raya Lucaria Academy as suggested by Patches to travel to Volcano Manor, then defeating Abductor Virgins to unlock access to both Mt. Gelmir and Altus Plateau. (while it is possible to parkour your way to the entrance of the manor this way without defeating Abductor Virgins, the manor's main entrance door that connects to Mt. Gelmir is closed and cannot be opened from inside - this door is open normally if you come to the manor using the two other ways above).
Mt. Gelmir is a volcanic region west of the Altus Plateau, ruled over by the enigmatic Volcano Manor and their lord, Praetor Rykard. This region has been ravaged, and is home to many grotesque creatures.

I like how From uses the environment to tell subtle stories - I'm always finding new ones.
Past the bridge of iniquity SoG, there's a battlefield with about a half-dozen iron virgin statues defending the path to volcano manor. There's a cliff off the right-hand side of the approach, where two leyndell soldiers are hiding as their comrades get slaughtered below.

I STRONGLY recommend to upgrade the Serpent-Hunter if you have the spare somber smithing stones. I never got through the 2nd phase until I upgraded to +5, and destroyed him in like 2 minutes.

The one thing I didn't like about Mt Gelmir is that you only get access to the map near the very end of your way through the area. I was unlucky to pick the Seethewater River branch first, so after I completed it I switched to the Volcano Manor branch, and by the time I reached the map I already cleared 90% of the area. Kinda ungrounded decision to put it there because it provides the least possible utility at that point.
Apart from that I actually liked Mt Gelmir because it is not overly vast, and also the design of its layout gives you a good sense of progression so you can always tell "ok I just did this part, and there's the next part in front of me, and also a side track which I'll check tomorrow". In most other areas you're just riding through a rather unstructured space, and you have to track/memorize much more locations you've put off exploring for later because they were off your current path.

the Sites of Grace list is missing the Seethewater River site of grace. it's located in the valley between the Abductor Virgin site of grace and the Wyndham Catacombs site of grace.

Such a scenic and beautiful area with all the volcanic rock formations, hills and craters. Sure, navigation can be difficult before you unlock all the graces, but once you do, you can appreciate the beauty of this mountain range and so many cool details. I love looking at the landscape of Mt Gelmir from the Altus Plateau, if you choose a good vantage point, you can see the huge watchtower on Mt Gelmir from there, as well as the Volcano Manor

To get to the Minor Erdtree, start from the Road of Iniquity right outside of Volcano Manor. Follow the path downhill, you'll pass a lot of dead giants hung by their feet and swords stuck into the ground. You'll see the Erdtree in the distance. Careful there's a big guy there who will want to eat you for lunch.

Getting to First Mt. Gelmir Campsite site of grace from the Bridge of Iniquity site of grace, when I started the climb, I actually caught myself humming the song "Snake Eater" by Norihiko Hibino. Made the mistake I always make when I get to the top... looked over the edge. Mood ruined, vertigo ensued.

Anyone know how to get to the tree I have cleared everything and can't figure out how to get down there.
In order to get to Mt Gelmir proper, go from the Bridge of Iniquity Grace (requires you to have followed the road west out of Leyendell). Hug the left cliff as you pass through the destroyed camp where a couple of soldiers are fighting the huge mechanical sentry enemy, and you should see a rope ladder on the cliff to the left of the second camp, the one with a spinning sawblade sentry patrolling it. Climb the ladder, and it will lead you to the Grace called "First Mt Gelmir Campsite". Hope this helps!
If you instead follow the road from Bridge of Iniquity, you'll hit a stop at a broken bridge, where there's an item and a familiar-looking NPC invader.

Guys in order to get to south Mt Gelmir (Wyndam Ruins) go to "Erdtree-Grazing Hill" and look for the nearby path upwards. Confusing that the wiki marks it as part of Mt. Gelmir when really its Atlus Plateau.

Added Magma Drake as a field boss. Located south of Fort Laiedd in a pool of Magma. Drop a dragon heart, and around 15,000 runes (Can't recall exactly how much)
Added Godskin Noble to the list...he's a Major Foe and has a trophy so I don't know why it hasn't been added yet :v

How do I access the lower section of Mt. Gelmir? Looking down from the Minor Erdtree. Tried dropping (instant death plane), walked around entire perimeter and no way to get down.

it is literally impossible to get up this mountain, i've searched everywhere and i cannot find one nook or cranny that lets me get to it
also no videos be out yet on mt gelmir so i am screaming on both the inside and outside
This is the coolest place in the game. It's basically leyndells forces Vietnam. You got the abductor virgins guarding the direct path to the manor and the marionettes Rykard brought over guarding the mountain approach where they can use their verticality effectively. The hodge podge of volcanos forces like the marionettes, hands, abductors, trolls, and even random demi humans brings a disturbing psychological presence to the battle which stands in antithesis to the golden orders emphasis on purity and uniformity in their forces. The soldiers are all frenzied and leyndell keeps sending reinforcements like the great stars carriage but can't break through. Honesty they should throw the omens out there that might give them a chance. All in all such a cool area its 10/10 Miyazakis for me.
